Siren Mastery

SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Spoiler

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. Suggestions can be made here.
  5. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened.

Please do not reupload or redistribute this without my permission, rather link back to this original page. Thank you.

Yup! You can set the Controller buttons you don't want to None.

I meant the default ones, so I could use the ones provided by this mod instead.
EDIT: Never mind, found a work-around as it is.

Really neat mod, but there is one thing that kinda bugs me. Here is an example: You are using your primary siren and then you switch to your secondary. When you switch back to your primary it continues where it was when you first switched. Is it possible to make it so when you switch back to a siren, it starts from the beginning of the .wav file?

Any plans to add functionality to run multiple sirens at once? - I'm thinking specifically of @Prophet 's videos of ELS with primary and secondary running on top of each other. I love the functionality that this adds with more than one siren but I can't help but think of other possibilities. @Jeff Favignano Had overwritten certain files so that when he pulled vehicles over, his voice would say something like, "all the way to the curb, please." Just some thoughts.... fantastic work!

I dnt know much about sirens but right now when you go from one siren to the other and go back the siren starts wear it left off would it be better if it started all over every time u cycle thru the sirens instead of starting the sound from wear it left off?

Does this have a manual siren?

My sirens have weird echos, cut in and out, some of them are at different volumes and the buttons sometimes only work if I press them 2 or 3 times.    Tried re-installing.  Everything sounds fine without the plugin:

INI is unchanged from the original.

is there a way to have a work around to disable the cell Phone when pressing Up to change the siren tones on the controller, only in the car when sirens are on, it doesn't matter if i use a modifier key, anytime you press DpadUp, it shows the Phone, its very annoying

thanks so much for this mod, i have to do a complete fresh install then ill give it a good test

This'll be fixed in today's update.

Yes, dual siren support will be added too.

Jeff Favignano saying 'all the way to the kerb' is edited into his videos.

Hey, you may have you edit your GTAV keybinding settings to remove this.

A manual siren is a feature on sirens that makes it so it only sounds so long as you hold down a button. When you release, the siren stops.

Kind of like when you press the Horn Button.

Ah yes, I can add this in for the next update too!

It'll then be a random siren that plays when you hold the button, correct?

Should be the wail one.

I'll make it configurable in the INI as people may have different siren setups.

I'm really, really sad this is only in .44 of RPH.  Maybe someday I'll update from .41

I just changed the keys for Siren Mastery:
1) change Tap Horn and Blip to None
2) change Toggle Secondary to DPadLeft
3) change Toggle Sound to DPadUp
4) change Toggle Sound Modifier to X

With this configuration:
When turning sound on/off, hold down X for a bit until your selected weapon pops up. It won't change the weapon and this will prevent the mobile phone from popping up.
Since you can't disable the default ones, you can use Left Thumb as you always have for activating or deactivating the emergency lights altogether, and also for horn and blipping  (if you turn your siren on and off quickly). You can also quickly turn your sirens on by hitting DPadLeft (hit it twice to coolly switch over to your primary)

Hey, could you possibly have this as a setting in the .ini? I actually kinda like it for adding variety!

Oh, right. I mean when changing back to the primary siren, whether it starts mid-way or from the beginning.

Would it be possible to add a feature where u can leave the siren sound running while u exit the vehicle? Awesome mod as always.

I will look into this but it probably will take some more time to do this. Glad you enjoy!

Would it be possible when you select and turn your siren on when using number keys to also be able to turn it off using the same key? This would eliminate the need to press the g key to turn the siren off by instead pressing the same key again.

Loving the plugin btw

Terrific mod!

Not that big a deal but I wanted to mention that when I sound my default police horn, it has an echo effect which is nice and realistic but sounding the horn through the mod's keybinds, that same effect is absent and sounds a little bland.
