  1. What is this headlight strobe effect?
  2. He's wondering where to find those textures in the game files. He knows where they are in game (they are in the law firm offices, and are the pictures of big-deal partners); he wants to replace them with pictures of cops (because he's turning it into a police station).
  3. I thought he meant having all different police vehicles (not just police and police2) patrolling. Like, there would be noose, police3, etc. on patrol. If that's what you meant, I have a mod here called "Traffic Spawner" that does just that.
  4. Also, it's not the Desert Eagle that comes up for me, it's the Pistol .44 (the TBOGT one).
  5. It does seem to be the first or second time I select my gun after going on duty. It should work on EFLC, though, because that's what the devs use .
  6. So that's a pretty big difference between the engines. Epic likes and supports mods, and will give you help in updating your mods. Rockstar won't.
  7. ENB *is*, at its core, a modified d3d9.dll. I'm pretty sure people's "ENBs" are just a combination of shaders and options for ENB, which is that file. d3d9.dll is the main DirectX graphics DLL (stands for Direct3D 9).
  8. When I draw my gun in EFLC, it often draws the .44 instead of the regular pistol (even though the last pistol I equipped was the regular one). Any idea why?
  9. What do you mean? Do you want no pushbar? Also: Rambar = pushbar, and Go Rhino is just a brand, not a style.
  10. Doesn't the Unreal engine officially support mods, though? I don't think Rockstar would consider breaking mods a bug, especially because they could work around it.

The mod he mentioned isn't actually Criminal Acts, so it may be different.
  12. You can write the code in any text editor, including Notepad++, Notepad, vim, ed, magnetic needle, butterflies, etc. SHDN will run uncompiled scripts (just drop in the .cs or .vb file), but if you want to compile for speed reasons, you probably want Visual Studio to compile it. Fortunately, there is an Express Edition that is somewhat more feature-limited, but fine for GTA modding, and is free. I've also heard of a free software VS alternative called SharpDevelop.
  13. Maybe it just feels like a long time. On second thought, that's probably it. Also: Thanks for all the info!
  14. Try rebooting. Just some generic Windows advice.
  15. So do you basically get a book's worth of info? ... Is this why it often takes a long time between being pulled over and having the cop get out to talk to you?
  16. As people have say, tags, registration, whether or not its stolen, etc. I can't imagine insurance being on an MDC; it's generally required to get the car registered, and you have to show proof once stopped, but I don't think the info is actually on the registration or in government databases. They can look up registered owner, so you can get info for that. You could also try asking Bailey23; he's a RL cop, so he'd know.
  17. You can also use C#, which is functionally equivalent to VB but looks and feels C-like.
  18. Why not use the sawhorse barrier? I'm pretty sure that's what cops tend to really use for cars (tape is best for people, but not as effective in stopping cars).
  19. Since you've finished the first mission, that won't be an issue. What happens when you press LEFT Alt+P? It should show a helpbox saying "Go to a police station to go on duty". Is that what happens? If you press Ctrl+P, it won't do car or model selection. That's very nice if you plan on using a trainer to set those, or if LCPDFR crashed and you're restarting it (in which case you already have car and model).
  20. Sniper: Will there be more awesome mods from you after this one, then? (referring to Interference's comment)
  21. Unlikely. All the people you mentioned use 1.0.7.0 or EFLC 1.1.2.0, and it is really hard to get something to work on a version of the game you don't have.

It generates names for ingame characters. However, those names don't actually affect anything in game, and are just for your reference when filling out forms on mdc.lcpdfr.com (you want to use the generated names so it can build up a history of certain suspects).
  23. What's in the latest update?
  24. Is Pawn actually based on C, or does it just have C-like syntax? There are actually fairly big differences between C and C++, and C# also has C-like syntax.
