Installation

Drag/drop the .DLL, .PDB, and .INI files into GTA V\Plugins\LSPDFR.  All features are disabled by default.  If you're using the STREETS audio files for Automatic Pursuit Updates, place them in GTA V\lspdfr\audio\scanner\STREETS.  If you use STREETS files that are named differently, they may not work with the Automatic Pursuit Updates feature.

 

About

Rich's Police Enhancements is a suite of quality of life features.  All features are able to be enabled/disabled in the .ini file, so use (or don't) any feature you want.  Version 1.6 integrates Automatic Siren Cutout, so if you have that plugin installed separately, you can now remove it.

 

Included Features

  • Ambient Backup:  When a pursuit is initiated, the player will be prompted to accept or decline ambient backup during their incident by pressing Y or N.
  • Automatic Pursuit Updates: You will be periodically notified (configurable in the .ini) of suspect location, direction of travel, speed, and traffic conditions for each suspect in a pursuit.  Updates may be provided via notification, dispatch audio, or both (configurable in the .ini)
  • AI Siren Cycling:  Nearby police AI will attempt to cycle through their sirens instead of being stuck on the same tone forever
  • Better TVI/PIT Maneuver:  When you or another unit spin out a suspect vehicle during a pursuit, there's a chance the vehicle will become disabled
  • Backup Mimic Lights:  During a traffic stop, callout, or pursuit, AI backup will turn their lights/sirens off when they are near you if your lights/siren are off (for ELS, stage 1/2 are considered off)  When you turn your lights/siren on (for ELS, stage 3), the AI will turn their lights/siren back on.
  • Suspect Stamina:  Suspects will run slower over time and have a chance to trip if they run for too long.
  • Automatic Siren Cutout:  Automatically turn off your sirens while keeping your emergency lights on when you get out of emergency vehicles.  This feature is intended to be used with ELS.
  • Friendly Honk:  A fun little feature that makes other emergency vehicles honk their horn or blip their siren at you if you honk or blip your siren at them.
  • Traffic Light Control:  Turn traffic lights green as you approach intersections with stage 3 lighting enabled.  This does not affect AI traffic.
  • Traffic Yielding:  AI will drive around the left side of your vehicle when you are stopped with stage 3 lighting on.  This feature is intended to be used with ELS.
  • Leave Engine Running:  When you exit the vehicle, your engine will stay on.  You can turn the engine off by pressing and holding your exit vehicle key.

Not really sure whether it is caused by the lspdfr itself or just an external plugin, though. Anyway, it stopped being frequent, still exists and is annoying but not as much as used to be before. I really have no clue what the issue is.

Remove Traffic Policer if you have it and see what happens. If that doesn’t work disable lspdfr ambient pursuits. Has to be some external plugin like you said.

Hi, on the RadioPriorityTraffic, when activated does the "AlertTone" go off? I only here the "PRTTone" when its in use. It would be nice to hear the "AlerTone" sound when the RadioPriorityTraffice activates or deactivates. Really love the priority feature by the way! Thanksss

The tone does not play upon activation or deactivation.

@Riccoonly thing , I don't think I hear the siren scroll in other vehicles , apart from the tartiary at the intersections , I don't know if you meant the yelp and the bark flowed , I didn't notice that they do , I use for my vehicle siren setting , I don't know it could affect AI vehicles but I don't think , then siren ladder one and two are put in good order

BOLO notices are really rare , will I have received one since you downloaded it , I play every day , to increase the possibility of increasing the value ? or you diminiusce ? thank you in advance

Not sure why, however, If I am sitting in my vehicle with stage 3 lighting, on a traffic stop, backup arrive with lights on, but turns them off when the backup unit exits the vehicle

The siren cycling part, does it only work for ELS vehicles? Couldn't find information about that anywhere

Asking because I'm getting quite a lot crashes on BOLO creation with a missing audio file message in log, I assume those are model/manufacturer names for add-on vehicles that I have in traffic.
 

UPD: I've noticed that many audio files in lspdfr audio folder are corrupted, and since we don't get our ears destroyed in game, I assume those are corrupted to the point where they can't be played in game. A friend of mine confirmed that, so they are corrupted in the 0.4.7 download archive itself. May be the cause, idk.

Cannot cycle non-ELS sirens like you can ELS.  My BOLO feature does not use audio files except the notification sound.

For the Ambient Backup feature, can you make them act as if they were Ultimate Backup units?

Unlikely since Bejo's API is very limited.

so far the calls received only concern the search for a flatbet , I can't search the vehicle , it says "unable" , I can't search it , and if I try to search for the vehicle via "police smart radio" or the "stop the" plugin ped , you get the license plate "it does not read it , as if it were not there , I can only interact with the ped, it is not of primary importance , I interact only with the ped , I just wanted to report this small bug , if it is a bug , excellent mod , keep it up  @Ricco

Hey Rich, is it possible to make it so the plugin do not make units that are in route to transport a suspect or if the unit has a suspect in custody not to respond to ambient suspect chases? I get a lot of units coming to pick a suspect up and soon as they get close and an ambient suspect drive by, they take off after the suspect. Or if they have put the suspect in the car, they will chase the ambient suspect and once they catch him, the prisoners jump out with guns on the suspect also lol.

By ambient suspect chases, do you mean ambient pursuits you're not a part of?

Yes, I mean the LSPDFR ambient wanted suspects that appear as a red dot as if it was a suspect that previously got away. The new feature since they updated LSPDFR.

Not sure.  I have the feature disabled.  Typically, though, it can be difficult to manipulate anything directly controlled by LSPDFR.

The AI Siren Cycle feature does not seem to be working. Would be cool if you fixed it, made it into a separate plugin and it worked on all game emergency vehicles. More options like airhorn usage would be cool too.

Unfortunately, you're the only person to tell me the feature isn't working.  I can't "fix it" without more information.  I also will not be releasing it as a separate plugin.

Right I've got it working. Turns out I hadn't configured ELS properly. Anyway, I can see the logic behind the siren cycle script. You're basically telling the game script to mute the siren sound, then very quickly turn it back on again, and naturally ELS randomly selects one of the siren tones from the VCF each time the siren is triggered. So of course you can't choose a specific tone or cycle of tones each time this happens. It's a shame Lt. Caine hadn't setup ELS to work better with siren tones and cycling. But, firstly, it would be nice to see the AI siren cycle working on all ELS vehicles including fire and ambulance, not just police ones. Secondly, maybe you could reduce the delay time between the siren being switched off and then triggered back on again, so the cycling is a lot quicker and smooth? Finally, would be great to have some airhorn usage which I'm sure would be possible to do. Cheers.
