The True Taxi Bug Fix (Combination with TrafficControlSystem.net.dll) Link in Description

Featured Replies

Do you want to fix the taxi bug in GTA 4 even with modded cars?

then your in the right place

It does work. First the traffic is medium traffic and spawns a very VARIETY OF CARS! and without slow or missing road/building  textures! really!  the taxis are only 3-5/10 of the traffic and the remaining 7-5/10 are cars, rare sport cars, TRUCKS, Busses and more! with equal spawn!    Also some realistic handlings

(It is RECOMMENDED if you have only modded Police, Police2, Polpatriot, NStockade, FBI or fewer in vehicles.img. the rest you could mod weapons.img and componentped.img and others)

1. First put the folder "common" in your Grand Theft Auto IV directory (C>Program Files>Rockstar Games>Grand Theft Auto IV)

it contains carcols.dat, cargrp.dat, filelist.pak, handling.dat, popcycle.dat, vehicles.ide (I know, example handling.dat isn't really needed for making the taxi bug fix, they are only for realistic handling, if you only want to put it. So you can put them all to have realistic stats in the game)

Put trafficcontrolsystem.net.dll to scripts folder

2. Then Launch Grand Theft Auto IV

*For People with problems with missing or slow loading textures

3. DON'T START THE GAME YET, go to options, go to Graphics Tab, and edit the following

Texture Quality:        Low
Reflection Resolution:   Low
Water Quality:           Low
Shadows Quality:         Medium
Night Shadows:    Medium

Vehicle Density: 11
Detail Distance: 11
View Distance:   22

4. START THE GAME!

*Its up to you to edit any changes

Thanks for trying!

LOL.

There is no way you can fix the taxi bug without scripts. No edits to the files can do it, as the game will simply spawn the smallest model, and that is the taxi.

carcols.dat, filelist.pak, handling.dat, pedVariations.dat don't affect car spawning at all.

And let's not forget that the purpose of the taxi fixes is to fix the bug without sacrificing the graphic quality.

First time Ive heard somebody say that lowering your settings the Graphics menu help you fix the taxi bug..

Just like Yard said the only way to fix taxi bug is to use a script mod. And its the easiest way too, no need to edit 10 files. Just put 1-3 files to the /scripts folder/main folder and youre done.

Let's not forget that the file edits won't work anyway.

I don't want to completely lower my graphics on my high end computer when all I have to do is download one script and keep running on the highest settings, thanks.

(run on sentence ftw)

lowering the graphics setting would make the slow or missing texture fix, so i recommended it to users who have the missing or slow textures loading to make it a perfect gta with this Real Taxi bug fix

Let's not forget that the file edits won't work anyway.

I know that file edits would only make more or less traffic but does not fix the taxi bug much, but with cooperation with a mod would make it possible.

You could only lower your graphics settings if you have slow or missing textures on roads, buildings, but still looks good, so for you you could make you settings in high because you have a high end computer, so you only have to do is put "common" folder into your GTA IV main directory and put trafficcontrolsystem.net.dll to your scripts folder, then taxi bug Fixed!

Eh. Trafficcontrolsystem has been around for a while, and there are better alternatives like Traffic Flow or Real Traffic.

It's not like you are discovering something new, y'know.

3t6pa79.png

Any script that doesn't use methods like Traffic Flow or Traffic Load, etc., isn't worth using.  Things like Traffic Control System delete and spawn new cars - you do not under any circumstances want to use a script like this as it can cause a whole host of issues - imagine that a script (like LCPDFR) is using a car and then one of these scripts just deletes it.  Crash.

The issue with the taxi bug is quite simple really.  The taxi is the most common car in GTA IV.  When you install car mods you mess up the memory of the game - it simply isn't built with car mods in mind.  GTA IV is meant to be run as it is supplied in its original format and since there is no modding support whatsoever, things can really go very wrong when you change this.
