Half-Life 3: Will it happen?

Doesn't this belong in the 'Other Games' section of the forum? Also, no.

On another note, who here has seen the "Half-Life 3 Confirmed" comments around the Internet? I get a laugh out of them.

They go something like this.

6 words in the title, seperated into 2 sections by a colon

6/2=3

HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED

3 people who posted here have numbers in their username - Half Life 3 Confirmed.

Anyways, I personally have no idea whether or not HL3 will be released or not.  I wouldn't be surprised either way -- although I really hope there is a HL3.

Valve has said that the Half Life 2 episodes ARE Half Life 3. Literally, I believe they phrased it as "we should have called it Half Life 3 Episode 1 and 2, not HL2: E1,2".

There were some concept art/fan made images leaked I'll guess, for Half-Life: 2 - Episode 3.

Rumors have always been around and Valve is working on something big as they haven't released a game for a while now.

Left 4 Dead 3 has been rumored as well.

Am I the only one on the world wide web that doesn't give a shit about HL3?

The games look bland, they just don't appeal to me.

You're not the only one Harper :P

And to be a bit on-topic: I have no idea if it will happen, but I honestly don't really care because they don't appeal to me...

This is what happens when I get this anxious for a game. I start messing around with the web-address. And look what I found a few months ago!

http://orange.half-life3.com/

Hate to let you down, but if you do a who-is lookup, that domain was registered in 1999, one year after the original Half Life game debuted.

http://www.whois.com/whois/half-life3.com

Epic Games did something similar with Unreal Tournament. After UT2003 and UT2004 were smash hits, they registered the domains all the way up until 2011 as a precaution in case they decided to make it a yearly franchise like the NBA, MLB, NFL or NHL games. As it turns out, they didn't. They made UT2007, and ended up changing the name before release to Unreal Tournament III to forever squash talk about yearly releases.

That URL is a placeholder in case Valve ever decides to make a Half Life 3.
