Follow the instructions in the README and verify your settings in the .ini file.

 

About

Rich's Police Enhancements is a suite of quality of life features.  All features are able to be enabled/disabled in the .ini file, so use (or don't) any feature you want.

 

Included Features

  •     Ambient Backup:  When a pursuit is initiated, the player will be prompted to accept or decline ambient backup during their incident by pressing Y or N.
  •     Automatic Pursuit Updates: You will be periodically notified (configurable in the .ini) of suspect location, direction of travel, speed, and traffic conditions for each suspect in a pursuit.  Updates may be provided via notification, dispatch audio, or both (configurable in the .ini)
  •     AI Siren Cycling:  Nearby police AI will attempt to cycle through their sirens instead of being stuck on the same tone forever
  •     Better TVI/PIT Maneuver:  When you or another unit spin out a suspect vehicle during a pursuit, there's a chance the vehicle will become disabled
  •     Silent Backup:  During a traffic stop, callout, or pursuit, AI backup will turn their lights/sirens off when they are near you if your lights/siren are off (for ELS, stage 1/2 are considered off)  When you turn your lights/siren on (for ELS, stage 3), the AI will turn their lights/siren back on.
  •     Priority Radio Traffic:  By using either PoliceSmartRadio, VocalDispatch, or Grammar Police, you may request priority radio traffic at any time.  This will play a tone every X seconds (configurable in the .ini).  You may also enable this feature to automatically play when a pursuit is initiated, or a panic command is given to Grammar Police.  This feature doesn't affect gameplay in any way, it is simply for immersion and roleplay.
  •     Suspect Stamina:  Suspects will run slower over time and have a chance to trip if they run for too long.

    I've never seen this before.  It might be due to your system's or game's language settings.

    Please add an ability to toggle the ambient backup option. I like to play where ambient backup will attend automatically, not having to initiate it every single call out?

    This is already implemented for the next update, currently available for patrons.

    Hey Rich, I am a big fan of this plugin! I used to use it without any problems at all for a while. But unfortunately now, everytime i start it up and install it my game crashes, and im not sure what the problem is. It wasnt anything i installed with it i believe. Is there anyway you could help?

    Only thing I would recommend is changing the text on top of the boxes i.e "Automatic Pursuit Updates" to something a little more immersive like "Dispatch (something or other)".

    Other than that fantastic work man keep up the great work. Fantastic addition to LPSDFR with no performance losses.

    Something that I found out today that I think should be noted is that with the Ambient Backup setting is that it if that setting is activated with Ultimate Backup, the AI on specifically during traffic stops kind of breaks. For example with Ultimate Backup you can call either a normal backup unit on a traffic stop or a felony traffic stop and on both scenarios the AI will just stand at their vehicles and not do anything. However, when Ambient Backup is disabled or set to not automatically accept everything works just fine. Other then that everything about this plugin is outstanding and I would like to praise your phenomenal work!

    Well, they're two separate backup systems.  What are you expecting the backup officer to do when they arrive at your traffic stop?

    Hey Rich! I have an issue with this plugin. BOLO isn't working for me. Everytime i open RPH console i see "Looking for BOLO vehicles; No suitable BOLO suspects found"

    First i thought that plugins in fact just can't find a suitable vehicle, however i didn't get a single BOLO in almost 3 weeks of playing with this plugin (BOLO is set to true in .ini file)

    It's working as intended, though unfortunately the criteria for BOLO vehicles is very strict and you've had bad luck on not getting any.  BOLOs are moving to a new plugin soon, and the logic has been modified.  You should find more in the future

    Hey there mate, awesome plugin, how ever I have one tiny issue which creates a bigger issue in game. And that is that other LEO's passing by will go full code 3 and drive by me slowly. So the bigger issue is that eventually they stop traffic, not that they stop, but other cars stop and then it creates a backlog of AI cars reacting to code 3. What can I do to solve this?

    I've been reading on reddit where others have had the same issue. Might be a conflict, either way, thought you should know so you could fix it if it's an issue.

    Edit: I think it might be the 'EnableSilentBackup' now that I'm reading the ini again. Sorry, I should've paid more attention.

    good morning everyone , I uploaded the new version , and when I go to service I crash lspdfr , "conflict console lspdfr forceendpursuit" , I tried to disable the ini of the plugin but the error continues , how can I solve it ? i was about to put the old version back , but i would like to resolve this conflict to be able to keep Rick's plugins separate (the new "ambient") , what should i change in lspdfr ? Can anyone help me  ? thank you

    to clarify , technically it does not crash on startup duty , it just tells me about the console error "endforcepursuit" , it crashes as soon as a chase starts

    I've been getting an issue where PoliceSmartRadio isn't registering the PRT buttons, I've tried reinstalling both plugins but still no fix. Anyone else having this issue? I can't use PRT at all it seems.

    @Rich I've had a ton of fun using your mod so far! I'm having an issue though; I left the Priority Radio Tone disabled because I have enough issues with Immersive Dispatch and Grammar Police not recognizing my commands, however, it occasionally activates (stupid voice recognition software) and is unable to be disabled. Pretty sure it's just mishearing me and being activated by voice command, because I can do chases without it enabled if I avoid using the radio altogether. Once it turns on, however, I can't turn it off, and have to restart the game. Any ideas? The only thing I can think to do is enable that feature and then disable it whenever it accidentally turns on...

    There are four ways to use the Priority Radio Tone feature:  Police Smart Radio, Vocal Dispatch, Grammar Police, and automatically with pursuits.  If you disabled the feature in the .ini, it should not ever be starting.  If you left the feature enabled in the .ini, but don't say the PRT commands in game, then it could be two things:  1.  It's also tied to Grammar Police's panic feature, so if you use that, it would trigger PRT.  2.  It could be started automatically by pursuits if AutomaticPRT is set to true in the .ini file.  If it's being started by the panic feature, the only way to turn it off manually is to with PSR/VD/GP.  If it started automatically with a pursuit, then it should end automatically when the pursuit ends.  If something is not working as I described, please use my forum thread or Discord to get further support.

    I wanted to know if there is a way to disable the AI of the patrol that roams the streets at extremely low speed with the sirens on , it is annoying for me to find it, they go surreally too slow and create problems in adjacent traffic , I don't know if it does part of this plugin , if it's not , do you know who it belongs to ? if it's from this plugin i can't find a way in the ini. to deactivate it , could you help me ? thank you @Ricco

    Might be a bug with the Silent Backup feature, though I'm not sure about the "extremely low speed" part.  If you' have it enabled, try turning it off and see if anything changes.

    I try to turn it off and let you know , "extremely low" speed , because even (rightly) the AI unit remains behind in the queue of any vehicles in front with lights and sirens cod 3 activated it cannot overtake the vehicle in front of if , that with code 3 stops motionless in the middle of the road , and sometimes remains so for the duration of a traffic stop and becomes deafening

    ( it seems strange to me that no other user has ever reported this, also because he thinks it also happened with previous versions, I thought it was an environmental addition created specifically ) . thanks , I'll let you know

    sometimes they do that for me to and i didnt reported it cause for me it what just a case of "dumb ai" you know.
