After several reinstalls of the software, more and more I'm thinking about doing away with ELS altogether. It seems that once I've got ELS cars added in, and ELS running that my game is extremely unstable and prone to crashes whenever an ELS vehicle is spawned. I played the game for hours with stock cars and no crashes. Is it just my version of ELS? I'm running V6. I really hate to lose the epicness of ELS enhanced vehicles, but I also like playing the mod without crashes. Anyway. What do you guys do or have you found any way to make the game more stable with ELS added in?

Try playing with v5, it crashes a lot less

that fixed the problem for me:

1. I use ELS v5

2. i only use ELS Cars to replace the Noose and the FBI car. I use non els cars for Police 1 and police 2 (there is a awesome non ELS Caprice on gtainside)

Of course stability is a reason (even though I never installed it so it might even work fine for me), but the main reason mainly is that I don't like the door bug. Also, I've heard that AI has trouble using it, so I'm sticking with non-ELS modded cars.

I've found in 0.95 beta that the AI has gotten really good at using ELS. I've found a few Non-ELS models that are pretty nice looking. I'm going to give V5 a shot and see how it goes, and if its still a hassle I guess I'm switching back to non ELS modded cars.

Right at the moment I am strictly non ELS, for stability reasons and also because I don't want anything interfering with my game. I used to have ELS and I loved it, V5 never crashed for me. When the final release is out I will probably switch back.

I use V6, and it seems to work just fine with ELS enabled for the Player only ( no Ai ) But i don't like the doors bug myself, but there are some things geeks like myself can ignore for the sake of realism :-)

And i've also noticed the better stability with ELS and 0.95. Can play for hours and hours without Force quitters.. And i run almost every car Police1, Police2, Noose, FiB, Ambulance, and FireDept with ELS..

Main thing is that i tend to update the car models often, if there is a new version out there.. Some Models seem to work better than others, and i really hope that both ELS devs and LCPD devs talk together to combine these two mods, as they are awesome and outstanding together! A must for the real GTA gamer :-P

"LCPDFR hasn't and never will support car modifications." That's from a developer; I doubt that that will change. Usually the mods work fine together though.

I think the only thing that really irritates me about having non els cars is that I can't just leave my lights running without a siren on. The door bug doesn't bother me much. Right now i've found a great CVPI that is non-els and i just played the game for about 1.5 hours with no crashes. Going to try ELS V5 and see if that smooths anything for me.

The thing that's in my way of playing perfectly right now seems to be the inability to arrest or call for backup after a little while. That's a beta bug, not ELS. It used to piss me off but .95 seems to be more compatible with it for whatever reason.

Well of course not.. That is not the main goal of the LCPDFR mod in general.. and supporting that would be really hard.. But on the other hand, modders should sometimes get together and have a drink, and combine their efforts :)

And since 90% of the users of the mod use custom cars and skins... it should not be to hard to at least consider the chance that the mod possibly in the future could support ELS fully too.. That is my wet dream :)

And yes, the mods tend to work fine up on each other :-P Had a misfire when i tried to customize every car in the game and spawn some with SnT.... Poor Nico didn't manage to get one car befor the game crashed.. a pity..

and unr3al, i hear that.. i kind of feel the need for some backup on those twisted suicide guys sometimes.. thank god for ELS cars :) Invincible!

I used to play with ELS, but I removed it because of beta testing 0.95, and even though I can play with ELS without crashes, I probably won't.

Use ELS V5, it helps alot, it never crashes to me, V6 crashed every 5 minutes (With AI, but without AI its boring so I changed to v5).

I think all of the devs go strictly non ELS, and I'm probably the only one that ever uses any car mods of any type.

For some reasons, I think ELS version 4 is the best one because it's clear and simple. It also work with most car light-bars. The door bug is something that anybody could ignore, but the best thing about it is that it protect your car from any accident or bullets.

The first one Steve uses I just installed. Awesome car I have to say! I may stop using ELS, taking a break, there is many new Non-ELS coming out now.

I liked useing the non els IMPALA V3.7M, and the CROWN VICTORIA V2.5M, pureley because you got a unmarked and marked in police1 and marked and unmarked police2 so you get 4cars for replaceing just police1,2.

I thought Jay said car mods will always crash you due to GTA not comprehending them? That didn't make sense to me if you can fit the car model itself in the same amount of space, per se. I never had trouble in GTA III either, but I know that was a different game engine.
