most of us don't like the idea but we as the WORLD aka NATO will not stand by and watch innocent children and women get slaughtered.

You don't want to see womens and childrens killed ? What about our childrens that died all those days during the bombing . There is some sence if they throw bombs on military bases , but whats the point of attacking civil houses ? If you want to do something correct to help someone , take down the attackers and not the civils ... Anyway , there is no reason to continue this thread because no one will never say that he's wrong , so i would like to ask an admin to close this thread , please .

Nope. We don't close threads because the OP asks us to; we only close if there are rules violations.

No problem. It just bothers me when people are very opinionated about a topic that they have only researched on Wikipedia. I'm not trying to say that their opinion doesn't count, I just don't want people to make conclusions about the conflict without adequate information, seeing as this (as well as the Bosnian War) was a very complicated war.

It's always far too easy to make a conclusion based on one side of the story. I'm just trying to promote a more in depth analysis of the situation; deeper than just reading a Wikipedia article.

This is a good thing to keep in mind for all wars, not just any particular one. There is no such thing as a simple war.

That's true, but I'm talking more about the fact that it is difficult to see who is fighting who. In the War on Terror it was obvious that the US and other NATO countries were fighting terrorist cells. Here, the situation is blurry because it is a semi-civil war, with people attacking each other along with support from external countries.

I just wanted to remind you what you've done 15 years ago , 78 nights and days your Air Forces throwed bombs on the Capital City , Belgrade

You know, there are people from other countries too around here.

lovkal

I just wanted to remind you what you've done 15 years ago , in a little country called Serbia , 78 nights and days your Air Forces throwed bombs on the Capital City , Belgrade . At the end , we lost the Kosovo , one of the most important place in our country with a plenty big amount of churchs .

Thanks for the reminder. Mentioning the genocide that was going on there and other countries besides the U.S. cooperating in the fight would have been helpful to give perspective to people who weren't aware of it, but you don't care about that, right? If you don't like America, that's cool, but you're views most likely won't be very popular here, even from people who live in other parts of the world. Your previous posts make you sound an awful lot like a holocaust denier. But if you're not that type of person, then I'll be looking forward to your post marking the anniversary of the first mass executions of Jews by the Germans in 1941 during the Soviet campaign, and another post by you marking the anniversary of the mass executions of Armenian civilians during their war, along with some sh*t talking about each offending country. Because that's what you'll need to do in order to be fair and unbiased.

Seriously dude, quit while you're behind.

This topic was made to start a flame war...smh

I disagree. This topic was made to be a reminder to he vast majority of people who don't even know there were wars in the Balkans. I don't think a majority of people here knew anything happened were it not for this post. Although it is misguided in it's ways, it has served it's purpose to make people remember and hopefully understand (at least in part) of the wars that happened through the 90s.

No, it was made to take a shot at specifically at Americans by a European who's uninformed in European history and politics. Nothing he said educated anybody, only reply posts like those from NickieB and some of the other G17 staff members actually had any historical facts in them that somebody could learn something from.

You touched on what I was actually going to say.

From reading a few of the articles that the staff so nicely provided, the mass genocide of the Jews during World War II mustn't have happened then. That must not have been mass murder of civilians. I agree with unr3al here. That's all I'm going to say about that because I was 3 when this occurred and I don't know exactly what went on.
