PLD–Player Location Display is a script modification that displays the player's current location (including street name or intersection, area name, and region) at the bottom-left corner of the user's screen.

 

DESCRIPTION
− PLD displays the player’s current in-game location on the screen.
− Location includes street name or intersection, district name, and region.
− PLD also displays the current in-game time.
− PLD allows the user to toggle the size of the radar and provides some informative multiplayer** features.

 

NOTES
− Consult the FEATURE INFO file to learn more about PLD and its features.
− It is recommended that you disable subtitles (PAUSE > SETTINGS > DISPLAY > SUBTITLES) when using PLD to prevent overlap.
− **Multiplayer is understood to be a 3rd party multiplayer mod, such as FiveReborn.

 

INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.
− 1. Place the .asi and .ini files provided in the download inside your main GTAV game directory.
− 2. Modify the .ini file as you see fit.
− 3. Start your game.

I'm getting an error on starting up my game, "An exception has occured while loading PLD.asi."  Any ideas how to fix? This is the only mod in right now.

When I put in other .asi's it loads them fine.  It just doesn't want to load this one.

My Windows 7 friends run this just fine.  However I am on Win 8.1. Could that be the issue?

    I updated the description to include a proper hyperlink to the Scripthook for those who were looking for it.

    As for using mods online, although you do certainly expose yourself to the possibility of a ban, I think that so long as you don't do anything abusive, you should be okay.

    Also, sorry about the Windows 8 issue, guys. It has me perplexed, but I'm looking into it, and as soon as a solution is found, the mod will be updated.

    ​Ok, thanks anyhoo. This was a mod I requested a while back because the default GTA location pop ups are utterly horrible. Plus it's good obviously for policing!

    does it use the language files? because i have a mod that changes the names to their real life counterparts and would like to know if this is compatible

    While driving west on US Route 1, PLD shows me, that the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness is inside Los Santos City [sic!], while it is clearly inside Blaine County.

    Also Davis is marked as a part of Los Santos, while it's a own city, as intended on the game's official website, with a Sheriff's Office instead of a LSPD station and a few other times.

    Thank you for pointing out those issues, Colis! PLD has been updated accordingly. Rather than create new region acronyms for each independent jurisdiction within the Los Santos city area (i.e. Davis, Vinewood, Rockford Hills...), I opted to replace the Los Santos city acronym ("LS") with "LSM" for Los Santos Metropolitan region.
