Hm. Well, I don't think this is the problem, but to see if a folder is read-only, right click on it and click Properties. At the bottom should be a few check boxes; make sure none of them are checked. If this isn't it, then I'm stumped. Could you post LCPDFR.log, and any other logs you can find in your GTA folder?

Oh yeah that freeway is excelent for getting perps. Using your map, I put an orange dot at an intersection where, for some reason, noone going north/south uses a signal for left turns, and noone going east/west uses a signal for right turns, so sometimes I just sit at that intersection and pull people over left and right. **EDIT: I fail...I forgot to upload the map lol

The one your looking for is called subu_sign_1 (if I remember right, I don't think he called them police_sign_1 in that one). That is the texture for the car body.

Having more RAM is never bad, trust me... Anyhow, I have some general questions that may have been asked in your other threads, but I'm not checking them to find out....Way too much of a time waste. So here goes: Do you have GFWL (Games For Windows Live)? Are you running everything as an administrator? Are your GTA IV folders read-only? Does the game work if LCPDFR is not installed? Is everything on your system up to date? i.e. video drivers, sound drivers, etc.

If you don't have any recovery disks, I think you may have to buy a copy of the operating system, and install it from there. Also, when we got our last two computers, we didn't get recovery disks... We had to do it ourselves.

MW3 has something called Survival Mode, in which you, alone, face off against waves of enemies that get harder as it goes on. Just figured I'd throw that one out there.

Car mods do not come with LCPDFR.

Ima bet $50 and say that you have ELS-enabled police cars? If so, this would be the issue most likely. See, ELS and LCPDFR don't always work right together, and it caues the game to crash sometimes when you try to call for backup/transport with ELS lights. The only way around this if you have this problem is to not use ELS-enabled vehicles for police and police2, as these are the most common cars spawned in-game (LCPDFR-wise).

At what stage does the game crash? i.e. After you log into the social club, or upon loading the savegame, etc.

Download and install GFWL (Games for Windows Live). Just do a quick Google search for it.

The lights won't work because you don't have ELS. As to the crashing, I'm not sure.

Huh...Thats a new one. What you could do is increase the flash delay in the ELS.ini, that will slow it down.

Ah. Okay the reason you can't find the line is because it doesn't exist in 0.91, as that version doesn't have any world events to begin with. So your particular problem must be something else.

Anyone here with one of those extremely high-end PC's wanna trade? hehe Anyway, I have police, police2, fbi, noose, and polpatriot modded, with the last three being ELS-enabled. I also have SNT, TrafficControl, Indicator, and Dashcam installed. Usually I can play until I decide to quit and do something else, though I sometimes crash if I decide to use SNT to put God mode on and unlimited ammo, and go on a rampage with a motorcycle .

I'm afraid someone else will have to answer that one, cuz I don't have a clue lol. The only thing about ENB that I know about is that I can't use it.

Okay, I have a feeling that this is about to derail into nonsense and attacks, so lets stop that before it starts, shall we? Try .91 and see if it works. It is not an old version, and actually none of us were supposed to have any version of .95 to test (except the testers chosen by the dev team, of course), so lets keep that in mind. Other than that, I don't know. For all I know, it could be something that will be resolved in another version of .95 (which we weren't ment to have at the onset).

What version of LCPDFR are you using again?

I think that last one you linked should be good for GTA IV as is.

The PC I have (an HP h8-1020) cost around $800 USD. Now, the graphics card is not that good (ATI Radeon HD 6570), but I can still play GTA IV decently. Granted its never gonna be able to have an amazing quality for GTA graphics (medium textures, and I think something else medium, rest low), but it works just fine. Moral of the story is you don't have to spend an amazing amount of cash, certainly not over $1000 to play GTA IV, even with its faults.

The stickies don't specifically say that it will not work on 1.0.4.0.
