I have to ask...

Featured Replies

Can anyone opperate FR stable with no issues? Is it possible? Why Im asking is that for some reason or another, ive installed gta numerous times, I always back up my files in the chance something goes wrong, but when ever i do a clean install and only add the bare essentials, acouple cars (3 police ones) and (2 weapon appearance changes) which to me seems pretty basic, the game will run ok for awile then I get the buildings start disapearing thing. My machine can handle this game, its a quad core, with 8 gigs of ram, runs on windows 7 64bit, lots of harddrive space ect.. I mean I can run battlefield3 on this baby with no issues.

And part of me is getting fustrated because I love roleplaying as a cop, Im from a cop family so police interactions and cars and what not really intrigue me and its something Im into. My father actually collected roof lights and different police department emblems, and I grew up on it hehhe, so being able to roleplay as a cop in this game is something I really enjoy.. but at each turn it seems I cant :(

Anyways just asking for maybe some advice on how to actually run FR without any problems.

Cheers

Laz

Hi there,

Answering your question straight up, it is possible to run LCPDFR with stability and little to no issues. Your first option is to use LCPDFR Version 0.91, as it is the most stable out of two released for the public. The most recent

version of LCPDFR currently contains script bugs and errors which may cause some users some gameplay issues. The LCPDFR Dev Team is working on RC3 which mainly fixes these bugs. In addition to this, you may want to try

using a traffic flow script of you haven't already (Such as ). TrafficFlow should be able to fix your "Disappearing Buildings" issue.

Secondly, if you would rather use LCPDFR V.095, you may want to limit the amount of ELS enabled vehicles you have installed onto your game. ELS is known to crash users so limiting the amount  of enabled cars should help

(Example - Leave Police and Police2 Non-ELS and have Noose and FBI slots replaced with ELS enabled cars). The mod itself is recommended to be run with little to no other modifications to the game for stability. Using TrafficFlow

or any other traffic loader is recommended with this option as well.

Thanx guys for some feedback on this.

Ive tryed to limit what I use, but yeah I didnt think 3 els models would effect it much, guess not haha. Alright Ill try to limit what I use from now on, and try some of what you guys have suggested. I have used trafflicflow which I really love, good way to mix the cars up so theres not to many of the nice ones. But I like that idea using the fbi cars ect as your main cars, limits whats out there. Ill give it a shot and see how it works :)

Any car mods can affect game stability. ELS cars can literally have ten times as many polygons as default cars. Limiting ELS to cars that don't normally spawn is a really good way to help, but you can always have issues.

Out of curiosity, what cars dont spawn very often??

If you're meaning out of police vehicles, vehicles like the Pstockade, Nstockade, NoOse Cruiser, FIB Buffalo, and if you have TBoGT then the Police Bike, Police Stinger or the APC thing, alot of people i find only mod the those slot's mentioned, not Police 1 or 2

Wait, so 0.91 is the most stable? Why would someone choose 0.95 then?

I said that referring to cop cars.

you are probably using els v6 which causes the crashes thats the problem i had when i first started playing lcpdfr...els v5 is much more stable and you should be able to use as many els cars as you want without crashing...try v5

Yeah using v6, ill give v5 a shot while doing the other stuff. Ive noticed a big change now that i only role one car "els model" instead of having all 3. Figure what ill do is if I want to change it up ill just go over that file. If anything goes wrong i can just grab my backup and redo it.

Some people don't really mind the bugs and would rather have the updated features of V0.95. It depends on one's own decision really.

I have LCPDFR installed, along with the latest beta of policehelper and the METT mod etc along with the majority of my weapons modded including sounds, ELS V6 all the police vehicles modded and some civi cars too and I crash very rarely and that's usually due to me spawning a shit load of annihilators.

Nice, Its not that i crash its just that eventually the buildings and roads fall apart. But eventually it just gets so bad that it might as well crash. Ive limited myself to what ive installed, trafflic flow, modded two of the weapons, especially the m4 as i prefer a more tactical looking weapon. And Im only using 2 vehicles that are modded, noss, fbi, so I have one patrol unit and one unmarked. So far its doing well and havent had much issues. Ive heard people talking about editing the game to allow it to use as much memory (by applying some sort of command code) as possible (due to all the polygon counts some of the vehicles have) which usually is the main cause of issues, but from what ive heard it can cause pc issues.

Would be nice if we could mod all the cars in game including police and not worry about it going nuts. This game could look so unreal with all the mods out there.

Crashing can be caused by a lot of things..... Well for me, I have modded my whole game, replaced every so how civi car, used extremely high poly cars, ELS v6, beta testers' version of the PoliceHelper, METT, Towing script, Siren tool, policing script 2.2, LCPDFR 0.95 RC2 R2, indicator script with very rare crashing..... I can play IV for more than 4 hours straight with no crashing. Try using low poly models it would work.

Traffic Flow causes the texture bug, as well as the high-poly ELS cars, both will wreck your textures in-game if not careful and/or have a high end 'puter.  I can use all high poly police cars with ELSv5 with no texture issues IF I don't use Traffic Flow (I prefer Traffic Load personally, along with Traffic Control, no texture issues to speak of).  Using the traffic fixes, I have to limit my high-poly els vehicles to NOOSE, FBI, Nstockade and PStockade or I start getting the texture bug within 20-minutes of play.

Good day,
