Has anyone come up with a way to stop the crashing from happening with ELS 7? With ELS 7 i crash after approx 5-10 minutes of game play.... but if i have ELS6 in i don't crash.... Anyone have any ideas on why or how to fix this issue?

I been wondering the same thing I only crash when im at the safehouse then crashes before walking outside I use xliveless and it doesn't crash but would be nice to figure out why it crashes with dsound

Yes, it does. I had an issue for a while that would make it crash on the loading screen. Whenever I took out V7, it worked. I was able to fix this by reinstalling though.

Thats funny cause i put 6 back in an my game runs perfectly fine. I just tried to use the g17 IV diagnostic tool and this is what i get.  It says my GTA IV isn't detected..... But i have the damn game on my computer and it is a legal copy off of steam. does anyone know what this means?

Yes, it does. I had an issue for a while that would make it crash on the loading screen. Whenever I took out V7, it worked. I was able to fix this by reinstalling though.

 

I thought it was an issue with the install of V7 so i uninstalled and reinstalled it like 8 times and no luck..... so Ive just reverted to uninstalling GTA IV all together and installing it again.... eliminating the possibility of possible scripts that might conflict with it or scripts that might be in that shouldn't. I guess i will know the answer after the game finishes installing (Slow internet+18 hours)

All I know is that ELS 7 is much more stable than ELS 6. For those that are having issues after 10-15 mins with ELS 7, I recommend you uninstall mods and re-install all mods starting with LCPDFR. Or just stick with ELS 6 if that works for you better.

Then NB lied to us...or you installed it wrong. Because I have not had one problem with ELS V7

if your getting the 3 star crash or the noose crash in the ini file set the Ai to off, fixed it for me. sure persuits are alot less...flashy, but hey I dont crash :D

Or maybe our PC's are setup differently than yours and this difference is what caused crashes. The main reason why a lot of big companies stay away from PC gaming is because PC's can be setup so differently that it's nearly impossible to test what components work and don't.

 

Don't claim that I installed V7 wrong, it's nearly impossible to screw up placing files into the main directory and I tried that multiple times (something tells me being part of the testing team for LCPDFR means I know how to install something as simple as ELS). I don't have any problems now, but I did until I reinstalled GTA 4 (and I kept everything else the same btw).

Yea i'm hoping after i deleted GTA IV and currently reinstalling it. Im hoping that fixes my crashing issue that i am having. If anything maybe C13 you can help me out

I know that for a while, I was getting the issue of the game crashing after I walked outside the safehouse, but it turned out to be that I had an outdated copy of vdH PoliceHelper; when I updated, it was all fixed.  I would recommend making sure you have the lastest version if you have Police Helper.

Ok so i reinstalled GTA IV and put back in the mods and scripts i have. i am having an issue changing setting like screen resolution and everything else. Before i had a command line in and i don't remember the command line or how to even do it. If someone can help me out that would be nice. thanks

If ELS7 crashes on you, it's most likely due to something YOU have done.

 

If anyone wants to report in, with ELS7 crashing on a reinstalled vanilla game, with no mods (except obviously ELS car mods to run it), feel free to reply. Otherwise I'm just gonna call this incompetence of some users to keep their installation clean.

This is why i have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it to make sure i had a fresh start. Now my problem is the fact that i HAD a command line in because im currently running with my 46" wide plasma t.v. as my monitor...... my gta iv is only allowing me to see the game in a 3"x5" box. and i cant adjust any graphic settings.

I too seemed to have a problem with ELS v7. My game would crash just before you select GTA: IV or EFLC. I dunno about you but I managed to work my way around it by taking out all ELS folders and replacing Vehicle.ide with the default one then starting my game up, quitting, putting back ELS and Vehicle.ide and my game works fine. However it seems to becoming a trend for me that every new ELS car I install I have to do this.

 

Just a thought, may as well try it, I've heard replacing your vehicle.ide with the default then installing your ELS cars again works, I dunno.

When I installed ELS7, 95% of the time GTA would crash about 3 seconds after loading into the game in Niko's apartment. "GTA IV Has Stopped Working". I tried everything I could think of that was easy and nothing worked. So I reverted back to a old backup (I make backups every few months so I don't have to do a full uninstall/reinstall, just copy/paste). I re-installed FR, all my script mods, car models, player mods, etc and ELS. Now everything works like a charm, I've launched the game at least 4-5 times now and its worked great. So if your having any issues try re-installing. I know its a pain in the a** but it worked for me and others.
