  • You guys are both ass wholes. I mean clearly when it's done. I was just asking for like a time frame. Not saying i'm in a rush i just wanted to know. You could have said something more respectful. But

  • The abrupt response is because "when will it be released?" is a question that modders get asked all the time; as ineseri said, in this very thread, people have asked that very question. Often, there i

I cannot wait till it's released! It should go great with LCPD:FR v1, as previously mentioned!

It'd be a huge realism factor if Caine added more light stage configuration to ELS.

For instance, on RCMP vehicles the light stages are much different:

1. Rear Lightbar Only

2. Full Lightbar

3. Full Lighting + Traffic Advisory in slow flashing pattern

I'd also like to see easier / seperate controls to get the traffic advisory set in a click or two - perhaps even a button that when held brings up a user interface similar to that of a normal ELS control box.

Whelen, a very common North American Emergency Lighting System / Siren vendor, does not do light stages the way ELS 7.0 does.

Anyways, I'm loving the ELS 7.1 changes - keep it up!

I thought it was a joke when I read the title. Pleasantly surprised to say the least!!!

Wow, I thought v7 was the end-all, be-all. The new features look great! Can't wait for the 'off-switch' functionality in particular.

I agree with the above post. If it's not too much to ask, and while I'm incredibly grateful that more effort has been put into this, I would love to be able to choose what goes on in a particular lightstage. Could really be a game-changer.

The version that will make this the most amazing is when the invincibility/door bug is fixed. How did the creators of EVCS (Emergency Vehicle Control System) made it like ELS functions without invincibility/door bug? So it means that you could possibly fix it or team up with them?

By the way, 7.1 is very nice especially the more light patterns and dual siren

GTA4 Police Member, the invincibility/door bug will never be able to be overcome (at least I don't think so) because of the inherent way the game handles vehicle 'extras'. As the Emergency Lighting System manipulates and cycles the extras system it constantly rebuilds the vehicle restoring it to maximum health hence the 'bug'.

On the other hand the Emergency Vehicle Control System (EVCS) uses custom scripting of the default corona (non-ELS) based lighting system (I don't know as much about that script).

I hope that clarifies some aspects of ELS.

Cheers.

Wow! Looks Awesome!

I don't used ELS that much since EVCS's Beta came out, but I still have ELS v7 installed & do use it sometimes.

I wonder if we can key-bind mouse buttons now? :whistling:

I would really like that. It's much easier for me to press Mouse3 (middle mouse button) than to press Tab or any other button for the siren or airhorn.

If my post made you laugh (or giggle) in any way, smash that blue grey "Like this" button & like it

That would ultimately be up to the car modders, ELS works based on extra modules in the car model file, there's 9 different extra lights in total split over three patterns (extra 1- 4 primary lights, 5+6  takedowns/headlight flashers, 7-9 as secondary lights), the extra modules are turned on and off based on the pattern selected in ELS.

Some of these extra modules are used differently by Rockstar, lightbars and the pushbar is set up as extra modules on the original cars, that's why they flash on and off if you enable ELS on those cars.

Mods like Sam's illumination v2 and EVCS works different than ELS, I personally haven't tried either one, but it looks like both add light coronas that are switched on and off, this method means that you as a user can configure the lights used. It might be possible to do what you want to do with Illumination and EVCS.

There's a couple of different ways you can go about setting it up in Zmodeler

One way would be to set up the rear lights of the lightbar as extra 5 and 6, this would take away takedowns + headlight flashers, but leave you with the option of having a the front of the lightbar separate from the rear while maintaining TA. However the flash patterns here is very limited as there's only two lights available.

Another way is setting up the rear lightbar lights as extra 7,8 and 9, you'd have three different lights so there's a couple more patterns available, you'd also still have takedowns and headlight flashers separate from  rear and front lights, however you wouldn't have a separate TA that can flash slow.

It's a bit more complicated that what I wrote here, but I kept it simple, modders really do have a lot of freedom to get creative with their lights when they're making the model, especially if you encourage set up some lights on the model to use secondary lights, you can't use TA alone if you do it, but the model overall will have more flash patterns available for the user as primary light patters are separate from secondary light patterns.

It would be easier for me to explain in a video where I can show it in zmodeler.
