  1. It looks like one of the most basic police liveries has just become one of the best ones!
  2. Update - Another video uploaded: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A friend of mine managed to capture some rare and fantastic footage of a response in one of the Met's new Skoda Octavia ANPR Area Cars, and I thought I'd like to share it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q35YdLDlFs This is a picture of the type of vehicle from the outside: Honestly, it's a privilege to see footage from this viewpoint - we all know that ride-alongs are common in America and at police open days over here in the UK, but how often do you actually get to see from inside one responding in a London Borough! Important Note: NO UK-US bashing in this thread please, it will just lead to non-constructive discussion. This is mainly for the UK police enthusiasts on our forums, and those interested in UK policing. For the full list off videos check out his channel! https://www.youtube.com/user/Thirdwatchandgta

  4. More as a supplement to a taxi bug fixer. I like the sound of it. God help my game's textures when I play with my modded one though...
  5. It's great to see someone putting time and effort into the original game's universe. Although there are so many fantastic vehicle mods based off real police departments, many that use ELS, none can fit into the game so flawlessly and originally as what was made for it in the first place. Well done.
  6. Used to have a go at this plugin: http://addons.teamspeak.com/directory/plugins/miscellaneous/WalkieTalkie.html Don't think it works on the newer versions though, but it's worth a try
  7. If you like whelens, my Alpha/Beta pack is worth a try - even though it was created mainly for London & UK services, it's the exact same that some US police departments use, and you can disable the two-tone/HiLo with the ELS settings if you don't like it.
  8. I have edited my post. Please reconsider. On regards to the current ratings - do you think the current mods could have points added to them based on the current ratings that they have, if there was a new system? It would be a shame to see great mods such as vDH Police Helper and Bravehearts Policing Script go back to zero again.
  9. The ratings feature in the downloads section is getting rather like the YouTube dislike feature recently. I have known decent mods that instantly get bombarded with 1-star ratings the moment they get approved because of some trolls/haters with multiple accounts who are very active on these forums and the download section, keeping tabs on their "favourite" modders. I think it would be a good idea if there was either: 1) A requirement to give a reason for ratings < 5 or that affect the total score, similar to what used to be used in the negative rep feature on forum posts, or 2) A like-only feature to prevent negative ratings, so that trolls would not be able to damage mod ratings (if the mod was really that shit, no one would rate it high anyway) Some modders who have just started out with less publicity, have been attacked quite viciously by these "trolls" and they lack the audience to repair the ratings. As a consequence, their work gets put to the bottom of the list and their talent missed out. I think something should be done about this. Especially since we have a system that actually filters out mods by their rating - see "View all 5 star vehicle textures" filter for instance.
  10. It's real. Knew the community was going to come across that vid sooner or later ;) Suits the pattern and equipment quite well - finally the NYPD has some meat in their fleet

  11. Well isn't that nice to know... You still have Wal-Mart, Burger King, US TV shows and music, Call of Duty - it's unavoidable now and its not your country's fault - it's due to globalization. It's getting like that over here as well. Alot of the material is quite good - but, it's still part of American culture. Whenever we go online - we face American T&Cs, our services are governed by US laws - take YouTube and Mediafire for example - they are both based in the US and are widely used worldwide. It's like that old song by Rammstein. Globalization is required to some degree to push humanities efforts forward (esp. in the field of Science), but as a consequence, countries gradually lose a bit of their identity (hopefully not all) in the process. If SOPA pulls the plug on them or pressurises them to comply with their new 'laws', they have to do it or face legal charges. Thus you meet new T&C on the most widely used sites, to comply with the new laws passed. This is one of the main reasons why YouTube has become more restrictive in the recent years. This is why I'm in favour of efforts for the bill to be stopped. I can understand the reasons why such a bill would be passed, but like many other users across this site and web, it wouldn't be to my favour; the suggested terms sound a bit much, they could be perverted to any manner. And it would probably spread to many other countries when passed, or atleast affect them, seeing as most of the servers who host the social networking and media sites we so much love and adore are based in the very country who might pass it.
  12. This will most likely kill all youtube gameplay & preview videos, modding and much much more... @All those people who think they're so secure because they live in "Canada" or "Australian" - don't think yourself so secure when your own countries (as well as mine) now nearly all follow suit to the American way of life quite closely - of course you might have some minor differences but stop and think what globalization has done to the structure of our countries - nearly everywhere has a Burger King, a form of Wal-Mart (be it under different names like Asda), everyone wants to act American because it sounds 'cool'... If it doesn't stop in America it will soon become a world custom to do so - as long as its done by "Americans" it seems to be deemed 'alright' to do by the rest. Also, nearly all of the network sites we use are based in the US, thus have to comply with US law - YouTube, Facebook, Mediafire - just look at Megaupload and see what happened to them... I hope this tumour will be cut off before it spreads.
  13. Don't they use ELS-7 in express mode? Atleast, that was what it was created for.
  14. Yeah...
  15. All the following vehicles entered service this year 2013 or late last year. The current trend is that the Met is doing away with the old red stripe "jam sandwich" livery and enforcing new battenburg liveries on all of their new vehicles. 2013 Hyundai i30 Incident Response Vehicle 2012-13 Skoda Octavia Area Car (ANPR) 2013 BMW X5 E70 Armed Response Vehicle Ford Transit Station Van (Prisoner transport & officer carrier to you non-British) Quite a few more vehicles also in service, but I posted the most interesting ones...
  16. Not the same for London. Sometimes they will pursue motorbikes and stolen vehicles quite viciously
