Ok probably been asked before but i couldn't find it in the search. I'm using a GameStop digital download and can't seem to listen to my music that I put in the GTA IV music user profile directory. I put the mp3's in then turn to independence radio and hear commercials is all, what am I doing wrong? lol

Also the digital download is coming up in a 2K folder and not a gamestop or idk goes C:/program files/2k Games/ Grand Theft Auto IV and the music user profile is in documents/rockstar games/ GTA IV/ User music.

any ideas?

I am having the same problem.

this happened to me to I just installed police pursuit mod then start the game then quit and uninstalled it and worked for me...wierd

The format has to be .mp3 I believe. Only the ones I highlighted work in-game. EDIT: Except First Date

Right that's weird and ya I have .mp3 format I do believe here is a clip capture of what I have.

You should make sure that in your audio settings for GTA, you have the Independence Radio set to either Sequential or Shuffle, and NOT "radio".

Mine is set to radio and I can still listen to my own music with commercials between different tracks I have got.

I wonder does it have anything to do with flash player for social club?

edit: nvm tried still commercials lol - the radio announcer "bloody hell we've got another commercial break"

Put the music somewhere else and create a shortcut in the user music folder to each song. That's what I have to do.

I'm thinking that there is a way to import music into radio independence .rpf via spark or openIV. But how to convert to .ivaud idk.

Only if you use some sort of mobile radio mod - there's one included with Simple Native Trainer, but I use this radio mod because I think the key to skip songs in the SNT one is coded as N and not changeable.

Enable the radio station through your trainer. Chances are is the scanner will only play through your patrol car.

This is something i read sometime ago on several GTA forums about the possibility of how the mp3s were encoded,  bitrates,  size,  etc..

 

That may not work ingame.    I dont know how much truth is in there.

 

I can't get mine to work,  so i've stopped trying.
