Why doesn't the military handle large riots
I can't speak for everyone, so maybe it's just certain bases. But I know in tech school they use the opportunity to help with the training. And where I'm stationed at Andrews AFB there's a big opportunity to get out and work with local agencies.

Why doesn't the military handle large riots
Like I said, we're not going out on our own helping them. We're attached directly with an officer. As in an officer of the agency/department we're with is never more than like 10 feet off. They actually do the "official" arresting. We're nothing more than extra man power and hands. I would give anything to be there or anywhere else instead of saluting officers 50 times a day inhaling jet fuel vapor!

I did some training at MacDill AFB. At least you're not sitting on your ass at base. Stay safe.

Riots in St. Louis
As I stated in the beginning of this thread. A white cop shot a black teen in a black neighborhood with black neighbors as eyewitnesses. Is racism that bad in Ferguson? **Rant incoming** I'm not racist by any means, but it makes me livid to know that these eye witnesses may not have seen anything and are rioting over the fabricated claims of a white man killed black man. Everything has to be a hate crime nowadays. I'm not saying they don't happen, but you can't automatically assume it is. The media is not innocent by any means. As well as guys like Al Sharpton. You don't even know what the hell happened and you're demanding they release his Name? I wouldn't be this irate if the riots were happening after the investigation and it was found to be a bad shoot. But nobody knows yet. People have died over this. Is it really worth It? And people wonder why I'm a pessimist.... **Rant over** The evidence coming out seems to support the officers claims but they still have much more investigating to do. But as of now, it's not looking good for the witnesses and rioters.

Why doesn't the military handle large riots
Nope. It's done quite a lot. I had a few guys that were training for a working dog handler (military version of K-9), and they routinely work with PD's and federal LEAs. The this is, we're partnered with a civilian/federal LEA. Which means anything we do, we're doing through them, not as military. I myself worked along with the Border Patrol/CBP in my training. It's done a lot of more through training then anything else. The main thing is that we're not doing any of that as military personnel, even though we wear the uniform. I'm a lowly pleb in a giant chess game, so I don't have the regs and policies on what it explicitly states (I leave it to those who don't work, AKA officers ) But it's only done in communities that house a military base. So we wouldn't be going to the ass-crack of South Dakota. That's why we do it A LOT in training. The training is in San Antonio, TX which is like less that 30 min from the border, hence the reason we work very closely with CBP. Funny story, Part of the training takes place on the air base, but is nothing but like 5 miles off rough fields and hills. Well my friend who went through like 2 years ago, said when they were doing their urban combat drills, 7 illegal aliens darted across the field. He said all 50 trainees took off after them and and restrained them. He said their TI didn't care about them and just made sure they put the handcuffs on properly.

Why doesn't the military handle large riots
Interesting tidbt; The active military is highly involved in situations outside of a military installation. I routinely help LEOs from police departments and federal agencies in their tasks. I restrain, detain, issue orders/citations to US and even foreign citizens. However the difference being that I'm not acting as a member of the US military, I'm acting as an LEO from whomever I'm helping. Same thing when there are doctors, medics, firefighters, etc actively helping in society. That's the difference. There are almost never "combat groups" deployed in the US to help. The only military who are deployed in the US to help are service oriented like what I just listed.

Why doesn't the military handle large riots
They're rarely used. Unless something like the Aryan nation decides to arm up and takes the fighting to the streets all across the nation, federal LE agencies would be used. I wouldn't hesitate to drop a US citizen if he posed a direct threat to the Constitution or the president.

Why doesn't the military handle large riots
Is it funny and ironic that active duty military personnel's job is not to protect citizens of the US? Their job is to defend the Constitution of the US. So unless riots are posing to overthrow the government or groups with terrorist like tactics, the military won't be used. Unless the president explicitly orders it which is rare. The National Guard on the other hand could get involved. But it would need to be a situation where there is a serious threat to the state or local government or to where the police are not able to protect citizens.

Reports of swat team injuring 2 children.
Yes, standing too close to a flashbang when it goes off will leave physical injuries on you. Yes, when they knock a door down, wooden fragments will go flying, same with a window except glass shards. Yes when a fully armed SWAT team executes a search warrant they're not gonna play Mr. Nice and ask you politely to move to the side; they'll push, shove, and hold you down if you're in their way.

Can someone explain why the whole "Brony" concept even exists? I know what it means, but why are males interested in My Little Pony? Isn't the show's targeted demographic young girls?

Self driving cars.
Wouldn't happen, or would be implemented as a hybrid option even more so than it already is. One, a lot of people enjoy driving. Also, I would imagine there's WAY too many variables to take into consideration. Weather, construction, sudden car movements that are directly in your way, destinations being known to the computer on board, should it take the shortest route or the quickest route and choosing on the fly plus detours, etc. You would have to convert an entire area over at once. Trying to have even 100 self driving cars on the road with 1000 human drivers would be disastrous, not to mention all the variables I mentioned. Only way I could see it happening, is if, say, LA or NY converts, at once and entirely, to "Self driving cars ONLY". Then maybe it would work. Although I don't see the Gov't shelling out billions for a science experiment that may not catch on to the general public. Either one of two ways would be more plausible. If they implement the technology in existing cars now, even more so now that "accident avoidance". That could work although how cost effective would it be. The best way to me is converting all city transit to self driving. Like 1 or 2 big buses maybe. I hope I'm not alive whenever it happens. I don't want to live in the world of iRobot. Although how funny would it be to see a self-driving cop pull you over and spit out a computer generated ticket?

Can Police Officers record their stops with their own camera?
They'd be allowed, but you're an idiot if you do. That shit would be subpoenaed for the most minute thing. Plus defense lawyers could spin police harassment, police brutality, etc so easily. EVERYTHING the officer does HAS to be by the book, TO THE "T".

Riots in St. Louis
Not to sound racist or anything, but it was black unarmed teenager shot by a white cop, in a black neighborhood. The media is eating this up. If you watch news Interviews, they ask a black resident what she thought. She stated something along the lines of it being disgusting and wrong what the police did. They ask if she saw it and she said no. Basically everyone in that neighborhood is going to side with the deceased. The media is spinning it into a hate crime. Again, I'm not trying to sound racist or make a racist post. If I find the video of the interview I'll post it.

Would I be able to play gta iv with these mods on my computer?
Unfortunately you're probably looking at playing at low, and that would take a miracle.

Just announced! 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit!
Exactly. People seem to think that because it is a Charger, it is the fastest and most powerful police car. The Taurus takes that spot. Plus I prefer a utility/tactical style police car over a "sexy" one.

Israel-Gaza conflict
Well its safe to say that the UN wasn't exactly smart by deciding to just declare Israel a Jewish state, regardless of biblical prophecies. You basically took it from the Muslims and the country is surrounded by other Islamic countries. Islamic Extremists at that. Israel has no allies in the ME. Only enemies. If the US got involved in any way, I feel that it would be a catalyst for huge war implicating some very very bad countries.
