Voice Activated Commands

So I found a cool feature called VAC.. It basically allows you to use your voice to play the game. So like, to say "yes" to answer a call, you can set it to "Copy that, show me en-route" or anything you want..

Let me know what you all think please. And if you get time, please like and comment on my video :)

The software I use is called VAC, you can download it free from http://www.dwvac.com/

it allows you to program what keys you want and what sentence or word you want to speak to activate it.

so say I wanted to activate just the lights as a code 2, I'd set it up as activate "j" key from me saying "Code two" into my microphone.

If you are a hardcore roleplayer, you can set it to where when you want to go on duty using BraveHearts Policing script.. to activate the script you could sey "Alt+Delete" to activate by saying "Unit 6 show me on duty" into your mic.

Personally, I'm not a hardcore roleplayer, but I do like this feature simply because it saves me having to look down to find the right key to press.

VAC is really simple to set up, I've done a short tutorial on youtube on how to set it up:

This is VAC in action:

I actually did some testing with Windows Speech Recognition a long time ago on Vista, but it had its issues. I might give it a shot again though, maybe I can get it into LCPDFR. Thanks for sharing.

Would you care to explain yourself a little bit more for the benefit of the community?

It would be nice to know your personal experience of how well such a feature works, and what you use to make such a feature work. Custom software or windows default?

Do you have any recommendations etc?

It's a nice feature and a good idea, but for the community's sake tell us more about it :)

I am also doing a small project awhile back for speech recongnition with "system.speech.recognition" but I am getting memory leaks... Did you have issues like this?

I remember using this actually.  It worked really well for me.

Just used it in game. Works fine, pretty fun and adds a lot of realism.

If you set up all the traffic stop commands, you can end up saying "License and Registration" and the occupant will hand it over. Really awesome.

Glad you like it. It's great the amount of detail you can go into when setting the keys up isn't it.

Hm memory leaks shouldn't occur in a managed environment. Just make sure you free it properly on shutdown, otherwise it might cause issues.

Im following the video, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I am trying to set a "Code 2" Command and I put L-ALT for the extend key 1 and J to get the lights to turn on. If anyone can help me please :) not sure what I am doing wrong.

Code 2 (just lights) is just "J" .. no L-Alt buddy :)

Pretty cool stuff.

Personally, I won't be using this, since I've got other people living with me, & I think I would prefer using the keys instead

Thanks for sharing
