  1. Hopefully within the next month I'll at least release a beta version. The beta version probably won't have all the interior details and may still have some bugs, but I know a lot of people can't wait for me to release it. The reason it's been taking me so long is I've had to learn a lot as I made it. I had good working knowledge of piecing together unlocked parts in zmodeler before, but I've had to learn a lot about scratch modeling and converting.
  2. Yep! I've been trying to make it as accurate as possible!
  3. Thanks! The current template I made for it sucks, so I'm planning on re-mapping it and releasing the template with it. The lights are only free of bugs because they are steady-burn. ELS reloads the vehicle model each time a light needs to be toggled on or off, but since the lights aren't flashing, ELS doesn't need to reload the model, thus the bugs are not present. Sorry to get your hopes up about some magic fix. :P
  4. It will be ELS, but if you turn off the rear amber flashers and just leave the front red lights on, you won't get any of the ELS "bugs" like the door glitching and damage reset.
  5. I've been working on a LAPD '71 AMC Matador, which they used in the later seasons. Right now I'm making a new CP-100 siren model because the one I currently have is not very accurate. I've been putting updates on my profile page in case people wanted to see my progress.

  7. Well, first of all, make sure you have a legal copy of zmodeler. It also might be a bug with version 2.2.4, try updating to 2.2.6. Also, you need to import the texture files for the model before importing the actual model. Not doing so will result in your model not having any textures. If you import a model and then see texture errors in the box on the bottom, press undo and load in the missing textures then re-import the model.
  8. Yeah, those wheel covers are just bizarre.
  9. I've actually used blender to create some models before, but that's only because I am proficient with blender and too lazy to learn 3ds max. Blender is definitely a good tool, but I'd recommend learning 3ds max if you are serious about modeling. If you decide to create models with blender, it's relatively straightforward to import those objects into zmodeler. Zmodeler can import both .3ds and .obj files, but I've found that obj tends to keep the model as close to how it appeared in blender. I'd recommend just making the mesh in blender, then exporting it to zmodeler to add textures and materials.
  10. The texture shouldn't be an issue. What usually is the problem is that the extras are lower in the hierarchy than the windows, as the extras should be above the windows.
  11. It would be great if you could post some screenshots of the model and the material setups in order for us to narrow down what is causing the problem.
  12. You can only have 9 extras per vehicle. 1-4 are mapped to the primary lights, 5-6 are for the wig-wags/takedowns, and 7-9 are the secondary lights. Refer to the ELS 7 pdf that came with the download for more info on how the extras should be set up.
  13. I would check to make sure the materials are applied correctly.
  14. I believe that the trailer hit head-on with the van, so the guard on the rear of the trailer would have not affected the collision.
  15. Unfortunately, once a person is world-famous and has more money than he knows what to do with, he can finance things that a normal person his age can't afford (like fast cars, drugs, and other things). Then when he gets in trouble, he can throw a lot of money at a good attorney to represent him. Justin Bieber has tons of adoring fans, probably many who wish to be just like him. When those fans see him doing drugs, driving on drugs, and drag racing, some will probably start thinking it's ok to do those things. Personally, I don't give a crap about what Justin Bieber is doing, but going back to what I said above, he has a huge fan following, which a large part of which is young, impressionable children. What I do care about is how he is influencing those kids and their decisions. I'm sure a lot of those children desire to be like Justin Bieber, and when they see him doing stuff like this, it could make them think, "Well, Justin does those things, so its ok for me to do them too!"
  16. I find it sad that celebrities can break the law and receive little or no punishment for it, while an ordinary person would be facing huge fines and jail time.
  17. There should be some nodes named something like siren1, and I believe you just need to create a new node and name it something like siren5 (assuming you already have 4). You can take a look at some unlocked non-els lightbars to see how exactly to set them up. Also, I believe that the different car slots allow a different amount of non-els lights, depending on how many the original (vanilla) model had.
  18. Yes, I know it is legal to listen on any frequency, I meant that transmitting was illegal, thus making it a waste of money to buy a fully functional transceiver when you could buy a scanner for a lower price (usually). After re-reading the original post, I saw that he already owns the maratrac (I missed that when I read it initially), so it doesn't really matter that a scanner would probably be the more frugal purchase. I agree with you on the point that buying a retired cvpi and outfitting it with all the police equipment is usually just not a wise thing to do. I also think some people buy cvpi's (and install police equipment on it like spotlights and a pushbar) so they can use it as an excuse to drive irresponsibly. I have seen people who drive their cvpi like they are impervious to both traffic laws and common courtesy. I'm all for people buying cvpi's, it's just some people buy them for the wrong reasons.
  19. If the handling lines in GTA V are anything like the ones in IV, it should be fairly straightforward to adjust both the handling and crash damage once it comes out on PC.
  20. I get why you would want to install equipment like the lighting and siren box, as they have a practical use, but I really don't see the point in installing a functional radio. I could see if you had a ham radio license or something, but sinking a couple hundred bucks into something you can't even legally use just seems like a waste of money to me (especially since you are going into debt to buy it).
  21. You have to have a copy of zmodeler and an unlocked car model to change that.
  22. Did the video uploader code the xft importer himself? As far as I'm aware, there isn't one publicly available, though there are several wips (like a max script importer).
