For all vehicle creators/modelers: I've included a documentation file, in case you want to make a compatible vehicle, where people can toggle the weapons in a gunrack. It's not complicated at all, and if you upload a vehicle with this feature, please send me a message so I can put a link up on this download page 🙂

 

This plugin allows you to store your Carbine Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, as well as Body Armor and Fire Extinguisher in your police car, and also to retrieve it. 

It does NOT require compatible vehicles, however, they will add additional features, like seeing your weapons appear/disappear from the gunrack.

 

Features:

  • Store your Carbine Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, fire extinguisher and armor in your patrol vehicle.
  • Retrieve the same from either inside the vehicle, or from the outside. Stand near the driver door and press the key to retrieve your weapons, stand near the trunk and press the key to retrieve your armor + medkit and/or your fire extinguisher
  • Includes some fancy animations
  • Customizable attachments for the weapons
  • Customizable keybinds

 

 

Installation:

 

Put the .dll and the .ini into your "Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\" folder.

 

Make sure to take a look at the .ini file to set your name and preferred keybind.

 

You have to sit in a Police car  to store and retrieve your rifle/shotgun.

It does not matter whether it's a default police car, a replacement, or an addon, as long as you added the Police car correctly.
It works with the Carbine Rifle(MK2) and PumpShotgun, which come with an equipped flashlight upon retrieving.

Will you every try to make it so that you retrieve the guns from the boot/trunk of the vehicle instead of having to get in?

Maybe. But that's a big maybe. 

I prefer having the gunrack between the front seats.

Fair enough just wondering, as getting in and out the car can be a bit tedious. Even if you just did the search animation at the door instead.

Haha, yea. That is actually planned for a future update. But customizable weapon attachments are next :)

Probably not. You are able to choose between the two Carbine Rifles, but I think I'll keep the rest as it is now.

is there any chance to have a xml config where it can decide if i have a flashlight or optics on my weapon...that would be cool.  

I know the rifle spawns with a flashlight but, i wish it would also spawn with a grip and optic. but everytime i "equip" my rifle it defaults to rifle with flashlight.

Yes, this will be included in an update coming soon. Not with an .xml file, but inside the .ini file :)

I've recently gotten GTAE Gameplay which allows the engine of a vehicle to be repaired with a wrench equipped. Therefore, it would be useful to add the pipe wrench as something that can be acquired from the vehicles. Also, since this is based around realism, would it not be realistic to have the gun slung across the chest while it's not equipped but still in the inventory? That would make for a great toggle-able feature.

Finally got around to installing and trying this plugin and i love it. Never noticed that you had added a slot for the fire extinguisher as well one more thing i dont have to carry now 👍 No brainer why this has been on the featured list for so long nice job @Sebo So my two main questions are:

 

1) Can we get a storeable pistol slot so I can stop getting shot when i hop out and he draws the radar gun instead of the handgun. I finally gave up and removed the radar gun (vintage pistol in my case) from my loadout because it would default to it over my handgun and this would constantly get me killed. Being able to store it in the vehicle when its not in use would resolve this problem without the need to spawn the weapon in and remove it from my loadout with a trainer everytime i wanted to use it.

 

2) Are there any vehicle models out there yet that have extras set up to work with this? @t0y @Jules Winnfield ??

No, adding an option to store the pistol is not planned, sorry.

 

About the compatible vehicle models, some people are working on vehicles, but I have no idea when or if they will be released, which is kinda sad. 

I doubt we'll see anything from t0y though, since he retired from making vehicles for GTA.

Great mod I just want to customize the attachments, to be honest. It adds a lot of realism to the game.

Amazing mod. Can't believe I haven't used it before now.  One question though. Is there any way to have it visually equip and unequip my EUP vest so that when I equip it it's on my character and when I unequip it's taken off my character?

Hello everyone i am currently making an lapd based vehicle pack that some vehicles will feature hold my gun compatability  have a look (unfortunally due to the pack being lapd based and the use of a steady burn with ELS for pretty much every vehicle it will be compatible only for the shotgun) here is a video of an example [WIP] but looks prety inresting 

and nice script that sebo made and let us car modelers have a play with it

That's awesome! 

I'm currently changing some things for vehicle compatibility for exactly the issue you stated with the steady burn. I'll implement a check for misc_x for the rifle, and misc_z for the shotgun, so you can choose between them (or just add both), without accidentaly toggling an ELS extra. Send me a DM if you want to give it a test 🙂

Possible new feature?

 

After a shootout, I usually collect the weapons so they're not laying in the street, what if you made it so I could clear them from my inventory once I pressed the button near my trunk? I don't need to carry an MG around with me after taking it off a criminal lol. Just a thought. Thanks!

Every once in awhile I'll put my armor into the vehicle while outside the vehicle and it takes some of my health away and not my armor. It sometimes causes me to die if I have low health.

Sorry, but I don't see how that's possible. It's definitely not caused by my plugin, since there isn't a function that would be able to reduce your health.

Are you using a trainer with godmode?

I think it's due to one of the scripts I'm using, I'll see if removing it fixes it
