Siren Mastery

SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. Suggestions can be made here.
  5. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened.

Please do not reupload or redistribute this without my permission, rather link back to this original page. Thank you.

Terrific mod!

Not that big a deal but I wanted to mention that when I sound my default police horn, it has an echo effect which is nice and realistic but sounding the horn through the mod's keybinds, that same effect is absent and sounds a little bland.

Thanks for the feedback.

Unfortunately that is one of the minor limitations. I'm looking to find ways to improve this, but it'll probably take some more time.

Any plans to add functionality to run multiple sirens at once? - I'm thinking specifically of @Prophet 's videos of ELS with primary and secondary running on top of each other. I love the functionality that this adds with more than one siren but I can't help but think of other possibilities. @Jeff Favignano Had overwritten certain files so that when he pulled vehicles over, his voice would say something like, "all the way to the curb, please." Just some thoughts.... fantastic work!

He does that in editing.

@Albo1125  What is it in .44 that allows your plugin to work only in 44?  I'm tempted to still try it in .41

@Albo1125 Says installation error for me?

I think I installed everything correctly, but the "vehicles" folder?

I don't know. Can you help me over Skype or TeamViewer or something please?

Albo's tutorial on how to install:

Albo1125

Insiders Author

1.1.0.0 (17-08-16)

  • NEW: Manual Siren functionality.
  • NEW: Dual Sirens functionality.
  • Split SirenMastery.ini into 3 separate INI files (General, Keyboard, Controller). These are now located in the Plugins/SirenMastery/Config folder.
    • The old INI file is no longer used.
    • You should be able to copy over the settings that you edited from the old INI into the new ones if you wish to do so.
  • Siren Silent Toggle now works even if the siren is off.
    • This allows you to set if the siren should be audible before activating your lights.
  • Added functionality to make sirens play from the beginning upon activation.
    • This can be disabled in the General INI file.
  • Added Force Siren buttons for controller (default is None).
  • Added Toggle Horn buttons for controller (default is None).
  • You can now specify multiple vehicle models per vehicle siren setup.
  • Improved key responsiveness and general performance.
  • Multiple minor bugfixes and improvements.
  • Added additional checks upon startup to prevent crashes caused by installation errors.
  • Updated Documentation, added VehicleSirenSetup examples and created a tutorial installation
  • Groundwork laid out for the UI - this will be fully added soon!

Awesomeness in a box, that's what it is! Great work!

Some observations/issues/ideas I had with 1.1.0.0:

  1. lighting up your lightbar (without the siren, so by pressing G first) doesn't produce the "beep beep" sound, whereas I think it should.
  2. With sirens OFF, if I press O rapidly, it does a siren blipping, instead of just repeating a quick sample of the wail (for instance). Not sure I'm being clear here. What I want to reproduce is the same as here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mok8FfGuM9k&t=2m38s (by tapping 3 times the O button, ofc)
Also, it blips the lights as well. Maybe all this is intended, I don't know :)
Last thing on that point: it does the "beep beep" thing as well, which would be nice to configure (basically, for me the "beep beep" sound shall be played only when switching to an "automatic" tone (yelp, priority or back to wail) or lighting up your lights. Maybe you can set this as a configurable thing?
  3. Pressing O (manual siren) quickly "blocks" the light pattern (it doesn't animate, like frozen)

Thanks for providing 1.1.0.0 so quick though, it gives so much more possibilities  Lot's of new keybindings to memorize tho, but it's not an issue

Edit: last thing: When I try to remove the keybinding for the horn, it tells me it can't be saved (= I have to set a key). There's a red /!\ next to it as well. How did you manage to remove it completely?

1. That can be changed, I suppose. In the end everyone has different preferences.

2. That seems to be something the game tends to do sometimes - I'll see if I can fix that next update.

3. Same as 2.

To remove a keybinding, set it to None :)

Glad you enjoy!

Thanks for the reply!

About removing the keybind, I was speaking about GTA 5 keybindng, as mentionned in part 3 of your documentation :)

Oh, if it doesn't allow you to do that you can just set it to something like Scroll Lock or whatever :P I've got mine as the PAUSE key which I never use anyway.

Hello Albo, the mod is great and it works perfectly. I have only one thing to ask you: it's normal that some of the sirens don't sound a bit loudly as before?

Thanks for the help!

Hey, they should sound the same, but if you want to you can set the volume of the sirens in the INI file or in your custom vehicle siren setups yourself.

Truly amazing, I will have to set some time to the side sometime this week to get this working.

I have a two questions if you don't mind answering.

1. If I understood correctly this will allow me to have a different siren for each vehicle slot?

2. Is it possible to have two different types of sirens for playing for the dual siren set up? Ex. A smart siren and a 80k.

1. Yes 2.Yes

Enjoy!

Added a download called Controller Unbinding (thank you @Delco24 for creating this). It removes lots of unneeded keybindings on your controller so they are freed up for Siren Mastery.
