  1. I found this game on steam and wanted to get your opinions on it. It seems to be a cross between starmade, BeamNG.drive, and X Rebirth. The coolest feature I saw was the crash physics and deformation, plus the way you build is miles ahead of starmade! Here is a video that showcases the collisions really well: All in all, I'm really excited for this game and will probably buy it.
  2. You could also try using sparkIV to import the texture. That's what I use when openIV doesn't work.
  3. Ah ok. That's slightly simpler than what I had in mind. :P
  4. Yeah, you have a point. However, while Battlefield tries to be realistic, it has to also balance multiplayer gameplay. If the US had a gunship but the other team didn't, the other team would need either a gunship of their own or some other advantage that equals out the disadvantage. Of course in a real battle, the teams would not be "balanced" but in a multiplayer game, they have to be. If you want super realistic military combat simulation, choose Arma.
  5. Ok. If it didn't derail in a tunnel, they could just use a crane to stick the derailed cars back on the track, but I'm sure it's more complicated since you can't bring that kind of crane into a tunnel.
  6. Which track was the train traveling on, the one on the right or the middle track? It's hard to tell from the photos.
  7. this. Call of Duty is enjoyable, I must say, but realistic? Absolutely not! Battlefield dominates CoD in realism.
  8. Just use bxbug's cvpi and add your own lights.
  9. Before you install any mods, you have to back up your entire GTA IV folder in case something goes amiss (like it just did). If you made a backup, replace your pc/models/cdimages with the one from the backup. If you didn't back it up, download the cdimages folder from here and replace your cdimages folder with the one from the download.
  10. Happy birthday man! Thanks for founding such a wonderful site! :D
  11. Yeah, I meant in front of his house. You do have a good point though.
  12. Someone asked about this a while ago, and there actually was a script someone created that did exactly that, but they never publicly released it. You can search on YouTube for the video of it or on the forums for the topic.
  13. You could do that or even just make it yourself, it's not like it has to be high poly, as you can see from his picture.
  14. Make sure you have the collision model in the right spot
  15. Well, if the school has proof of anti-semitism from a certain individual, the school should reprimand the bully. If the behavior continues, expel the bully. A lot of the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the parents, though. If the parents know that their child is being bullied by a certain kid, then the parents should talk to the bully's parents to sort things out. Usually that will fix things, but if the parents are bullies like the kid, some "forceful negotiating" may be required. I know that the Jewish have always been bullied and will continue to be in the future, but it still disgusts me how this kind of bigotry can occur.
  16. Yeah, you wouldn't want to miss anything!
  17. You should have videoed it! Stuff like that doesn't happen every day! I know someone who had their house raided by police. Turns out they got the house number wrong and they were looking for the people two doors down! They ended up getting the police chief fired and some other officers demoted because not only did the officers not double check the address, they also tried to cover it up afterwards.
  18. I can't wait for this to come out! European/British roads are a complete mystery to me, I always get tickets for something. Now I will never have to drive through a roundabout again! I have lived in California all my life and I have only seen one roundabout (it's by the entrance to Legoland). I wonder if you will be able to drive up into the Sierra Nevada mountains; it would certainly be a challenge to drive an 18 wheeler up steep, curvy, two-lane roads. I'm assuming since the box says "starter pack", we will have to pay for more states. If SCS Software is nice though, they'll release a few states for free. Alaska doesn't actually have that many roads. Some of the major cities you can drive into, but a lot of cities just connect up to one highway, so it takes forever to drive from one city to another even if they are geographically close. That is why the preferred methods of transport are by air or water. You should watch some ETS 2 videos on youtube or download the demo, it's actually quite relaxing and enjoyable.
  19. If you have any other modded cars installed besides police cars, I would replace those with the original cars to cut down on memory usage. Also, try turning down the traffic density, render distance, and detail distance. EDIT: Disable traffic loader too, you may not see a difference, but combined with what I suggested, it might help.
  20. Yeah, I was quite amazed at how stable the game was considering it's in such an early stage of development. Make sure you save blueprints of your ships so in case you get attacked by pirates you can just respawn it instead of building it all over again. Also, I wouldn't recommend storing all your items in the ship, because if you lose the ship, you lose all your items (That just happened to me two days ago). I'd recommend making a space station (in a pirate-free sector) and storing your stuff there, or if you don't have enough money, make a base on a planet (the downside to that is that big ships, especially huge replica ships like the enterprise get trapped in the gravity field of the planet and don't have enough thrust to lift off. Huge ships also cause FPS lag when they aren't docked and are just sitting on the ground on a planet.)
  21. I always bring my gamecube in the car and hook it up to a 5 inch portable screen. Playing splitscreen on that is the best, because you can't see anything! *Notice: Do not try this with an xbox 360, the game will fall out of the disk drive and scratch itself irreparably (I bumped mine once when it was sitting on the floor and it ruined my forza 3 disk).
  22. I believe he wants someone to convert the model to GTA IV but improve it so it doesn't look like it only has 50 polygons in the entire model.
