Player Location Display V4.00

(55 reviews)

6 Screenshots

PLDPlayer Location Display is a script modification that displays the player's current location (including street name or intersection, area name, and region) at the bottom-left corner of the user's screen.

DESCRIPTION
− PLD displays the player’s current in-game location on the screen.
− Location includes street name or intersection, district name, and region.
− PLD also displays the current in-game time.
− PLD allows the user to toggle the size of the radar and provides some informative multiplayer** features.

NOTES
− Consult the FEATURE INFO file to learn more about PLD and its features.
− It is recommended that you disable subtitles (PAUSE > SETTINGS > DISPLAY > SUBTITLES) when using PLD to prevent overlap.
**Multiplayer is understood to be a 3rd party multiplayer mod, such as FiveReborn.

INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.

− 1. Place the .asi and .ini files provided in the download inside your main GTAV game directory.
− 2. Modify the .ini file as you see fit.
− 3. Start your game.

CREDITS
− PLD is coded by Lt.Caine.
− Thank you to Alexander Blade without whose work scripting for GTAV would not be possible.

ok, dumb question.  how do i disable the extended minimap toggle?  I've went into the PLD.ini and tried to disable it there with no luck.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. ~OfficerTdmfan750

Is there any way to change the size of the text itself?

Is it LocTextSizeMult?  It seems to have no effect?   What multiplier should be used?  Decimals or more?

Yeah, less than 1.0 since that's default. 0.7, etc

Thanks, tried it, but for some reason it won't change for me.    Oh well, I appreciate you trying to help - and the plug-in in general, of course.

Strange, working for me... try changing it while in game, then press alt-ctrl-L to toggle the PLD on and off to refresh in-game.

Hope this is the right place to post this, So I installed PLD mod after doing a fresh install of core game and the new Script Hook and all associated files. Now when I go in game PLD will not display?  I tried looking at the  .ini file and I turned off the subtitles in game I tried Ctrl+Alt+ L still nothing? All files are place in my Core GTAV folder?

Did I misread the instructions or am I missing something?

Thanks

@Lt.Caine Any chance you could make this a server-side mod for Fivereborn? It works perfect client-side but would be cool to have it so people do not have to download anything away from the server. I'm not sure if it's even possible, just curious.

I have the same thing, when I look into the asiloader.log I notice that it says this:
ASI: Loading "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\PLD.asi"
     "PLD.asi" failed to load

I fixed it by replacing the hookloader to a newer version.

I've seen a couple of YouTubers using this in their LSPDFR videos and their PLD seems to be at the same level as the map, but when you install this, the whole location mod is closer to the monitor bezel. Does anyone know how to fix this minor thing so it at least looks like it's meant to be there? :)

Hi, this is amazing script and thanks for sharing it.

I have a strange bugg : each time i approach the villa of " Martin Madrazo " (not destroyed yet with the bison)  the game freeze and crash. I'm using the last updated game (july 2018) with the last ScriptHook, under Win 7/64b.

All is fine if i disable your mod.

Can anyone can help me figure out editing the location?  I want it at the top of the screen, but not too high that it gets cut off.
