I would also like to give my gratitude and thanks towards the LCPDFR staff for their excellent mod and support!

I can't start my own post on the Suggestions board for some reason, so I am posting it here (and also in a thread in the Suggestions board). Here are a couple of suggestions that I have to add to the discussion:

1) Callouts with locations closest to you rather than in set places are much more fun to deal with, not to mention more realistic. In the latest version, I have to drive halfway across the city sometimes!

2) Have the police be able to make traffic stops and arrest random NPC. I know that the game has regular people disturbing the peace and running from the police, but it'd be nice to see other cops make traffic stops besides me. Especially since all those sporty cars tend to run the red lights anyway!

3) Your partner should be more responsive. In the 0.95 beta, your partner would protect you from most bad guys. Now, he'll only shoot once in a while, and most likely die because he doesn't protect himself. When you open your trunk, it should heal and clean the clothes of your partner too! (That for yourself only was already an excellent addition, BTW.)

4) In the latest mod, while pressing "E" to arrest someone, nearby cops will teleport out of their police cars. When they are in motion, they look like they are flying out of their windshield and into the street! This did not happen with the other mods, where your partner will reappear somewhere everytime you arrest someone. Just an annoying bug that appears hard to get rid of!

5) When performing CPR, your character drops down on his knees twice, and upon the second time he will say something. Can it be adjusted to only drop down once and still say his line?

6) The newest update brings with it a new taser. I have a question about the taser addon itself. What happens if I am using custom weapons.img and weaponsinfo.xml files due to modded weapons and modded weapon statistics? Which file(s) and/or value(s) would I need to add/change to use the taser?

It doesn't hurt Ford, Motorola, Whelen, Federal Signal, etc. in any way that their products are depicted in third party modifications that are available for free. You can bet your arse that they will dispatch a seize and desist letter faster than a fat kid hurries to MacD if someone were to charge money for the mods.

Couple of nights back I got banned from Facebook for apparently using a fake name, However my name is legitt. It's my real name however Facebook keeps stating it's fake...I've tried to contact them about this being wrong but no response...

I can't even make a new account because their system reads my name as fake... Storm Pedersen is my real damn name.

Also, How does Facebook even figure out my name is fake? That's the scary part.

It's official. I'm making an LCPDFR meme series.

Break, I think you're being a little aggressive here. I agree that the amount of cars that join up gets a little excessive. In real life, it would be fine because the cars don't floor it and they fall in line. In the game they do not. Say what you want about polygons but this mod is more about how many vehicles bashing around the street we want to put up with. Remember that screenshot 1adam put up showing all the vanilla cars? It was a total clusterf*ck at the end of the chase. Suppose I call backup 3 times and then over a long chase I pass a bunch of stragglers? That's not fair to say "you should only get this, you're doing it wrong".

My frame-rate actually doesn't suffer badly enough after a chase with a bunch of cars to piss me off. It's just about how many cars I'm willing to dodge to avoid dying when I try to pull the driver out.

I come from St. Louis where I received some Law Enforcement training and minored in Criminal Justice in college, I am by no means an expect and things may have changed since over time but I believe that the situation is left to the officers discretion when it comes to an armed suspect. A fleeing suspect will be very difficult to justify shooting, especially if their back is to the officer, I'd assume that'd be a case by case basis and certainly investigated heavily by Internal Affairs. The officer will have had to use ALL of his other means to subdue the suspect and to prevent the situation from escalating. This means going through the Law Enforcement Use of Force Continuum, you will have head to exhaust all other means of force (not literally).

Shooting always have negative impacts upon society, thus, they are certainly a last resort. Taking a live with deadly force is taking away someone's child, brother, lover, or friend. It will often have negative consequences associated with it and can sometimes escalate an already tense community situation into a more dangerous situation for the department and community at large. Gangs may retaliate against the department, the populace can become less cooperative, and the department can lose respect and authority within the community.

Violence should always be a last resort, especially when we have tazers and other non-lethal methods. I think many of you are lucky LCPD apparently has no Internal Affairs ;)

p.s. Shooting in the foot isn't legit either, lol. This ain't the wild west!

Was patrolling in the russian district of Broker with a partner. Pulled a car over for running a red light. Check the drivers name and his license is revoked. Ask him to step out the car. At that moment two cars have a traffic accident behind me, both drivers get out and they start to fight. I run over to try and stop the fight and press E on one of the guys. He put his hands up but a gun drops out and fires when it hit the ground, down goes my partner. Then 3 or 4 of the random russian guys decide to pull out their guns and shoot me. Backup didn't come in time :sad:

Short sleeved police officers

I decided to do this texture mod since there was none laying around for short sleeved police officers. This mod won't replace any current outfits for police officers, this just adds short sleeves. They use the corresponding skins so you won't see any black officers with white hands or vice versa.







Security Guard Cop Assist mod

Are you tired of security guys who won't actually do anything? Tired of watching them get shot by the police in a poor confused AI's act of self defense? Well, this mod is just for you then! This makes security guards able to arrest you for any crimes you'll do, or have wanted level already. They will also open fire on you, if over one star. They are also friendly with the police now, so they won't exchange fire back and forth anymore. No, the won't be patrolling with LCPD, they'll happily stay at their regular guard posts after conflict.





Fit Security Guards

Tired of fatty security guys that can be outrun too easily, look ugly and are big targets out in the open? If yes, this mod is for you.

This mod changes security guys to fit ones! They're alot harded to outrun and aren't that big targets anymore!
It changes their walkstyle and scenario animations to fit ones. Their voices are also changed to different ones.

They're pretty much cops re-textured to look like security guys, with right uniform colour, badges and patches.





Armoured LCPD Officers

Crime is on the raise and it's getting mighty dangerous to work out in the streets, what do you do?

Deploy armoured police officers of course! With their protective body armor, they're ready to take on nearly anything perps will hit them with!

Alright, 'nuff shittin' y'all. They're armoured guards textured to look like LCPD officers. I also gave them a cap and two new head textures to give them slightly more variety.

I know its happened to me a bunch, and its extremely annoying, 15 backup units and you all chasing one guy and crashing into each other. I found out (painstakingly tedious finding out) that if you edit the popcycle.dat file in GTAIV/Common/Data and change all the values for police cars to 1, it drastically cuts down on the amount of police in the game, and also makes it so you don't start a train of police cars on every chase. I had a chase that normally would attract at least 10 back up units (that I didn't even call, they were just roaming LC) only attract 1 straggler. The chase ended with 3 units and myself in pursuit, two that I called and one that was randomly picked up. Editing the file is very tedious and very time consuming, but worth it.

When someone is laying injured on the ground, just make sure you revive them instead of heading to the hot dog vendor on the side of the street like the AI ones in GTA IV. lol

Did you edit the config for the trainer and disable the keybindings? I had to do that to get ELS working alongside SNT.

@Unr3al Maybe you could let me beta test your Sheriff's uniform, and I could leak it to the public, then you could be forced to do an early release and people could complain about how the shoulder patches don't look right and that you shouldn't have rushed it out.

I have done a commandline.txt, made by different commands made by different people, I mixed it all together and made a brand new commandline.txt!

That fixed my lag/stutter completely, I recommend it to everyone, if it doesn't help, unlucky...
I did it and it worked.

HOW TO INSTALL

Download it.

Put it in your MAIN GTA IV folder.

If it worked, have a glass of cola and enjoy your lag free IV.

(Note: If your computer is real bad, or atleast can't make the IV, this MAY fix it, this is not guaranteed, but it will reduce lag a little!)
