Plugin Showcase (Slightly outdated):

pdComp — Police Computer for LSPDFR

A full police computer for LSPDFR with live records from Policing Redefined or Stop The Ped.

pdComp adds a police laptop and field tablet to GTA V. Check people and vehicles, file reports, issue citations, review court cases, track BOLOs, and use built-in traffic tools from one system.

New in v0.4.0

  • Added on-screen ID cards when a person shows ID or a supported search finds it.

  • Keep up to four ID cards on screen. Move, close, or click a card to open the person’s record.

  • Added license expiry dates and fixed mugshots appearing behind windows or the laptop and tablet frames.

  • Choose how to hand over citations: Policing Redefined’s Give Citations menu, Stop The Ped’s Issue Ticket from CompuLite menu, or pdComp’s Shift+H handoff.

  • Added custom Report Center forms, with sample reports for theft, towing and impound, and commercial vehicle checks.

  • Refined the field tablet with clearer controls, better text, restored icons, and improved dark mode.

  • Improved drawing speed, fixed a RAGE Plugin Hook crash, and made notices shorter and clearer.

  • Added a Developer SDK for mod makers who want to build pdComp add-ons. API information can be found here.

Core Features

  • Police laptop with movable windows, snapping, app icons, and wallpaper

  • Field tablet for use while on foot

  • Ped and vehicle checks with live records and mugshots

  • Citations, arrest reports, print previews, and saved history

  • Evidence-linked charges and court results

  • Court hearings, sentencing, appeals, warrants, and federal cases

  • Report Center for incident, use-of-force, vehicle damage, crash, death, and custom reports

  • Dispatch window with live call details and active BOLOs

  • Saved vehicle BOLOs with ALPR-style alerts

  • Standalone ALPR plate reader and speed radar

  • Optional NPCAI support

  • Mouse, keyboard, and controller support

  • Light and dark themes with support for 1080p, 1440p, 4K, and wide screens

  • Editable charge, citation, and report files

Records Support

pdComp requires either Policing Redefined with Common Data Framework or Stop The Ped.

Policing Redefined supports shared records, arrest sync, tested evidence, traffic-stop data, transport requests, and radio BOLO alerts. Stop The Ped supplies document status, search results, and found breath, drug, and weapon test results.

Downloads

Most players only need pdComp v0.4.0. The Developer SDK is for mod makers. Use the Newtonsoft Fallback only if pdComp reports that the DLL is missing.

Changelog

pdComp v0.4.0
  • Added physical ID cards when a person shows ID or a supported search finds it through Policing Redefined or Stop The Ped. Stop The Ped passenger ID checks also show cards for known vehicle occupants.

  • Added support for up to four ID cards at once. Cards remain on screen when the laptop or tablet closes, move between both screens, and can be moved, closed, or clicked to open the person’s record.

  • Added a Presented ID on screen setting for players who want to hide ID cards while the laptop and tablet are closed. Clear Call Data still removes all cards.

  • Added license expiry dates to ID cards. pdComp uses the date supplied by the records mod or estimates one when the mod only gives a license status.

  • Added a choice of citation handoff methods. Use Policing Redefined’s Give Citations menu, Stop The Ped’s Issue Ticket from CompuLite menu, or pdComp’s Shift+H handoff. Set the handoff key to None for automatic delivery when you approach the person.

  • Improved citation handoffs so several citations from the same stop no longer replace or repeat each other. NPCAI also receives the result when Policing Redefined or Stop The Ped handles the exchange.

  • Added custom Report Center forms. Custom reports support sections, required fields, short and long text, choices, and Yes or No boxes. The update includes sample forms for theft, towing and impound, and commercial vehicle checks. Updated the charge conversion tool to allow users to create custom forms.

  • Improved custom report loading. pdComp now skips a broken report file, loads the valid files, and records the error in the RAGE Plugin Hook log.

  • Added new tools (api) for mod makers to read pdComp records and events, work with citation handoffs, check screen focus, and manage BOLOs or call details. A new Allow external API writes setting controls whether other mods can change BOLOs and call activity.

  • Refined the field tablet with smaller headers, clearer selected items, better text and spacing, stronger dark-mode colors, restored app icons, and a clearer home-bar control.

