Suggestion:

Add more to companion app and make Sync more useful to players

We hope to improve on those features soon (and just launched the first version of our global leaderboard here), but if you have any concrete ideas feel free to share.

A person that did not read the conversation and has no context gives me his two sense. thanks.

I saw this earlier, I think it's actually a really cool feature. And actually might make me use the base lspdfr arrest system just so i can try and get up on that leaderboard. This is the kind of thing me, atleast would like to see. Im actually really looking forward to see what you guys do with the Sync system.

The ability to have your own character isn't just about roleplay, it's about diversity and having your own character - even yourself in the game.  Take a look at all the screenshots and videos of LSPDFR, how many people actually use the vanilla officer/deputy peds vs their own custom ped?  Even back in 0.3, people were using Skin Creator and/or EUP to have their own character.  0.4 introduced the character system because it was wanted, and because it is being used like crazy.

No one is forcing you to take extra time to make a character.  Just click done when the character creator comes up and you're good to go with the default that comes up. Will even said as long as you have a character made all you have to go is load LSPDFR and forceduty - you're good to go like in 03.

Having read through this thread, it seems to me like the heart of the issue is the crashing and potentially other issues you're experiencing.  I'm sorry that you're having problems, and we'd be glad to help if you want to make a new thread.  However, there are plenty of reasons as to why the game crashes, and I've yet to run into any issues that were a result of character creation.

I think making a separate thread would be great. There are alot of issues i want to address without ranting on the entire script. Im currently heading off to bed but i'll be availble for discussion tomorrow.

In 3.1 you could easily pit cars. Now it like pitting a tank!!!

What is the "pit feature"?

It worked fine in 3.1

Now its useless!

I love the updates, granted i'm not a fan of the holster animation which is optional, i love the apartments, character building and the ability to customize EUP ambient officers and stations. Id be super happy to see a poll get taken for new features but i think you may be over estimating the amount of people who share your opinion. With a fresh install this is the most stable LSPDFR i've had, in fact the only crashes were caused by plugins.

It seems in some of the countless updates "useless" features have been being added. It honestly gets me even more pissed off when these are added that we cant turn them off. Like fuck how hard is it to make an option to disable the getting into rear vehicle randomly button or disable the whole fucking apartment personal vehicle shit that three people asked for. I play lspdfr to play lspdfr not to play some fucking life simulator. Please... take some criticism for once and don't ban me just because im fed up with these problems. Which reminds me instead of adding "useless" features we cant disable that end up tanking on our cpu ruining the game for alot of players just add some more fucking settings instead of having them hidden in you're wiki or just not even having them as an option. Please discuss, im sure some people can agree with me.

Alright,

I am just gonna go off of your original post as that seems to be where your main points are. And yes, I did skim through the rest of the conversation, but I want to focus on what you first posted.

As for the "getting into rear vehicle randomly button", which I am guessing you mean E. I get that, it can be annoying, but honestly, it doesn't ruin the whole experience. To be fair, I can see the frustration, but it is just something that you deal with and move on with.

As for the whole "life simulator" aspect of it. It has just added on a few extra things like a personal car and apartment. I think that is a wonderful touch and adds a full RP experience on it's own. Imagine the possibilities for off-duty arrests and other scenarios that could happen. It's not adding on a whole new series of "life simulator" stuff. It's not like it has its own monetary system and you can date and do all the other things you do in life. It adds a tiny bit extra to the field without taking away from the main point of the mod. And like Will said, you can always disable it or not load on startup if you want.

I also want to point out that 3 people suggesting it isn't really enough for the Dev Team to make a major change.

Well the thing is we as players shouldn't have to deal with it especially when it take probably 10 minutes to add a setting to turn it off and on. And as I was asking all I really wanted were some settings to turn stuff on/off for things like the pressing "E" to get in the rear door, It's extremely annoying and actually does ruin my experience.

Yeah not for alot of partner, and im not over estimating.  4/5 people i've talked to which is about 15 have said the same thing im saying. I'm obviously not including the entire lspdfr fan base but god damn what do you want me to do?

