Emergency Lighting System V brings one of the most popular modifications ever created for a GTA title (ELS-IV) to Grand Theft Auto V. ELS-V will add a whole new dimension to your patrols. With a fresh look and many more features than its predecessor, it's also sure to brighten up your game and satisfy the emergency lighting enthusiast in anyone.

DESCRIPTION
− ELS provides an alternate and incredibly in-depth way of controlling emergency vehicle lights and sounds.
− ELS requires vehicle models specifically designed to make use of its features.
− ELS includes over 200 unique lighting patterns scattered across 4 light groups and lighting formats.

NOTES
− Please consult the ELS USER GUIDE and other provided documentation prior to using ELS.

− As of V1.00 ELS is not compatible with any form of multiplayer.
− A visual enhancement mod is recommended to improve the appearance of ELS lights in game.

BASIC INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.
− 1. Place ELS.asi, ELS.ini, the ELS folder, and AdvancedHookV.dll inside your main GTA V game directory.
− 2. Download and install (a) pro-ELS vehicle model(s).
− 3. Start your game.

CREDITS
− ELS is coded by Lt.Caine.

− AdvancedHookV and vehicle damage feature coded by LMS.
− ELS-V testing team (alphabetical order): Albo1125, BxBugs123, GravelRoadCop, PoliceWag, and Prophet.

What's New in Version 1.05

Released June 28, 20241 yr

Removed auto deletion of discarded ELS vehicles to prevent crashes when using certain LSPDFR plugins.
Removed ELS manipulation of AI vehicles as persistent/not persistent for same reason.
Removed strobe corona flash sounds (while retaining sound effects for halogen patterns).
Toggling the ELS information panel will now reload everything in the ELS.ini.
Fixed error in ELS User Guide that incorrectly associated SCNL with extra_11 and TKDL with extra_12 (the opposite is true).
Updated ELS User Guide to reflect new changes.
ELS.ini change: Added "AllowController" option to CONTROL section to allow enabling/disabling controller input for ELS.
ELS.ini change: Added "TogKeysLock" option to CONTROL section to allow changing ELS key lock button.

Please download the AdvancedHookV fix if you are using game build 3258.

Echoing similar statements about ELS ceasing to work seemingly out of the blue. Unsure of what the issue is; the mod loads, I can hear the clicks going off and the sirens play as I step up to stage 3 but the lights aren't flashing. I recently installed a couple more ELS cars, I now have an ELS VCF for every police vehicle in the game (both sheriffs, both FIBs, all police). Anyone got a head-slapping easy fix or am I boned

Try down grading each new ELS vehicle and VCF one at a time, going into the game to see if it's working after removing each one. Give it a shot and see what happens...

Alright, so I've been playing for a little bit (specifically with a controller) and the "blackout" function (A) is driving me insane. Is there an option to turn that off, or rebind that key? It's not a function that I use a lot and end up hitting it when it conflicts with other mods I have.

So iv downloaded the updated version, now my ELS doesn't work at work, it says i have faulty VCF files, yet it was working fine before the update, any ideas would be great.

UPDATE:

After installing the first version, im now the getting the same issue.

I got a bug when i turn on my siren and els lights the car iam chasing is driving straight in one direction and crashing against something in their way. This bug exists in the old & the new 1.05

How do you change setting to lock and unlock the settings for ELS, this button is usually the Scroll Lock Button

Open ELS.ini and turn this setting from true to false.

Funny that siren bug. Not sure if it happens at random, or when I honk/use alternate T siren (because I honk a lot)

Also interesting that the car doesn't simply go into a straight line -- it also enters in a seemingly scripted state where it's lightweight and fragile, thus every crash is almost cinematographic. I've had cars fly up to five times its height and flip several times, losing doors and components, by just hitting a fire hydrant, newspaper box or lightpost

Don't know how to pull up menu. CTRL P just pauses my game. on a controller. no read me either.

can't pull up the edit menu for the life of me. can't find a legit understandable explanation video as well, nor a legit control guide.

any help??? thanks.

I know its a preference but being that Im in Law Enforcement, I prefer the strobe sound effects. Any way to have that as an option to turn on and off?

Change the panel number in the ELS.ini to 77 and use control M for the panel. If you wan to change all the keys use this... http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/Flash_10.0/help.html?content=00000520.html

There is a documentation folder that comes with the mod with all that info, just so you know.

So when I use ELS and try to go dark (switch all lights off) my rear brake lights stay on when I'm just sitting idle. They shut off as soon as I start driving but can't figure out why. Any ideas as to what is causing this? Would love to be able to go dark on night speed patrols but the red brake lights are giving it away!

Sounds like a vehicle mod like More Control or Basic Vehicle Actions.

Ya its the script you have to keep the breaks on when stopped. Nothing to fix that unless you uninstall

By default, brake lights don't come on just sitting still unless you have a mod that turns them on. If I disable More Control, blackout works fine.

I do not own More Control. And am not aware of another mod that causes this?

Never mind solved it! I had a very old plugin for additional car controls that I thought was completely uninstalled but was not the case. Thanks guys!!

Since the update my entire game freezes when i use the scan key. I push 5 and it freezes. The 5 key also brings up a menu for another plugin but for the life of me i cant remember which. I was going to try and disable that but i cant remember which pack it is. However before the update that didn't occur.

I had only one ELS car installed (unmarked Crown Vic) and my ELS lights stopped working out of nowhere. I uninstalled the ELS car and installed a non-ELS car. It worked as it should.

I then installed an ELS marked Charger, hoping it would work, it doesn't. I also installed the updated ELS, hoping that would solve the problem, it doesn't. I have no idea why ELS lights would suddenly stop working. I have no idea how to fix this because I didn't change anything. They worked one day, went to play it the next day and they weren't working. I've uninstalled it and re-install and nothing works.

I think I may have found a bug with the latest update. whenever I disable controller support via the .ini setting, "Q" can suddenly be used to cycle the three lighting modes. as soon as I re-enable the support for controller that button can no longer be used for cycling, only "J" can.
