GTA4 Police Member, the invincibility/door bug will never be able to be overcome (at least I don't think so) because of the inherent way the game handles vehicle 'extras'. As the Emergency Lighting System manipulates and cycles the extras system it constantly rebuilds the vehicle restoring it to maximum health hence the 'bug'. On the other hand the Emergency Vehicle Control System (EVCS) uses custom scripting of the default corona (non-ELS) based lighting system (I don't know as much about that script). I hope that clarifies some aspects of ELS. Cheers.

In my game I use a combination of Liberty City PD, New Liberty SP, Alderney City PD, New Alderney SP as my primary departments and other liveries based around geographically correct 'lore friendly' departments (no LAPD etc...). I do adapt supplied/downloaded suitable liveries to fit vehicles I wish to use. Cheers.