  • Improved window and text drawing to reduce work while pdComp is open. This also fixes a RAGE Plugin Hook crash tied to unsafe game checks during screen drawing.

  • Rewrote many notices and updated their colors so success, warning, and error messages are easier to read.

  • Split the release into three downloads: the main pdComp v0.4.0 file for players, the Developer SDK for mod makers, and the optional Newtonsoft Fallback for users who receive a missing-DLL error.

plugin is WIP and features will change/evolve/disappear throughout development as I strive more maximum stability and functionality

How do I fix that the in-game keys are being pressed when typing on the pdComp? Like when I type F, it exits the vehicle and if I type J for example, the ELS lighting will change?

The modifier keys for controller do not work. I set them to RightShoulder and no matter what i do it brings up the tablet or computer when the main button is pressed. Havent tested it for the key. Awesome mod though, any chance you can let us create warrants, edit reports filed.

The tablet is a bit of an issue for me, as it keeps popping up outside the vehicle when using the D-pad. I have everything set to in-car only, so maybe there’s a way to disable the tablet altogether. Great mod, thanks!

Interesting, try updating to 0.3.1 and see if it works. Otherwise drop your RPH log in the discord and I can troubleshoot it with you

Just a small feature idea: it would be really cool if PDCom could eventually get something similar to the ID and license scanning feature from Nexus MDT. Being able to quickly scan a driver's license or ID and pull up the person's information directly through PDCom would add a lot to immersion and make traffic stops feel more realistic. Just a thought for the future, but I think a lot of people would enjoy a feature like that.

How is that feature different than the information auto populating in this plugin after collecting an id from an npc? You mean adding an actual barcode scanning animation?

Yeah, I mean adding an actual barcode scanning animation, if that's possible. As far as I know, in most states driver's licenses and ID cards can be scanned using the barcode on the back, so it would be a nice and realistic feature to have in the mod.And PDCom is absolutely amazing. Thank you for all the work you're doing for the community and for continuing to improve PDCom with every update. It's great to see how much effort and dedication you're putting into making it better for all of us.

This would be beyond amazing if it can be used as an external MDT on your laptop. Any plans for this?

Thank you for the update! I've just noticed that when I use the police computer or the tablet, everything is suddenly more jerky/stuttering - compared to the previous version.

That’s shouldn’t be happening, it is smooth on my end. Can you record what it looks like and send it in the discord?

I don't think it will be really noticeable if I record it. For example, the mouse moves slower or the tabs open much later.

Exact same thing is happening too my fps drop from 70+ to around 15 when having the Tablet/Computer opened. I haven't changed anything about my installation except update pdComp.

This mod does not have anything to do with prisoners entering your vehicle. If you mean the keybind bleed issue, yes that has been resolved

Really enjoy this mod. You've done amazing work, so far, and I am looking forward to seeing what comes in future updates! Is there any possibility of making a typed-out officer narrative optional, in a future update? I currently use PR, but back when I used STP, I liked the simplicity of CompuLite (pick charge->submit->move on). I feel like this mod gives that same vibe of not being overly or obtusely complex (which I GREATLY appreciate), I'm just personally not a fan of typing out a narrative for every interaction... and I've noticed on ones where I don't type one out, the charges usually end up dismissed or dropped, even with linked evidence.

Bro you sure are crazy and I love the mod, perfect and fit for everything. Following you since 1.5 and remember the "tablet" request - check out where you are now big smile

keep it up and as a concept idea: if you can pack more functionality in it, I am happy to delete other mods for it - well done :)
(and 2 version in 24h shows the dedication)

That's likely an NPCAI or StopThePed/PolicingRedefined issue, not a pdComp one.

There is a localization file included. Feel free to do the translating!

Revisiting the court logic is on my list. The narrative does not have an impact on the outcome of the case, it is simply there for flavor. I have noticed more items being dismissed on my end too and I am assuming it has more to do with the customizable court personnel with their weightings and such that may be causing it. I will rework it soon.

In 0.3 the scroller on the I'd check page is insanely sensitive on the tablet if you have more then 3 id's stored you can't scroll down to look at other id's. Without it flipping out happened a few times to me this past Monday. Might be worth a look other wise a master piece this mod is Great!
