Taurus vs Charger vs Caprice vs E7 vs Tahoe
It's interesting that you would throw in a SUV with a group of police sedans, but hey whatever. I've been watching this competition since the Crown Vic was discontinued and I'm interested to see which vehicles become mainstays with law enforcement agencies and why. If I had to judge on looks alone the Dodge Charger would be my pick and the E7 the least favorite. I haven't heard much about the Taurus, as far as being talked about with agencies. It's my belief that the Caprice and the Charger will quickly become the most common vehicles in use by US law enforcement agencies. They both have performed very well on tests I've seen. The Chevy Tahoe has it's purpose within an agencies fleet, but won't ever be a sedan. I do think you left out the Chevy Impala, unless that's been discontinued too. It's cheaper then the rest of the vehicles listed, but honestly I don't know how it matches up with any of them. I've used them in the past and haven't been "wowed" by their performance. Police budgets do weigh heavily on what agencies select, and even though most of these vehicles are around the same price (around $30K) it could weigh heavily in what you see on the streets. With all that being said I love the fact the E7 was built ground up to be for law enforcement and not using a regular sedan and modifying for police use. For those interested in some of the performance breakdowns and results from the Michigan State Police tests. http://www.allpar.com/squads/police-cars/MSP-cars-2012.html

Emergency 4 - How real do you dispatch? (LA Mod or other)
I don't understand how the latest emergency version failed so hard!

Emergency 4 - How real do you dispatch? (LA Mod or other)
I would play until I'd run into a bug where a vehicle blocked the street but I couldn't get it to move/redirected. That would back up traffic and then slowly kill all the streets around it until things started to get gridlocked. Loved the LA mod, but I never like the AI pathfinding in the game, so frustrating!

The closest thing I've seen is having the take down lights on activating an upturned spotlight (with ELS). Looks good but isn't really anything more then an extra headlight

E.V.I. Release Topic
Both Yakadafi and KevinDV said they've had enough. No more models, but I'd love for them to come back. They just don't want to spend the amount of time and effort on modeling when someone can so easily rip it and put it in their project. Without the models being locked/protected I just don't see them returning. I'm not even sure if the OpenIV guys care or could put some sort of protection on the vehicle models. It's incredibly frustrating. For people who've never modeled they just don't understand the time involved in just understanding how to use the program and using the techniques, let alone create something that looks good. Maybe it could have all been avoided if people just showed respect for other peoples work, maybe not. *Sigh*

I get to drive one of these for a few days
I like the 2012 Chevy Caprice PPV and I've heard a lot of positive things about them. They'll probably do quite well in the market, a little on the expensive side but certainly a performer. Also, I've been on quite a few ride along's and most officers advise against buying used police vehicles. These vehicles take some "minor abuse" over their short careers

EMS car fire/police packs that you recommend?
There's so many models out right now, all depends on what you like. Most modelers solo release their stuff. To give you an idea of some of the stuff out there right now watch Rextex128's video's here: http://www.youtube.com/user/rextex128?blend=1&ob=0 For British stuff try British Police Mods http://www.youtube.com/user/BritishPoliceMods Were your crashes ELS related?

I'm working on some new ped models since I'm not happy with the way the originals look. I'll post new uniforms with campaign hats sometime in the future.

ELS Dot Net (Formerly Illumination 2.0)
My new favorite WIP. I'm really glad you're working on this! ELS is a great system but has many drawbacks and turnoffs to many people. I personally love the variety of light patterns in ELS and think that it's very important to have it in Illumination 2.0. Will you be able to control the size of the light being displayed? That would be very important. It would be nice to have more control over what lights are activated (front/rear, traffic advisor, take downs, alley, spotlight, etc), just like the real systems. Also, it'd be great to have control over the speed of the lights. Some vehicles use a steady burn (California for example) others use very fast strobe patterns. I know people loved that strobe pattern found in PPM. Will there be a visual difference between halogen/strobe? Can you build in a siren feature like ELS? (I know AI doesn't respond to it, but half the time people don't respond to real sirens, it's just a nice feature) Will this support added vehicles (ie; police5, ambulance2, firetruk2, etc)? I don't think anyone would turn down a chance to beta test this! The very thought of having all the emergency vehicles using this system and not crashing the game, it's too good to be true.....

Rockstar Games: GTA & GTA 2 Now Free
I can still remember the new vehicle mods for it. My first attempt in the series at modifying a vehicle and it was a big fail (had trouble creating depth). LOL The CHP model was sick!

Vehicle Handling
First off make a backup of your handling.dat file (it's a good idea to backup any original files you replace no matter what the mod). Then follow this tutorial and use the settings c13 posted above which are from Sgt.Kanyo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_wAPEQivuw&feature=related

Cleaning cars
If you like your vehicles always clean, or you can set it for certain models, you can modify the game settings. Rextex128's tutorial : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYsLTv0VSiY

Your best bet to finding these models is searching by the model name (included in the readme file) most of the models are from GPM

How to make skins for gta4
GIMP is also a great option and is free. If you have access to Photoshop it is the best and easiest to use. I've also heard of people using paint.net (there are tutorials for that on youtube). My friend Lonestranger has a great tutorial on GPM in the knowledge base section. Also JDSGraphics makes some of the best textures out there right now and he has several photoshop tutorials on his youtube channel. If you end up using GIMP things may be slightly different, but most of the techniques cross over from photoshop. Best of luck! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QRv35d8UxY&list=UU7NdVaYmpx7hNLaXpqVRTLQ&index=15&feature=plcp

Simple Native Trainer
@Dhruv do you know what the 4th value does? I'm assuming that not all vehicles respond to all of the c1-c4 changes? @gnat326 that's exactly what I needed! +1
