GTA IV and GTA V LCPD:FR

Well hello there everyone, we all have played LCPD:FR in GTA IV but now that I heard GTA V was coming out this year like march or something for PC, Will LCPD:FR move to GTA V while supporting GTA IV? I have a friend that does not know if he should buy GTA IV since GTA V is coming, He has a lot of problems playing LCPD:FR in his brothers machine but his brother didnt actually buy the game so that's why I think it is buggy for him. I myself would like to know if LCPD:FR is going to jump over to GTA V so I can actually know if I should buy it for PC.

I think it would be great to see the mod in GTA V since we see a pretty good deal of improvement with the cops and normal A.I. behavior (sometimes). What do you all think?

I know it isn't out yet but Rockstar said yes it will come out but the release date is sketchy, someone said march, another said winter, and another said in july and all that, the Release date is basically a rumor for now :(

Rockstar has in no way confirmed that it will be released, they practically don't acknowledge it's existence. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high, for all we know, it could just be another RDR situation.

Hahahaha so true, Not LCPD:FR it has to be LSPD:FR I did not even though about it xD

And well actually Rockstar did confirm the port thanks to a petition from many PC gamers. I dont know if I can put links here if it is against the rules or not, if it aint well tell me to put up the link :3

How can they (G17) know whether they will do one for V when they can't even access the files yet, nor is there a PC version?

Basically, there is no way of knowing would LCPDFR jump over to V, as of right now.

GTA V will indeed be "mod-able" if it comes out on the PC. I'm guessing that they will code it with the new format that most all PC games are coded in today. Plus mods aren't modifying the original code. It's only running scripts along side the game. I'm not saying modding a GTA V version of PC would be easy but it definitely would not be impossible. I've been watching the updates and alot of very popular gaming magizines have released statements saying its VERY likely to have a GTA V PC version and I doubt they would say that not knowing anything considering they have been very credible in the past.

We'll have to know when it's out I suppose. But something that can run scripts will certainly be needed. Aside from that, chances could be that with the format that 1.0 was released in could enable this to be very far ahead. I recall hearing from someone around that's one of the reasons why it was done like it was.

Since no one knows how different the formats of GTAV will be from IV, ti's hard to say when, and even if it'll be done. Of course, I have no issue here, and will be happy to see if it makes it to V, especially if V ends up being a far better, and stable version.

You mean this:

Not possible as if you don't have the binary or scripthook you can't work on it at all.

LCPDFR was made with a base which allows rapid deployment against another target (e.g. GTA V). LCPDFR is probably going to be able to be ported with not a lot of core changes.

Although, none of this is possible without a PC release.

I must have missed seeing this news on the Rockstar Newswire...

This is all speculation. Until R* makes an announcment, we have no idea of knowing either way.

Nope, it'll be mod-able for the PC if it comes out. It's a fact, maybe you should just researching a little harding into how their coding it and learn more about games.

And, how do you know that? I am fully aware of how modern games work. You can't just assume that it'll be mod-able. Please show me a link to where R* said that it is mod-able, and I will agree with you. Until then, we have no idea of knowing either way.

Well, let's remember, Pretty much every GTA for the PC was, and still isn't mod supported, essentially it was the community had to find a way to modify the game's behavior, be it a program like Spark IV (or equivalent) to install new models/textures.

Of course, with now some modern games is, and considering how big the Online Aspect of GTAV is supposed to be, it could make one to question whether or not one will be able to change models (textures might be possible though). Of course, I'm fairly certain someone will make something that can at least run script mods, like GTA IV or the many little other things (like Turn signals).

Of course, everything is up in the air, the only way we'll know is when it does come out. Until then, I guess we have a pretty neat mod on GTA IV that  still has a lot of potential to have things added onto it. :woot:
