[HELP] Detaching Parts on Zmodeler
You have to be in a mode other than object mode. I usually use polygon mode for detatching pieces. Select the polygons you want to detach and then use the detach tool (make sure to have selected mode on). This tutorial is very useful, and I recommend you read it, as it may answer some other questions you may have: http://www.zmodeler2.com/docs/program/lessons/basics/contents.html

I think this is the best explanation. If you have a desktop, then try a different mouse.

Need some help with Zmodeler
Under the tutorials section of this website, you'll find some more very helpful ELS mapping tutorials that may help. Regarding the rambar lights, ELS takes advantage of extras (like extra_5 and extra_6). The housing for the light can be made in whatever fashion you want, just don't make the housing an extra itself, as ELS will strobe it like it is a light. You only want to map the light-up part to the extra, so it will appear as if it is turning on and off. If that didn't make any sense, read the tutorials in the tutorials section and look at some existing lightbars in zmodeler and understand how they function. Also, the uv mapper won't show any textures until you select the material (click the button in the bottom left corner of the uv mapper window). I would post screenshots, but I'm on mobile. Hope this helps! :)

Help please!
It could be ELS v7, but it also could be the car model exported weird and gta can't load it. Try viewing the car model in openiv and see if it loads correctly. If openiv crashes, then that means either zmodeler messed up when it exported it, or something is wrong with the car model in zmodeler (like wrong names or something) If openiv crashes when trying to view the car, that means that zmodeler probably just exported the model wrong, so try re-exporting it. If openiv can open the car, then something is wrong with gta itself (or it's mods). To see if is ELS, move ELS.asi to somewhere else and then launch the game. Hope this helps :)

Help please!
To create the wtd file, you need to use openiv (http://openiv.com/, the site is currently undergoing maintenance, but the download link is at the bottom of the page). First open up vehicles.img under models/cdimages, find the vehicle's wtd file that you will be replacing, then backup the file using the extract file button. Then, turn on edit mode and click the edit file button. Delete all the textures within the wtd file and import your textures! (Don't import the vehicle_generic textures though) Once you've done that, just import your wft file and you are good to go! (make sure that the wft and wtd file both have the same name, like police2 or polpatriot) You can view the model once you import it by clicking the view model button.

Material Problem in Zmodeler
Ok, thanks! I'm still not seeing the transparency in game, but it could be the way i applied it in paint.net, so I'll see if that fixes it. EDIT: The transparency problem was caused by the vehglass textures for the lights not being the last material in the materials editor. To fix it, first make sure to have the proper textures ordered and applied correctly, as BOVRILwares said earlier. Second, create a copy of the existing vehglass material that you made for the lights and simply assign the copy to where the original was applied. If everything turns out well, delete the obsolete original texture to keep everything neat and organized, and you are good to go! :)

Help please!
You can edit models with 2.2.6 and 2.2.1 (though a 2.2.6 z3d file cannot be opened with 2.2.1, 2.2.6 can still open 2.2.1 z3d files). Also, as long as you register your 2.2.6 version with your registration code, importing should not be affected, so there would be no need for you to use the 2.2.1 version.

Help please!
If you have purchased any version of zmodeler 2, then all future updates (2.x.x) are free. You can use any version of zmodeler 2 without registering, but you just can't import, although you can export. So, if you have already made your car, all you have to do is open up the z3d file in the newer version and then export it.

Help please!
You are probably using an old version of zmodeler (like 2.2.1), which didn't have .wft export filters. In order to export, you have to update to a newer version (anything above 2.2.4 should be fine). You can update with ZMautoupdate.exe, which is in the same folder as the zmodeler executable. Alternitavely, you could visit the zmodeler website and download the latest version (2.2.6): http://www.zmodeler2.com/?mode=downloads. Once you have a newer version, you should be able to open up the .z3d file and export it to .wft with no trouble. :)

Problems with keys in-game (ELS)
Try re-mapping the lighting stage key to something other than j, like backslash, as the J key itself could be conflicting with something besides trainer.

Material Problem in Zmodeler
xD. Ok, I mapped another material with the textures laid out as you said. The color is there, but the glass still isn't translucent in-game (it's translucent in zmodeler): http://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_05_2013/post-75491-0-52916100-1369259198.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_05_2013/post-75491-0-08123500-1369259208.jpg

Material Problem in Zmodeler
Well, I checked, and I had already added every texture I used in zmodeler (besides the generic) to the .wtd file. What I suspect might be the problem is the way I set up the materials in zmodeler, because its pretty confusing to me. This is the material for the rear (amber) bulbs of the police lights:

Material Problem in Zmodeler
Hi everyone! I've been working on my first car model, and I'm pretty new to zmodeler. I've been able to resolve most of the issues on my own, but this one I haven't been able to figure out. Basically, in Zmodeler, the lights and siren I made show up perfectly fine, textures and all: But when I load it in game, the lights and siren are just a light grey color: Any help is appreciated! :)

Disregard, Incident is Code 4
From my understanding of it, code 4 simply means no further help needed. I'm pretty sure the game chooses random events to be code 4. It may seem as if only murders are getting code 4, but try playing for a bit without reloading the scripts and rebooting to see if you can be dispatched to murders that aren't code 4. If you don't already use it, I suggest you use Braveheart's policing script, as it has many more missions than the default dispatch system:

Need some help with Zmodeler
It could be that the els light textures themselves were not imported into the wtd. It could also be that the els textures you originally imported into zmodeler were dds, while the rest of the model was png. It will load the textures in zmodeler, but when you export the model, it will only export one file type at a time, in this case png. The solution is to convert the dds files into png files, either through a photo editing program or through openiv. For adding more els lights, you can see this tutorial: http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/vehicle-modification-tutorial/video-adding-more-lights-r42

Need some help with Zmodeler
I'm not sure about the lighting, it could be that the lightbar and rambar textures got messed up if you didn't import those models' textures as png like the rest of the model. You should be able to change the name of the model when exported, but it will change the handling characteristics unless you modify the handling.dat.

ZModeler 2.2.6 - Car/Model not importing
Although I'm pretty new to zmodeler, I know that importing is restricted to registered users. If you found a key online, it is blacklisted and won't let you import. If you did register it with a proper key, it could be that the models you are trying to import are locked.
