Crashes with ELS-Car

Featured Replies

Some time ago, i made a topic about my game crashing. (my account was lost, most likely due to the server issues)

Any way. I asked why my game crashed when I used:

Lcpdfr

Traffic flow

ELS V6Three ELS police cars (one instead of "noose")

I got the answer that it was due to the three ELS- cars, and that I should try with only one els car and see if it worked.

I tried with the same mods but only with ONE els car. It still crashes after 15 minutes or so, even if I play lcpdfr or not.

So i'm wondering:

Is there any way to avoid game crashing with ELS- cars??? (I really like to use them ^^ )

I also see on youtube people using six different ELS cars or more (!)

Thanks

ELSv5

Either they got a better PC than yours or they have lower poly ELS cars.

aha, the cars I use are extremely detailed. I'll try. Is there any way to find out how detailed a car are without downloading?. its really hard to see on the pictures, or maybe the cars i have found just are very detailed...

Well technically it is the case visually, but it stresses out the GTA IV game engine. And I know you're all going to argue with me about textures and bump mapping and shadowing and all of that crap. lol I know. But polygon count increases with the newer games. Just people are shoving models that are basically direct rips from other games into a game engine made for lower poly count models.

Ripping is a whole other issue for a whole other thread tbh. But agreed, IV wasn't made to run 189797897129873891271 polygon models from newer games like unr3al said. Okay, okay, exaggeration, but you get my drift, lower poly is better for the engine. Which is what I meant in terms of the whole lower poly = better.

They aren't that bad, but are very bad.

...

Original police car (CVPI like): ~13,094 polys

A CVPI from a popular site: ~125,911 polys

That is an 862% increase, the game engine cant handle that, especially when you have many cars being spawned. These people need to learn to stick to a polygon budget.

The problem is that they are often ripped from games that do not have an open environment, games that only have to load a few cars and buildings at a time.

You are using the WRONG right theme!
