Lojack System - "Recover the stolen vehicle" 2.2.0

This mod simulates the workings of the Lojack system. When a lojack-equipped vehicle is stolen, the owner will activate the lojack transmitter on the vehicle remotely. Police cars that are equipped with a Lojack tracker will be able to locate the stolen vehicle via beeping sounds. The closer the police car is near the vehicle, the quicker the beeps get. So again, this mod will fully simulate that experience.

This mod is not a callout, but a simple plugin that will search for Lojack-enabled vehicles as an ambient event.

 

Make sure to put LojackPlugin.dll and LojackPlugin.ini and LojackPlugin.pdb into \Plugins\LSPDFR folder. 

Make sure to have the latest version of RageNativeUI installed.

 

Take a look at the INI at least once to make sure you are satisfied with the settings. 

 

Note: To mark as recovered, you must be on foot and within 5 meters of the vehicle.

So all I do is go on duty and cars will spawn as a random event?

Just go on duty, the system automatically starts and then drive around as you would do normally and wait for a hit. Check out the ini file.

 

@OJdoesIt Just noticed that it does not seem to "Mark as found" When pressing control S.

Forgot to indicate. Must be within 5 meters of the vehicle and on foot.

 a great addition to this a great addition to this plugin would be to add it to a vehicle setup as a bait car and then have someone take it and then use it as a GPS

Having used this for a day or so now, I have noticed a couple of things.. 1.You always get a hit as soon as you go on duty, I tend to ignore that hit as it seems a little unrealistic to me. 2. Now this could just be me but it seems that it only seems to get a hit while I am in the middle of a pursuit or another call. Like I said it could just be me!

I don't recall doing so, I have now had a few hits while just on patrol so the only strange thing to me is the instant hit as soon as you force duty but it's no big deal. Still a very good plugin!!

I just checked my code, and that's the issue. Just a minor bug.

I get "the archive is either in unknown format or damaged" error or i'm trying to open the winrar. I tried to download it 4 times and it still doesn't work. Why?

Your downloads must be incomplete. Because it's a simple ZIP archive. And I can't say the download is bad because this hasn't been reported by other users.

Crashes randomly during gameplay. Sometimes I can go 5 minutes and it will crash, sometimes 30 mins, but it always crashes eventually.

 

Seems to happen when you're trying to acquire the vehicle color?

Just a tiny request but can you make the UI customizable, I'm playing with all lore right now and would like it to be something like Trackify.

@OJdoesIt Update is great! However, one small issue is every "stolen" vehicle is actually being driven by the registered owner i.e. it's not actually stolen. So far doesn't seem to be a percentage issue as I've not gotten any vehicle driven by anything other than the RO so it must be a bug or oversight.

 

If this was an oversight or bug I would suggest still leaving in the possibility that the RO is actually driving, it does happen IRL that a vehicle is reported stolen and recovered or found by the owner but they forget to report it as recovered to Lojack/Tracking Company.

I'll look into resolving this. I'll keep it a small percentage of having the owner still driving it, as suggested.

There's various callouts/plugins for that. Just search for downloads that have "BOLO" keyword.