Sadly, upon its release it had a majority of the population of LSPDFR in support of it. And if it takes 10 minutes to turn it off, so be it. At least you won't have to deal with it anymore after that. Seems like a decent trade for not having to load into the apartment anymore. And the only issue with the whole pressing "E" thing is that it is used in the base mod to place people in the back of the vehicle, so I can see removing it when you are using additional mods/plugins, but for just the base mod, it wouldn't be smart.

I am guessing what he means is that you would need a substantial amount of the population that plays to agree in order for any changes to be made. 15 people or however many you talked to would not even be close to enough for the Dev Team to make the decision to revert or whatever they wish to do.

Again, all of the "unnecessary" stuff that you complained about this whole post CAN BE BYPASSED , what I don't understand is your incompetence in modding, the incapability in reading the wiki and the lack of effort all with a extremely high self entitlement.  Again, LSPDFR is COMPLETELY FREE and it is not the development team's full time job. If you hate it so much, you can leave. Modding takes time and can be frustrating at times, if you aren't willing to spend any time or any effort, just shut up and roll with vanilla stuff.  Also, just because your game crashed doesn't mean that it is caused by vanilla LSPDFR, it is VERY STABLE!

You complain about how long it takes to get into the game, but that's your first time. After that you can save your character and your car and your loadout (iirc). Literally all that junk you cried about is solved by spending the same amount of time your spend doing it in some config but you get a visual representation.

It seems you want to complain about a lot of stuff for the sake of complaining as most of your complaints are not really complaints (they're literally there you just want it different, boo freaking hoo) or can be solved by tweaking the config file.

The update with the creator and the changes to spawns was incredible actually. The games population files simply do not allow for great customization for jurisdictions. With this update you can literally make every single zone in the game have it's own unique outfits, vehicles, etc for backup and local random spawning.

Lots of complaining over literally nothing lol...

But were all blind and cant see the real issue, lol this guys a joke.

LSPDFR 0.4 doesn't take any more time to get in and play than 0.3, excluding the very first time you start the game. Once your character has been created, the process of going duty is nearly identical to 0.3; you go to the police station and go on duty, or, even faster, just forceduty. I like the 0.4 features, as superficial as they may be, and they don't make anything worse. Also, when you're addressing a small team that works on one of the best, most played GTA mods of all time, completely for free, maybe don't act like an insolent child.

So just because you dont like it does not mean its useless GVA is a game and part of that for some of us is more then just the job part. I like the apartment and I wish there was more to do off duty why are the stores and stuff all broken for isntance?get over your self you can change your start to be on duty and at the station so what is your exact complaint about the apt? you never have to go there if you dont want to

I wanted to chime in and address this part.  LSPDFR is roleplay.  You're playing as a cop and doing things cops would do in real life (excluding the people who just mess around and do bad cop).  When you approach a driver's door on a traffic stop, do you even think it in your head saying hello to the driver? When near a fellow officer, do you say hello? If yes, that is roleplay.  A vast majority of the community - myself included - roleplay the hell out of LSPDFR to the point where we go and investigate scenes in depth even after we've shot the suspect, cleared the crash scene, etc.

Roleplay has been around for decades, even back to things you may not even realize is considered roleplay.  It's much more popular than people realize.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with just hopping in to pull people over, give them a ticket and move on.  Roleplay is not mandatory with LSPDFR, but it does enhance the gameplay significantly.

I agree 100% I RP from start to finish i do a shift go home watch TV drink if I feel appropriate for my character one thing I would like though is to be treated different off duty I noticed today I pulled up to the sandy shores Sheriffs office were I start my shift a by stander got all huffy and called 911 the police came and there was no hey i'm a cop moment it went immediately to bad back up levels guns drawn and I was "busted" for what who knows cause GTA assums you are a bad guy when  your not on duty I hope we can get an update that fixes this its immersion breaking for me to be treated like a bad guy when off duty no mater what I do I cant talk my way out of the busted or on one occasion I was shot. But op would consider this useless i am guessing so
