9-11-01 never forget

Recommended Posts

The day is yet here again upon us in America

as you go through the day take 5 min out of your day  for all  who lost their  life that day

to those who were indirectly/ directly / or for those of us which  are both may 1 day the wound's be able to heal

R.I.P my fellow brothers/ first responders

343 firefighters
60 N.Y. police and port authority officers
15 medic's

and to all my fellow 1st responders continuing the fire each and every single day on the streets of America some paid some vol.

eye's up,  head on a swivel, and check that 6,  only thing important is that you make it home each and every day at the end of your shift

and if its in the books that you are to lose your life don't ' worry   we have your back / beat all is safe and secure rest easy

No offense but it's been 12 and you people should think in the future, move on. I know the attack was a hard blow for the american people, but you won't get anything looking back and carrying the pain the rest of your lives. In addition, there are tragedies everyday that also take innocent people, officers and firefighters. Are these just ignored heroes?

Offense taken

its a kinda holiday outta respect for 1st responders in addition to all those who lost their lives that day  in addition its a Nation Holiday / day of remembrance and service

2n d if your gonna go there then lets go here  you could say the same about America's National Memorial day  may 31sy for the military  and bringing up the past and present conflicts   but every1 would bitch their asses off about it and be up in arm's  and say how dare we etc etc

so no we won't get over / let it go esp those of us who are 1st responder's  and those of US who were directly and indirectly affected its still just as bitter and still is raw and hurts like it was yesterday  and if you weren't then its extremely hard for you to understand

Time does not heal all wounds forget whoever said that

Well guess what its no different for 1st responder's  while the military is the front line over sea's,     First responder's are the one's who  fight the the fight on the homeland/ front lines ( thin blue line , thin red line, etc ) 1st responders are the one's who protect and guard you as you go about your daily life and some are vol. and make sure you get from poimt A to B

So tech its a daily war on America's street with 1st responders doing their damnest to keep every1 safe

3nd  if you wanna get real tech about it  here in America

cops and firefighter's death's are for the most part ignore d / brushed over  barley reported on by the media in today's  world reported for 1 - 2 days and that's it

all the while those of us who are 1st responders  go to the funerals and bear and see the grief 1st hand

and people go around tooting I hate cops, firefighter destroyed my home etc etc etc    rarely do American people stop and say thank you to police and Fire and paramedics

as opposed to the opposite where every1 goes around saying I love the military ( I've seen some act like their gods)   when in reality its 1st responders really the one's keeping you safe as you go from point  A to point B in your daily life

But the media plays up military death's / funeral's and home coming's

  so blame the media

Now back to the topic at hand and remembering 9/11/01

1 more thing if your gonna hate / bash keep moving this thread is def not the place to do it in if you do it can be looked at / will be look at as disrespectful

It's never wrong to think back of the worst and learn from it. Now, there's not much moral when we speak about 9/11, but thinking for one minute in remembrance is not only a sollace for the family but it means a lot to them as well.

WOII is also still being remembered, it's been 68 years already. Do you really think those veterans say; ''Why do we still do this..?''

Not really, I've been to a memorial recently.

Now, what if it was your parent/nurser who died because of, as an example, a car accident? Would you say; ''Why do we still think of her?'' even thought the incident would have happened either 12 or 68 years ago?

Terrible events never age.

No affence either but if you are going to say that kind of things, what are you to tell people they shouldn't remember!!!!    9/11 was one of the worst terrorist attacks in US.  We lost over 2,000 Americans. So yea if you got a problem with seeing this then just IGNORE! But im sorry too bad every 9/11 we will have this!!!! Nothing will change! (RIP All AMERICANS THAT DIED THAT DAY!)

12 years ago today a tragic event that shook the western world apart taught us how easy a major terrorist attack on US soil could take place; it's quite scary really.

RIP to everyone especially all those who fell trying to save the innocent people caught in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Never forget.

I really wanted to do something for the 12th anniversary, yet I had no idea. The very least I could do is make one of the hero trucks. I had more planned though couldn't do the project anymore because of some certain stuff. There for, here's ''something'';

This. While I feel for the victims and family that day, I hate having 9/11 brought up every time the government needs more power or wants to invade another country.

I also find it ironic that the bills passed after 9/11 were for targeting Al-Qaeda domestically, but we're about to bomb Syria in order to support Al-Qaeda overseas.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

It's been 12 years, yet the people I speak to in NY state and city on a regular basis have let it go, one's an EMT/FF in Rochester, he's accepted it happened and sees today as another work day, hanging a flag in the firehouse to remember but to keep working above all. Same for my friend living in the Bronx, her outlook on today is just treat it as yet another day and get on with life. NYC has healed and moved on, it's time for the rest of the US to stop hanging onto it and let it go. 9/11 is not a reason for the US to rip the Constitution to shreds or have drones in the streets and martial law in the cities.

