Reports have come in saying Deklab police came into the wrong house after receiving a 911 call about a burglary, three police officers came in and shot the homeowner and dog, not sure how this happened or if it's true.

It actually isn't uncommon to be sent to a wrong address. There aren't really any details about exactly what happened but based on what is known the officers shouldn't have gone in guns blazing. It doesn't make any mention of whether or not the identified themselves or attempted to give the homeowner commands before opening fire, the former being a very important detail.

Without a clear description select a house, enter it, shoot a dog, then a person... That's how a potential burglary is handled today? The owner is really lucky to be alive, considering the American policy "shoot to the center of mass".
