No, I am aware that there is no ELS in GTA 5...let alone for the PS3 which would allow only lights and no sirens while in the car, I was wondering if there was any trick or ANYTHING to get the lights to operate without the sirens. I am 99.9% sure this is impossible (at least on the PS3) but thought I'd ask.....you never know.

I really love the new lighting systems which I think make up for the shitty liveries. Here is my collection.

 

 

I thought this was related to the police cars: If you look very closely on the badge on the back of the taxi, it says "TAXI CAR" over "POLICE CRUISER."

Here is where I found all of mine:

 

1) Unmarked CVPI = can be found on weed missions, the black one can be found cruising around a particular train station late at night. (after midnight and before 6am) (I am out of town, so can't look at the map to reference right now, but it's like in the middle of downtown)

 

2) Marked Buffalo   = can be found cruising the same area. Be warned there are FOUR heavily armed cops in this car.

 

3) Motorcycle/Wagon = can also be found cruising in this area. BIkes can also be found in the country and wagons can be found if you piss em off enough to through out spikes.

 

4) Unmarked Buffalo = During the day between 10:30AM and NOON out in Trevorville where the big satellite dishes are. The FIB does an inspection. They WILL shoot you, but you don't get any stars for nicking it.

 

5) Unmarked SUV = same as the Buffalo. These are a rare spawn, I find a lot of times that it spawns 2 Buffalos. But some times is spawns 1 of each.

 

6) Park Ranger = There is usually one sitting outside of the broadcast tower on top of the Vinewood sign.

 

7) Sheriff CVPI = these are fairly common out in Trevorland.

 

8) Marked CVPI and Taurus = any police station.

 

 

To date I have not seen a Sheriff SUV.  For the most part NOOSE officers drive around in the unmarked SUV, I have however seen a Noose Stockade once or twice.

 

I have heard rumor that you can find unmarked Buffalos and SUVs, as well as Buzzards at the NOOSE Headquarters, however, to date I have never seen any police vehicles on their lot.

 

The prison isn't work the trouble to get these vehicles, easier to get them elsewhere

 

 

EDIT: a word of warning.... I have lost every one of these vehicles due to the garage bug before. Howver, so far I haven't lost any stored in Michael's "Shop" garage.

I highly doubt that they decided to go with these not-so-ugly liveries because of the lack of video memory on current-gen consoles.

I think it was purely intentional and is very unlikely to change.

I'd be more likely to blame budget/oversight. However, it certainly isn't related to specs - aesthetics != graphics, and this is an aesthetic choice.

That's good to know on the SUV, I will keep an eye out for it.

 

As for the NOOSE HQ, I've been there over the course of 3 or 4 days at different times and never saw a buzzard, do you happen to know of a particular time, or is it totally random?

As far as the liveries, the cruiser is pretty much the basic LAPD scheme isn't it?  I know the Patrol is based on the Taurus Interceptor "show car"  SUre they're not "thrilling" but then again most big city police departments are kinda drab.

 

i don't see what the big deal is about anyways regarding the police livery i mean who cares?

The liveries they have now are better than what they've had in any other gta game imo.  I just wish cop cars would actually spawn at the police stations online like they did in IV.

Have you guys seen the police cruiser with the weird light bar? Instead of the regular light bar it's like it has the police cruiser light bar and then under the lightbar it's a clear light bar that lights up. I saw it when Amanda called asking for help.

The CVPI comes with two different lightbars.

I prefer the LED equipped Los Santos VSPI over the Halogen ones, on the sheriff VSPI I prefer the Halogen setup. It just seems more fitting that way.

Yeah, it's like 2 led bars on top of each other, but only the bottom one flashes, right? I've seen it. It only appears in the mission where Amanda is arrested for shoplifting. I stealthed the cop out and took the cruiser, before noticing the funky lightbar. Unfortunately, the ensuing chase pretty much wrecked the car.

This video should show the different lightbar. It's a hybrid between the old and new lightbars.

I can already imagine what are the replacements for most of the cars here. Including the cop cars
