I haven't played GTA online yet.

I had this idea about reacting the North Hollywood Shootout in GTA 5.
I know that most of the vehicles won't be accurate for 1997.
Some weapons won't be accurate as well.

List of cars needed:

Police Cruiser(Halogen Rotators)
Police Transporter? I'm guessing police vans were used.
Police Riot(in place of the V-100).
Unmarked Cruiser(SWAT team).
Police Maverick
Police Bike
Ambulance(background prop).
Firetruck(background prop).

Stockade(for rescuing officers).
Emperor(suspects car)
Stanier? (detective's cars).
Bobcat(final shootout scene)
Newsvan(background prop)
Futo(before final shootout, drives past suspect).
Primo(before final shootout, drives past suspect).
Phantom w/ box trailer(shootout where suspect commits suicide).

Weapon list:

Pistol(cops & suspect).

Pump Shotgun or Sawed-Off Shotgun. Which ones more close to the ones used by police?
Assault Rifle(AK47) or MG(PKM) Which ones more accurate to the ones used? Maybe both can be used? Don't forget the extended mags.
Carbine Rifle(in place of M16/AR-15).

It can be called the "North Vinewood Shootout"?

I want your thoughts about this idea.
Possible? Big scale/small scale?
Impossible?

I'm not sure, but I believe SWAT actually responded in Slicktops during the shootout?

 

Sidenote: About the weapons, the regular officers actually only had their Remington and Beretta 9mm's. Some officers actually had to drive to a gun shop close by to get some heavier weapons like the AR-15.

So, only SWAT should have AR-15's (And MP5s)

So, only SWAT should have AR-15's (And MP5s)

The "Unmarked Cruiser" is the slicktop version.

I know the weapons used by the cops and suspects.

Ithaca Model 37 is used by the cops.

SWAT never used MP5's, they knew it wouldn't work.

the 97 Hollywood shootout reminds me of the bank heist in GTA V with all 3 of them in heavy Armour Kevlar with miniguns.

 

It should be possible, it'll might be fun actually:)

I always thought about re-enacting the intro from S.W.A.T in the Vinewood bank.

I'd say the pump shotgun would be a more accurate representation for the police shotguns. While as far as suspect weapons, the PKM would probably be the best fit, because they used AK-47's with drum magazines, and the AK in GTA V looks slightly too modern. I'd also suggest the G36 type assault rifle added in one of the expansion packs to stand in for the G3 one suspect retrieved while engaging the police outside the bank.

 

& I've seen many players do some kind of modding/ glitching to get LSPD cruisers in slicktop form, but understandable how difficult that can be, I think the detective cars would work just fine.

 

I'd suggest maybe some civilian helicopters like the maverick and frogger to stand in for news helicopters

 

But overall sounds like a fine idea

Great Idea. There was a movie, prior to the shootout, with Val Kilmer, Robert D..? Great Movie.

 

SWAT was at the academy on a training mission. The unit they used did not get hit once. now that's "Angels" in the field.

Should be in the marketplace. I just know when you're in the start menu in game, there's a tab for the market place, and it will send you to another menu in game.

 

And I'm almost 100% sure that the DLC is free for everyone. I think they counter act that with the item being expensive (with in-game currency of course, not real money).

No no no, you shouldn't have to buy anything the DLC is free.. I said "in game money" as in the money you get doing missions, just like single player. Like say a suit jacket costs like $500 normally, if it's a suit from the DLC it'll cost like $3k-5k. Cars are the same. I think to buy the G36 it's like $14k. Just do a ton of races, and some high profile missions. Some missions can pay like $18-25k depending if you haven't done them yet.
