SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Spoiler

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

Your config file is slightly different then mine, so I'm assuming that you haven't updated SirenMasterY? Is that correct? Also check to see if your ELS is updated to v1.05.

  1. When you start your duty, after enabling LSTG3, I believe the standard setting is that the sirens turn on. What I do is at the beginning of my shift I press the ToggleSirenSoundKey and the siren is put in stand-by mode. Then if you activate LSTG3, you shouldn't have to hear a siren.

The ToggleSirenSoundKey is the button I use to turn on and of my sirens.

  2. I love this mod, better then the siren system of ELS and what I did to make ELS fully compatible with sirenmastery is to remove all of the siren keybindings in ELS. I have attached my ELS.ini.  After that I changed the keybindings in sirenmastery to my own liking.

  3. For the airhorn key, what you can do is to configure the VehicleSirenSetup. Set airhorn as "Horn" and if you have rumblers and hilo's as "Manual". Ifyou set your rumblers and hilo's to horn. The key used for horns will sound that as well.

Let me know if this works out and if you need further support.

ELS.ini

@Albo1125

Thank you for the helpful tips.  I just downloaded for the first time last night, so it should be the latest Siren Mastery.  Also, I have 1.05 ELS.  Why does mine look different?  I have this version installed 1.4.0.1.

Can you send me your Siren Mastery keyboard config file instead?  You sent me the ELS.

@Spitfire7

I just fixed my siren problems by extracting stock vehicles.awc into sirenmastery folder. I found out that the size of the folder was 15.78 and the max is 15.76. Maybe this will work out.

I love this mod and I love the ELS mod but is it possible make the mod fit more like ELS like is it possible to block certain actions like the phone popping up or the main air horn/lights going off. I mean I know it would take a lot or Re-writing but I'm sure it will be worth it for everyone?

this is so we can allow the mode to use similar Bindings as ELS

What you can do is delete the keybindings of ELS sirens and customize the keybindings of SirenMasterY. It took me a while to figure that out, but that way you can control sirens and lights independetly, the way you want.

Just wondering would this work with ELS?

Does anyone else have an issue when you switch the siren you game freezes for a second? Its kinda getting a bit annoying...

Albo, you're a talented guy. Can you fix the LED lights? ELS has messed up police all lights, they look like shit now, especially from a distance. Pursuits look dull and unrealistic, lots of reflections but no coronas

After update my sirens won't even play. Nothing has changed besides the new files but my setup is the same and everything.

Following your tutorial for ELS comparability, will this also allow AI vehicles the use of their sirens or does this disable them?

Hello all, having an issue getting siren mastery to work on certain cars. I just installed an ELS pack and installed the VCF files accordingly in the ELS folder. Turns out the vehicles with VCF files makes my custom sirens not work. Any idea as to how to fix it? I've reinstalled siren mastery and ELS and it fixed nothing. Also my ragehook log shows nothing of it either.

This is covered at the end of the siren mastery documentation.

Is there to just whelp the siren quickly? I used to use J (not sure if that default) tto turn on the siren and if I wanted to have lights on, but no siren unless at red lights. Now, my j binding is not working.

Check the generalconfig.ini and set the manual siren key to your yelp key. In the KeyboardConfig.ini check the manualsirenkey and use that to control the yelp.

I found the documentation for the changelog. I traced it to the generalconfig.ini and found a section that disables for ELS vehicles. Turns out it was set to true for my ELS vehicles. You never cease to amaze me keep up your good work my friend.

1)  In the documentation, it advises to delete the GTA Horn keybinding - but that's impossible.  GTA won't allow you to keep unbound keys.  Am I missing something?  I'd LOVE to be able to free up some keybindings.

2)  It seems that SirenMastery does not filter the sounds through whatever environmental effects processing GTA does.  I was just fiddling with it trying to rig to where it would just change the horn on the firetruck and leave everything else alone, and in my experimentation I happened to have it set up to where I was in SHERIFF and the U and I keys were playing the horn via SirenMastery while my middle mouse was playing it via ELS.  The middle mouse button let out a horn sound with reverberation that sounded realistic, while the SirenMastery button seemed to just play the sound file with no effects.

3)  It would be great if we could set SirenMastery to be disabled on ELS vehicles, but then override it for individual vehicles.  Like I said, the main reason I want this is so I can give my ELS firetruck a good firetruck horn but have the police cars use a horn more appropriate for them.  I don't really need SirenMastery on every vehicle, just the one.

4) It seems that the sirens you set only work for the player.  When the AI uses the vehicle, they use default sirens (I was just trying to use this to give the non-ELS riot truck a rumbler siren).  Is there a way to make it so the AI use the sirens we set, too?

@Albo1125

I really like this mod. Are you going to work on what @Asahammer addressed? I have followed your steps in the manual and it muted all of the AI sounds and Sirenmastery doesn't take it over. It would be nice to see it processed by the same effects as GTAV and that other units play trough sirenmastery. Thanks.

Hi @Albo1125, I got a question for you.

I've installed this mod and it works perfectly, thank you for that.

However as soon as AI vehicles show up, only the lights are on and the siren is off.

Do you know why and might you have a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance.

@Coreycss21 Thanks! It looks like you clicked into a wrong menu somewhere. If you look in the top right corner of the window in the first screenshot, you'll notice that it says "Select folder". That is why you do not see the resident.rpf file and only see folders.

All you should need to do is launch OpenIV and click "Windows" under "Grand Theft Auto V". Then simply click through the folders you see in the window that pops up to get to the resident.rpf file.

Let me know if this helps!