Anyone remember that Ben Franklin quote about liberty and giving it up? It fits the post 9/11 world pretty well.

I absolutely, point blank hate 9/11 being used as a reason to drum up patriotism or used as a reason for a (completely bullshit) war, see OIF 2003 and the shitstorm that's entailed from it. Okay, you were attacked, you fought back, but quit holding onto it for a reason to pick a fight with people. One day the US will invade a nation and get defeated (likely by a Chinese-backed nation) and they'll run and hide.

9/11 happened. I'm not stating it didn't, It was an attack, but Spain got attacked, the UK got attacked in 2005 as well, it isn't just a US issue, it's a deeper religious issue that won't ever go away. In some ways the US is similar to the Muslim states it's at 'war' with. Iran has joined mosque and state, the US has some politicians who want church and state as one. As for your point on the military k-9, both the military and FR have their share of people who think they are gods and above reproach, it's not just one or the other, and to call it a 'war' is flat out ridiculous, so are you saying that the police and EMT and FF are at war with America? That's hard to grasp really.

Now, Americans were killed in 1941, that caused America to enter into WWII, Americans were killed in bombings and attacks pre-2001, Khobar Towers, WTC 1993, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Panama and so forth. Where's the memorials to those fallen Americans? Khobar got brushed over, Pearl Harbor's remembered as a history-twisting Hollywood butchering of history, the 1993 WTC bombing isn't a huge deal to people.

Oh and FR deaths aren't glossed over if you actually take the time to look them up and read something more than a local paper ya know. There was a lot of coverage of the 19 killed in Arizona, there's coverage of the Boxcar scandal that led to FR deaths due to insufficient aircraft (the exchanged C-130s were found to be later involved in drug smuggling in Mexico)

EDIT:

also find it ironic that the bills passed after 9/11 were for targeting Al-Qaeda domestically, but we're about to bomb Syria in order to support Al-Qaeda overseas.

Read up on who funded AQ and their motives. Scary stuff.

Also, you want to compare WWII to 9/11?

No. You want to compare six years of bloody global struggle to one day? There were more Americans killed in the European and Pacific theaters than in 9//11, there were more Americans killed in the US than on 9/11, over six and a bit years. So, one day does not compare to 1939-1945, or 900AD-2013AD in terms of holy wars.

The so-called war on terror's been going on for roughly ten years in its current form and 9/11 has been in some quarters classed as an act of war. I partly agree as the Islamic jihad's been going on for thousands of years, right back to the 9th or 10th century with the Ottoman Empire and their conquests of Europe.

This was a tragic time in America, and a wake up call to many countries. God bless the survivors, the victims, the families and friends, and the ones who gave there lives and died innocent. RIP.

Never Forget.

@Strike #OffenceTakenHard

@c13 Though our government may sadly use this time to an advantage, hundreds of people still died innocently in a fight to save them self and others.

@Celtic Many people use it as a time to drum up patriotism, but some don't. Some people, this is the day that has turned there lives around, that has left their heart incomplete forever, some that nearly ruined their lives. It doesn't matter what people do as support of this day and what not, hundreds still died, and that is why we do such a thing. So the yorks got over it, that is fine, but that doesn't change the facts.

Someone who talks out of my mind ^^

And I care about that attack but it's 12 years ago and every year there are many reports in the TV and every year the same.

Today we're here memorial1.jpg at the memorial place of the Twin Towers where 3000 people died in 2001 and now it's been 10-11-12 years ago, and all the other people know that. The only changing thing is the number of years in those reports -.-

(Don't get this like, I don't care what happened there, I really feel sorry for all those people who lost a family member)

yes it doesn't make any sense...I believe that the criminals responsible for 911 have yet to been brought to justice

Yes, it's not something anybody here will soon forget.  The attack ruined thousands of lives, not just those killed, but their family, children who will never see their parent(s), friends, relatives...the ripple effect goes on and on through the lives of thousands more that have to live with the loss to this day.  It certainly does not seem like 12-years ago, seems like yesterday to me.

So you jackasses that think we should forget about it....FYOU in the ASS fuckers!!!  Tell me that when you lose your peeps, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, in some insane murder that takes out thousands of your peeps.  Some of you make me sick and violent.

I would also like to mention the fantastic job that the Air Traffic Controllers did. And I know, no one ever thinks about it but they managed to land 4,000 planes safely in a bout a 3 hour window. That is just impressive. It takes a lot to do that and they got the job done.

I remember. But I find it amusing how much offense a logical statement by Strike gets from Americans. He is right and I agree with him 100%. I don't care what anybody says, but I won't just conform and feel sorry for what everyone else states I should. I'll decide that for myself. FYI, I'm in a pissy mood today, so I won't really give 2 shits on an icicle about what anybody thinks about me.
