Hello everyone,

This is the Lenco Variation by Cosmo.

 

INTRO:

I hope you enjoy it very much, if you come across any bugs then please feel free to let me know.

Donations are always accepted and any amount is greatly appreciated. All donations go towards the costs of vehicle development (Purchasing models, zMod Subscription, etc).

 

FEATURES:

  • Ten fully functioning seats (Thanks to Yard1 who helped make that possible).
  • All regular/expected car features such as dirt, window cracks, damage, etc..
  • Fully UV-Mapped and Templated.
  • Custom Handling (Thanks to Sgt. Kanyo for the GTA IV handling line).
  • Can attach boat and small trailers.
  • Two Lightbar variations (Arjent and Liberty)
  • 2k and 4k textures/templates

 

INSTALLATION:

A very in-depth installation is included inside the README in the download, please refer to that for the full instructions.

*** Don't forget to make backups or use a mods folder ***

  • Using OpenIV, you put everything from the folder Vehicle Files which includes riot.ytd, riot.yft, etc into:
    • update>x64>dlcpacks>patchday8ng>dlc.rpf>x64>levels>gta5>vehicles.rpf
  • You then place the vehicles.meta into:
    • update>update.rpf>common>data>levels>gta5
  • You then place the handling.meta into:
    • update>update.rpf>common>data
  • You then place the vehiclelayouts.meta into:
    • update>update.rpf>common>data>ai

You need to put all of these files in the correct places or else that vehicle will not work properly.

  • Fixed the ytd having both bearcat_sign_1 AND bear_sign_1

For anyone that has version 2.0, just delete bear_sign_1 from the ytd

Have you made sure that all the files are in the right spot?

I just installed 2.1 and once I added the bearcat_sign_2 to the ytd it worked fine.

With 2.0, all you need to do is like Officer27 said and delete the bear_sign_1 and add a bearcat_sign_2.

It's possible if you use some sort of trainer or mod, but I don't think there's any way on my end to do that.

What exactly did you change in vehiclelayouts.meta? I already have a mod installed that edits this extensively, so I need to know which lines are edited.

This should be the lines that you have to replace. The original lines will look similar except not as long since this adds many seats.

Hey Cosmo could you update the foulder so there is a Vehiclelayout.meta Line .text because i need to edit that foulder in the gta direct but i can't since idk what lines it starts at

I tried installing this with RDE in the nooseriot slot but there is no engine, horn or sirens.  I correctly installed the vehicles.meta file.  The lights light up correctly is it a carvariations issue?

@Officialjake In the vehicle meta file my guess is there is no audio hash since it's suppose to replace the riot. You might have to go into the meta file and change it to this <audioNameHash>riot</audioNameHash> because right now my guess is that it just has <audioNameHash />. Hope that helps!

So, I tried to edit the Vehicle Layouts meta without replacing because I have already edited it, and my game crashes every time. I checked and rechecked the file, and it still crashes every time. Is there more code in there that needs to be edited other than what you provided? It works fine if I leave that meta file alone.

what was the flag you had to edit to change of it to be able to tow? I assume it was the vehicle.meta?

That should be all of the edited code, I'm not quite sure why it would be crashing your game.

These flags: FLAG_ATTACH_TRAILER_ON_HIGHWAY FLAG_ATTACH_TRAILER_IN_CITY and you have to add which trailers in here.

Yea, I don't know either. All the modding I did seemed to screw up my game and it stopped working properly for no apparent reason. So I did a fresh install and installed your bearcat and replaced the vehiclelayout.meta right away before I did any other modding, and it worked. Thanks!

You forgot the closing </EntryPoints> tag at the bottom there. Might be why some people say they're crashing.

^^^ Actually take that back, only way to make it not crash is using the whole vehiclelayouts.meta file, which contains a huge amount of differences compared to the default one.

@Cosmo I haven't had any luck attaching trailers to the back of the BearCat. I tried a few different ones of various sizes, but nothing did the trick. Would you or anyone else have some input?

Sorry for the late reply. Did you use the vehicles.meta that was included with the download or take the edited part and put it into yours? You have to make sure that under the trailers section in the vehicles.meta that it lists them and has the flag for enabling trailers. Also make sure that you are editing or putting the vehicles.meta in the correct place for it to be used.

Is anybody else getting crashes when entering one of the Grangers?
 

Whenever I use the vehiclelayouts.meta provided with the mod I get a CTD when I enter a Granger (Sheriff, FIB, Park Ranger,..). Tried editing the vehlayouts file myself but no luck so far.

For those having trouble with the vehiclelayouts.meta provided by Cosmo here or in PimDSLR's updated version at http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/12411-lenco-bearcat-swat-code-3-arch-liberty-more-lights, the bit Cosmo quoted above is not correct (@Cosmo, including you so you know as well if you are still doing this stuff).  Take note of the Seats and Entry Points from Cosmo's quote above and you'll notice some with numbers at the end.  There are custom entries in a different part of the meta file that defines those and that's what is missing (therefore causing the game to crash).  Additionally, if you replace the entire meta file, there are changes to the granger, bikes, and other vehicles which have nothing to do with this modification, so you may also crash because of those.  I did a full comparison and here is what you need to change in the meta file...

 

First, use Open IV to grab a clean, original vehiclelayouts.meta from "...\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\update\update.rpf\common\data\ai".  If you already have your own customized vehiclelayouts.meta, then open that one instead.

 

Next, search for the following section:

Unless I have a typo or syntax error above, that should correct things for those of you that are crashing and ensure you are only putting what needs to be put inside the meta file.  I have extensively tested this as best I can in my own game, which is highly customized with many vehicles, my own custom DLC packs, and lots of changes to these same files and Cosmo's and PimDSLR's vehicles both worked as expected, including multiple passengers, multiple entry points, trailer hitch, etc.  Also had no game crashes at launch or when getting into some of the other vehicles mentioned above.

Does this spawn with the LSPD livery, or the LAPD livery? I have not been able t get a clear answer from yt or these photos as they contradict each other (Yt shows a LAPD, however here you show a LSPD livery.) Thanks!
