Yup, I'm going to school so I can become a police officer. Anytime I hear people say they want to be cops I always ask them why? Was it because they thought it was like TV shows or do they really want to help people and become a police officer. Go through the ups and downs. The job isn't all glorious but is very rewarding for you as a person and the peoples lives you touch.

Officers don't get to just break the law anytime they want or use their lights and sirens whenever they want. An officer will get a call over the radio and he will make the decision based on the information he has whether or not he will respond with lights and sirens. The officer will also make judgement calls whether getting through red lights or going faster than the speed limit is needed.

I have an xbox and played GTAIV all the time on it. Now I have GTAIV for PC and don't need to play it on xbox. LCPDFR!!!! + OTHER MODS...can't beat it!

I don't know about the rest of you but I picked up my GTA 4 from walmart a few months back! They still had copies in the stores!!! I reserved it online and they gave me a refund because it was cheaper in the store than online.

The only time I ever saw a pushbar flash was when I had ELS enabled on my default ambulance.

The link above is to a forum full of verified police officers. There is an "ask a cop" section. I am going to school so I can become a police officer. Most departments require a highschool diploma and 60 college credits. You must have a clean background and be professional. Some departments have their own academies they will pay to send you to. Other departments may require you to self sonspor yourself through an academy similiar to paying your way through college. It all varies. The first thing you need to do is consider what your getting yourself into. You will be spending a lot of time and money into getting a degree (criminal justice is useless). Find somethin that interests you so if you don't become a cop you can still have a useful degree. Understand that LCPDFR, TV shows, and anything else you have ever seen does not show what it is like to be a police officer. An officer's job is not a glorious one. There are many movies out there that make people believe that a cop's job is cool because they get a car, a gun, and a badge. High speed chases and busting down doors as SWAT. Well the reality is that it is not a glorious job. An officer can see worse things than what can be found on a battlefield. Car accidents, suicides, homicides, drunk drivers, ect. Also with everything they do there is a ton of paper work involved. If an officer has to use their weapon because someone threatened their life they are at risk of losing their job because people have time to chip away bit by bit what they see on camera footage. Becoming a police officer is a rewarding job. You may work long hours, drown in paper work, be in extreme heat or cold weather, but in the end you are doing a job that many others would not do. You need to ask yourself. Are you there for the people who rely on you or the paycheck (badge, gun, car, pursuits, SWAT, TVstuff)? If you say paycheck becoming a police officer is not for you. We already have enough paycheck officers. Good luck

I modded the .ini file at it works. I was able to cycle through all cars fast without any slowing down or glitching out. It was a miracle. I also like the tazer on the belt feature!!!! + HARDCORE MODE IS AMAZING!

In america you cannot search a vehicle randomly for whatever reason you very well please as a police officer. A person could be speeding like a maniac but if you don't have probable cause or RAS you have no right to search the person or their vehicle. Now you could roleplay like you smell alcohol on their breath or smell marijuana in the vehicle take them out. Hold them, frisk them, search the car, and depending what happens arrest them. basically being able to search a vehicle with someone in the car I think is not needed. Now I think it would be cool if the suspect would get back in the vehicle instead of walking away after a frisk leaving a random vehicle on the road.

I think this post was by someone who didn't think this through or has no knowledge of how video games are created. LCPDFR would be an awesome game because it would be a game built for the purpose of playing as a cop in a free roam envrionment. However, I don't see it ever happening. We can only hope he get a GTA 5 LCPDFR version when that game comes out.

Is my thread I recently started on this issue. I don't see the point in having two threads on the same topic. I go in depth about the issue on my thread. I too have had issues with BXBUGS vehicles. His SUVs and sherriff car are nothing but issues. I don't use them anymore. I say we should head over to my thread and try and work out a solution. Some have said modifying the .ini file for LCPDFR will work. I guess we can test it and find out. What it comes down to is we are trying to do so much with a game that wasn't built to do any of it. So we have issues and bumps in the road.

I guess is another thread someone decided to start. I don't have any issues with ELS and backup. It is just certain models that usually look super good so I am guessing they are crazy hipoly. I will try modding the .ini file and let you know if it works.

I want to try and figure out a reason for something that has been an issue for a long time. I am sure others have had this issue and hopefully we can get it resolved so others can look upon this as a guide. When modding vehicles I have found that modding police 1 and police 2 usually have no issues at all. Throw any car you like in there and you can use it in game. You can mod handling lines and whatnot to make it drive better but in the end they usually work fine. FBI is usually the same. Only time I had an issue was with the unmarked charger in the downloads section with black bars showing out of the trunk but forgot how I was able to fix that. I know I had to configure something properly. I have found that the polpatriot slot and the noose slot when modding sometimes makes your character freeze in place and the graphics of the city and everything around you start to disappear. For example I start up the game and get ready to play as normal. When I use the vehicle selector during LCPDFR normal going on duty routine I find myself selecting my car and as soon as I hit the polpatriot slot or noose slot. (varies from vehicle model. Some work some don't) my character will be standing there with no vehicle to pick. I won't be able to move and the graphics slowly disappear. Why? I currently have the unmarked tahoe that was posted in the GTAIV section in the polpatriot spot and it works without freezing up. I have the state trooper car from the downloads section () in my noose spot and occasionally it will freeze up. Even when spawning the car with SNT it will freeze up. I am wondering what could possibly cause this. I have been modding my cars with models and skins for months now and 1 model out of a ton will cause this issue. I can duplicate my police 1 or police 2 file and put it in those slots without having any issues. So why do certain models cause issues. I believe it has to be something other than the car model causing the issue and it has to be the slot that is the issue. I hope we can resolve this to make everyones life a lot easier. A bonus note is that when I have these car issues my NOOSE backup fails everytime and causes crashes.

I don't want cars to all wait for me to complete a traffic stop. I guess it would be better than hitting me on a traffic stop. I wish they would just drive like normal people lol. I know it is how the AI is programmed that they react the way they do.

I am trying to get a list of mods together that people use to make LCPDFR even more fun to use. Everyone usually has their own custom cars, skins, uniforms, and weapons. However, what other mods do you use that make your experience with LCPDFR and GTAIV better. I use LCPDFR .95 RC2 ELS v6 Area Livery Mod Dashcam Mod Simple Native Trainer Lets get a list going.

Make it yourself. Not to be rude but it isn't hard to learn how to make skins. One of the easier things to learn how to mod in GTAIV Have you used sparkiv? Have you used gimp, photoshop, paint.net? Have you used youtube, google, or whateverfitsyourfancy? Well then you are almost on your way to making your own skin.

I think he wants to know how to change to color of his lightbar. I want to know how to change the color of the lightbar. Also how do you add lights to a car? such as headlight and brakelight hideaway strobes.

You can probably get custom police tape and stuff like that but I doubt you could get custom duct tape. Guess you can try or google custom tape and see what you get.

Good to know. However, I cannot get rid of my ELS. Maybe..just maybe I'll go non els fbi,noose,polpatriot since noose backup picks from those at random.
