REQ: LASD slicktop

Featured Replies

I posted this awhile ago and no one got back to me. There are a lot of new modders since I posted this and I was hoping one of you would be willing to give it a try, its pretty unique and there aren't any cars like this on this site or GPM. Please let me know if you can/will do this! thanks

Here's a link to the original thread so I don't have to re-upload the pictures and such

I've been working on something similar. also the back doesn't have a:

R-AA-A__A-AA-B setup but the outer modules have dualcolour LED's which I personally disgust.

The original prototypes did have the all red on the left and all blue on the right...but you're right, the ones that are actually 10-8 are split...I don't mind them either way, I really appreciate you doing this. I honestly think these are some of the coolest slicktop's around...

Hopefully it turns out well this will be my first model and do you have a certain crown Victoria you like or no?

How is this texture I just have to finish up the model I am working on getting correct lights for you and do you want those exact lights like the front headlights because i am new at modeling like i said so i am unsure on how to do the head lights and do you want the Whelen Inner Edge light bar colors to be exact and also the rear light bar?

Tim98 is already working on the LASD cvpi...

Also, I understand your new and all but I wouldnt recommend taking on a project when you are not going to use the proper lights.

To my understanding, the LASD Slicktop featured above does not use the whelen inner edge.

So I would recommend you do LCPD cars using your immagination before taking on projects of real life PD's as people wont like RL cars if they are not realistic.

PM me if you have further questions

I agree with Beck on this... To do actual Department cars are not easy. You really need to do lots of research. Take for example my AST CVPI that i am doing... I spent 4 weeks on it and 15 days of that 4 weeks was pure researching. so I suggest that since you are new to modding, do LCPD cars first

The topic he linked to in his first clearly states it uses Inner Edge lightbars. In all of the pictures posted you can clearly see that it's an Inner Edge. There're a lot replicated cars with incorrect lights, just look at the Slicktop car in Tim98's recently released LAPD Pack.

Also, I don't really understand why he should PM you? Do you have tips on how to create models? I don't think so, seeing your only model release being a CVPI with a completely wrong scaled lightbar.

I'm really getting sick of all this ignorance and arrogance. It seems like nobody knows how or nobody wants to correct wrong statements. Modding isn't fun anymore, there're too many wanna-be modelers and thieves.

I know there're a lot of people here who say I'm arrogant, because I feel more important than all those newbie modders. But well, I'm modding for more than 2 years and released nearly 90 mods, so form your own opinion.

I don't post a lot on LCPDFR anyways, so if anybody wants to argue with me now, I'm not going to reply.

Wow.

I did not even realize he had requested an inner edge...

While yes my first released model was junky, Cj, I have been working long and hard with other modelers to gain some skills to make decent cars. Its not nearly close to people with years of skill like yourself, and with two months of zmod experience, my experience would be close to 0 compared to yours. But, I was just trying to assist him as I know how it feels to try and learn things.

If you took my post in the wrong, as it seems you have, let me clarify all I was doing was try to help him out. Not in any way demote he moral or prove myself as a better modeler. As you said, "seeing your only model release being a CVPI with a completely wrong scaled lightbar." but yea I do have some tips on how to model as I have gotten quite a few from other people. I have just yet to release a new model as I want to ensure its better than my last.

I am not going to instigate an argument through this, I am simply trying to defend myself and clarify. I am not an arrogant person nor am i going to standby as I am called one.

Yes, it seems like I did take your post wrong, if you just wanted to give him a friendly advice, make it sound like one. In my opinion, modding is supposed to be fun, and nobody likes being told what to do. I'm not saying you or anybody else is an arrogant person, but here're a lot people whose posts sound exactly like that.
