Police Tactics - Real Sim

Featured Replies

Lol, looks like the one... we had a leaked file

We had a problem with a guy, anyway... he wants the file so bad and pretended to be someone else. We even sent the file. I do hope you are not the one I am talking about ;), otherwise, why not tell us where it is hosted?

Anyway, have fun with it... it is old though, new version will be available for everyone next week, with much more content and a real city map working.

I don't know also why spread this, the game is not a big title yet and this things could only end helping us anyway :)

It's a shame that people can't wait for your official alpha release. I mean you'll provide it for free and we'll be playing very soon. Thus, why on earth do so many people try to get their hands on things they shouldn't (yet)? Without judging anybody in particular, in my  opinion this is stealing and doesn't help anyone. I for my part will enjoy the game when its alpha is available and I will happily pay for the finished game later on.

Nice feedbacks here :)

@celticfang

For now, is not need, we really appreciate you are following us. When time comes, we will start our comercial plans for the game. We also got in contact with a publisher from Germany, but negotiations were not good for us, so we are keeping our way. In fact, my company does not make money yet from games like this one, we are in no rush and we want to keep the game as much fun as we can think for now.

@Bravuogn

Agree, totally. But we are not worried about this, we don't really even care, because this version will be free. For beta versions and, lets say close to a release, we always make contracts before anything, no matter what.

And thanks for helping us :)

@taximan5

I hope you enjoy  the game also :)

I will release a video gameplay of this version today, there will be more features until next week, but this video will show nice things, I will let you know

Hey @celticfang

Civilians can or cannot provide all info about the suspect, this was finished today ;)

For now, arresting is like in Swat 3 and 4 games, you have to keep a button pressed and a bar will fill. We are thinking about it yet, also, we cannot please everyone, unfortunatelly :(

But we will do our best to check what the community wants. With this version, probably, we will make a forum for the game.

I just got an idea (haven't really put much thought into it though :teehee: )

You could make a few common versions (LCPD:FR style, Swat style, etc.) & then in the 'Gameplay options' menu, have the player select what he/she wants. This, of course, would have to be worked on after release, when you will be thinking of adding to/improving the game.

Same could go for HUD Details, make everything removable. There was one game, Euro Truck Sim 2, which I played where you could (one-by-one) disable the HUD, and you could remove it entirely, if you wanted. I thought that was very cool :smile:

Can't wait for the gameplay video & Alpha release :thumbsup:

Sounds a LOT like DLC really, the versions thing that is.

IF you guys wanted to go a demo route, why not the ETS2 route (Euro Truck Sim 2). The demo is pretty much the full map...but it ends after....I think it's 6 cities found or a certain number of KMs driven. It works pretty well. ETS2's hud is working well and i like the version ideas as DLC or mods that can 'slot' into the main game itself.

The demo route idea is good, considering if the game's going to be paid (which I think it might be).

I don't see why it (my idea) should, or would be a DLC.

That's like saying, for example, I bought this racing game, & there's no HUD for current Speed & RPM, because it's part of a DLC, which is ridiculous.

I suggested this just so it would make it easier for some people. And it gives more variety to how you can do stuff.

The reason why I said it might be worked on after release, is so that the 2 Devs can just concentrate on making the game & making it (it's base) really good. Then, they can go adding stuff like this, or other stuff, like maps, etc.

Because it is DLC. Addon modes, addon cars or skins or weapons? DLC

If you want to go down that route, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is DLC, GTA IV's Episodes? DLC. Like it not they are DLC, just renamed. Even mods can get called DLC.

EDIT: The reason I said DLC is because DLC is the norm now, consumers accept it. Ten or twenty or thirty years ago, you had expansion packs, you had actual boxed addon packs in a store, whereas now it's tiny things.

It's the same though, just another name. That's the point I'm making.

The ETS2 demo is a pretty good demo as well, with the map open and a 5,000km or 6 city limit then it ends. (which really isn't that much if you just do missions)

Hey all,

No DLS thoughts at the moment, lol, so I cannot say anything about this yet.

Here it is, fresh video of new gameplay

Thanks, @RTZVI. I don't know about that game, so, can't say about it. But I am sure they must be doing a hard work in there, and I will look forward to play it also ;)

Very VERY promising. This is really starting to have some great potential to be the proper police simulator we've all wished of having for years.

I'm aware its in alpha, but here's some things I've noted;

  • Animations are obviously a key point to focus on
  • Ambient lighting on the NPC vehicles (such as headlights) don't feel like lights
  • Speech - I'm sure you are already planning on this but the officer you control needs more speech files
  • Modding - You've said its difficult in unity and I respect that. If you do decide to incorporate modifications, I can see people (including myself) changing things such as the player model, the car and the siren to their own liking.

That being said, awesome work so far dude. I'm really liking what I'm seeing

hey Harper,

I really appreciate you feedback and help about mods. This is something still for the future, so, unfortunatelly, can't promise anything.

Yeah, animations are not well sync, this is something to improve. Same answer for the other questions, lol. Speech is something I really want to improve much more... lets see how this will be

Thanks

Will the off duty mode be available in the alpha? I've been really looking forward to how this concept will work out.

From watching the video all I saw (I believe) for calls were armed robberies. Will those be the only available ones in the alpha?

One thing I didn't see in the alpha is...and I'm sure it's being worked on....

Is the ability to pull people over and ticket them or do whatever else. i don't mind the bodies or arrested perps disappearing, I can look past that, I'm wondering how the pull over system will work.

My worry is it'll become repetitive really when you're on patrol doing the same thing (which LCPDFR falls victim to) and off duty. Though a real patrol can get repetitive too so there is that...but hey I believe you can pull it off and I'm keen to play the alpha

Thanks you all people :)

Answering all question, to keep it short, yes, lol

What you see is what will be present in this first alpha. I know its not that much, but I really want to finish the main systems first (nice NPC handling, cars AI, etc), so we can work on real missions and police actions. I pretend to add more actions for the first alpha, but I still can't say what more. Time is short and... well, I am the only one programming the game (and I will keep it that way for now), lol.

I will keep you informed ;)

To answer your question in the Blog:-

I wouldn't mind if you take a little more time to finish that part of the city.

I'm speaking for myself only, since nowadays I'm a bit distracted by the GTA:V info being released, & by my Blender project.
