If by that you mean that the game has to be in a certain location, no it does not. The game files can be anywhere at all on the computer and it will work. If, however, you mean that LCPDFR has to be in a certain location, then yes. It has to be installed to whereever the game files for your EFLC are, which as I said above, can be anywhere. On the third page of the LCPDFR installation, it shows the install directory. This can be changed by hitting the Browse button in the right-center part of the screen if the file path displayed is not that of your EFLC.

I have a Logitech G15 keyboard which has 6 special keys along the left-hand side. These keys can be programed for macros, or to act as a different key (i.e. The G1 key can be J, allowing it to perform any function that J has.) Would anyone know how to program the keys so that they work in GTA IV? I tried to do it myself, but they don't do anything in-game. **EDIT: To clarify, I would like these keys to be my ELS and siren keys.

I think you can have the LCPDFR installer install to anywhere. I think I remember one of the first screens showing the directory that it is installing to, with a Browse button.

Alt+M Opens the Light panel. The other commands you have are all correct.

*Points up to Tom's post* Also as to the callouts, the devs are aware of it, and I think are still looking into it.

Do you know everything/anything that you deleted? Such as Games For Windows Live, perhaps?

Also with regards to the positioning, aren't the lightbar positions for various models the same? For example, get 2 CV's both with Whelen Liberties, would the lightbars be in the same spot? Another way to say this is do the X, Y, Z coords change for each model, even if they have the same lightbar?

Keep in mind that both LCPDFR and ELS are mods. Some people get lucky and everything works perfectly, and hey, thats great! But not everyone gets lucky like that.

A really easy way is to open the 'Run' command, and type in 'dxdiag' without the quotes. To see the graphics card, click on the Display tab on the top.

If you are using Xliveless you cannot play online with or without LCPDFR. This is because Xlive disables Windows Live, or whatever the heck Microsoft called it, which is needed to play online.

To make it so you can see hidden folders, do this: Click Start Click Control Panel Click Appearence and Personalization Click 'Show hidden files and folders' under Folder Options The option for hidden folders is five check-boxes down

Um, there will be another version soon? I'd hate to burst your bubble, but the creator of ELS is no longer in the modding scene... Also with the ELS system, I don't think it is possible to "fix" this. This is because of how ELS works: When you hit the key to turn on the 'lights,' it causes the car model to reload very rapidly, each time loading a different 'extra,' which is the light texture. But, when a car loads, it also has to randomly load one of these extras, even though the lights aren't on. The thing with the AI is they cannot turn the lights on and off to correct it.

This most likely has to do with ELS. This is because LCPDFR doesn't really know how to handle ELS, and vice-versa (I have yet to find a good way to explain this lol). When LCPDFR tries to control the ELS lights, it sometimes messes up and crashes the game. It is for this reason that I do not have ELS-enabled vehicles for police, police2, ambulance, and firetruck, and also why I only call in regular backup during pursuits. The reason why the vehicles listed above are non-ELS is because they commonly spawn in-game (ambulance and firetruck only if you use TrafficFlow v5), and can cause crashes (mostly when another mod tries to do something with the lights).

Hm. So theoretically, this could work for any car, even if it is already ELS-enabled? Or am I way off on that?

Heck I'd love to help with this in someway, but idk how many people you want to test it lol. Judging from the screens, this looks promising. Would it be easier to change light colors than it currently is with ELS?
