Just wondering what types of modding causes y'all the most trouble. GTA IV and EFLC has been out for a few years now, and there are literally thousands of mods available, and I know we've all had our fair share of glitches, crashes, and freezes.

So what's the general opinion on the most troublesome type of mod?

For me, it's been Peds. Nothing crashes my game more often than all the different ped mods available (I like to try them all) . The models themselves as well as the pedvariations.dat and peds.ide can cause quite alot of problems.

A close second I would say is scripting mods, which can sometimes be completely unpredictable.

For me, it's usually scripts crashing my game. Including ASI mods.
If I look in the log files, it's mostly the same: "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object" - No matter which script.

Sometimes the scripts crash and I have to reload them or they take my game along and it crashes too.

After turning some things off (like world events in LCPD:FR and PoliceHelper), the number of crashes decreased.

Maybe there are some vehicles, peds or weapons that cause the crashes too but I'm sure that most of the crashes are caused by the scripts.

I used many ENBs for a long time and they didn't crash my game, I didn't try other graphics mods like ICE.

For me, cars. Every time i mod more then 4 cars my game gets very fond of cabs.

That's a known problem of GTA IV and can be fixed with mods like >Traffic Flow - But there are also many others, i.e. Chikamru Real Traffic.

Works like a charm for me!

You can also avoid this by creating a multiplayer lobby with the maximal amount of private slots if you don't want to use Traffic Flow or any other traffic mod.

Cars. Cars are the culprits causing my game to crash. I'm limited to certain cars that are at least 2mb size on .WFT and less than 1mb on .WTD. sometime when a car is about 2mb on WTD I remove the extra police liveries and replace dirt texture with a black texture. It seems to drop the file down to below 1mb. Its a shame because there are so many beautiful cars out there and I cant use them because of the amount of detail put in to them. I'm stuck with either vanilla IV/V cars and cars by GFXLE and Lt.Caine. The two moddelers that have decent game friendly cars IMO.

The rest of the crashes are just GTA IV going full retard at random times.

The only time i crash is if the game can't handle what's going on.. which happens to pretty much everyone.

all the mods i use don't make a big impact (although they do cause crashes), the main crash is GTA 4 being it's horrible ported self.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me
