SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. Suggestions can be made here.
  5. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened.

Me too... I was expecting some simple audio files for the sirens, not to have to extract from the deep deep levels of game files or some crap xD

I think that's probably a limitation of LSPDFR or GTA though.

Albo made it pretty easy though

how do I disable the siren console in the bottom of the screen

This seems very complicated to set up...

Luckily for you not all is what it seems. Check out the tutorial video or perhaps consider reading the installation documentation (!) and you can be up & running in 5 minutes.

How do I make the buttons 1, 2, 3, and 4 work the same on my controller using the force siren setting in the ini?

You can do this in the ControllerConfig.ini file.

You can press L or disable the console completely from the UIConfig.ini file.

Hey Albo, I've gotten this mod to work every time I install it, except I always have a problem with when I turn on the siren.  Every time I turn it on, it sounds like its cutting out in the beginning. Any solutions or reasons why it would do that? And then I don't know if this has to do with your mod, but when I call for back up, they don't come or when I drive by they will just sit in the middle of the road? If anyone could help that would be great!

Thank you! Dixon

Ignore the mods part of the path ( go to x64 directly).

It's probably an issue NAudio has with your driver, not much I can do about that unfortunately. As for the backup, you should post in the LSPDFR support forums.

This is likely due to the fact that you aren't utilizing any custom siren tones for the AI vehicles.  You'll have to find this folder in the game directory as it hasn't been copied to your mods folder....because you haven't modified it with custom siren tones.  You're using the original GTAV sirens right?

I have another issue.  This one might be my own fault, but I'm not sure.  I recently swapped my siren tones to the number pad.  This works great, but what I notice, is that I am now unable to run dual sirens when using the left-shift button for dual sirens.  Any idea why this is?  I was able to use left-shift to force a dual siren when using the top row number keys but not now w hen using the number pad keys.

Your keyboard or GTAV itself might not support detecting the shift & numpad keys simultaneously. This is not caused by siren mastery.

I'll have to look in to that.  I have a gaming keyboard, I was thinking that it should support it as it supports more multiple key inputs than most keyboards.  But I'm also not using the specific program running in the background for it either.

Whenever I turn on my sirens, or push to the next siren, the sound cuts out a little bit before the switch, its not terrible, but its kind of annoying. Does anybody have a solution?  Ive tried reinstalling it and all.  I'm assuming it has to do with the NAudio File.  If anyone has any solutions please let me know. I've ran the problem finder as well and nothing popped up.Thank you.

Siren Mastery is causing my GTA 5 to crash to the desktop on the latest game build V1.0.944.2. Everytime I activate sirens and lights it crashes.

RagePluginHook.log

There is not a single crash pertaining to siren mastery in that log, so I can't really see much. I do see you have a plugin installed that's about half a year out of date, though (Police Toolbox).

I removed siren mastery and GTA didn't crash. Removed all plugins but yours and activated lights GTA crashes. Only happens when I activate siren and lights through siren mastery.

Is it possible to disable Mastery for one specific vehicle? I've removed that vehicle's name from the "siren setup" but I still get the mastery interaction on that vehicle in-game.

Update your strobes plugin

I actually like your system better. It's easier to use,  more customizable.  and seems to have more sounds.

Update your strobes plugin

You likely have the 'defaultfor' attribute in your vehiclesirensetup.xml. Remove it so only the vehicle models you set up have siren mastery sirens.

In one of your latest videos you're using ELS and Unitrol siren. Are you using it(Unitrol) through Siren Mastery? When I'm playing with that plugin, ELS-enabled car plays vanilla siren + your plugin Unitrol siren, how should I proceed to fix it?

ELS uses default siren files, seems like it doesn't have support for external sirens. So, if you want to use your favourite siren with ELS, you may:

1) install ELS while having default siren replaced by your custom siren (downside is you can't control the volume). Just replace siren as usual via OpenIV.

2) install ELS+Siren Mastery and mess with that combined setup (seems OK if you want to make the siren louder, but I don't know how to do it properly). I'm afraid ELS will never support external sirens (with volume control) because of how it works: with ELS you may leave your car with siren on (true in-game sound), while Siren Mastery turns off the in-game siren and just plays custom siren when you hit the button, with no sound marker binded to the game world (fake sound).

I'm gonna use option #1 to avoid hassle, and my current siren volume is OK for me.

@Wippy did you have to rename the Sirens before putting them into the Resident file using Open IV? The thing with me is I do not know which file name each of my files would go under once I open the vehicle.awc. All the wav files have numbers like "0x1ABF0BF0" or something like that. My sirens in Siren Mastery are named by tone such as "Wail","Bullhorn", "Powercall", etc.

I'm afraid you can't do anything unless you know which files you should replace.

Usually sirens comes as packages (if they're meant to be replacers) with instructions. If you use SirenMastery-only siren, I can't help here. I don't know why people release sirens for SirenMastery only, because default sirens (and their replacers too) can be manually extracted into SirenMastery via OpenIV.
