  1. You don't need to buy it from a retail store. LEGAL downloads (e.g., Steam) will work just as well.
  2. It's college OR military. Military is not required (it can give you a leg up, but you won't be rejected for lack of military service).
  3. What script mods do you have installed?
  4. What? The two fuel gauges? The sideways van?
  5. Just be honest with them. If you think it would definitely DQ you, there's not much point applying, but, other than that, you'll never find out for sure unless you apply. I don't see much point in worrying about it, TBH; they may not even ask, and if they do, you shouldn't "game" your answer, so...
  6. Either: 1. Start a new game (since your game loads fine, you can do this in-game; the "new game" option is on the pause menu). 2. Find the folder where your savefiles are, and delete every file there. That is different depending on your ASI loader. Do you use dsound or xliveless?
  7. On a tangent, does anyone have any idea *why* it kills the save to save as not Niko? Does it mess up the code to retrieve your outfit?
  8. Search before you ask. If you had searched, you'd see this thread. @Asuna: I've never saved on duty, but from what I've heard, it means that you can't load *at all*. ahling023 can load, but he can't go outside. EDIT: Full explanation removed in favor of link to pre-existing thread.
  9. OK. I like to ask so I have a better idea of what goes where.
  10. Wouldn't this go in the LCPDFR.com section, not Random?
  11. A really great resource is the IRC channel #gtaivnetscripthook on freenode.
  12. Keep in mind that everyone you're competing with would also have to answer that question.
  13. I thought the darkness was just Photoshop (to add mysteriousness).
  14. Have you programmed before? If so, you might realize why learning from a book is not necessarily a great way. If not, REALLY DON'T TRY C++. IT IS A TERRIBLE BEGINNER LANGUAGE (shouting intentional). Anyway, there are no advantages in C++ for scripting unless you are doing extremely low-level, memory hacking stuff (which is also hard to learn, and is an absolutely terrible idea to try to start your scripting career with).
  15. Have you programmed before? If not, it may take more than just "a bit". ESPECIALLY if you expect anything approaching LCPDFR quality; scripting like that takes a lot of expertise and experience.
  16. One thing I use is a special SMAA antialiasing DLL. It doesn't hurt my FPS, and looks a bunch better.
  17. There's probably some 3 person department somewhere where the chief/sheriff thinks you need military service to prove you're not a communist or something like that.
  18. Correction: C# and VB are exactly as powerful. The only difference is syntax; they do literally the same things (in fact, they compile to the same intermediate language and both run on the CLR). However, VB looks like pretty much nothing else, while C# resembles other languages. Also, VB has sort of a terrible reputation (even though they do the same things, they have different communities). I might go with C# just because it has better support. "Power" really doesn't matter for scripting unless you truly (i.e. LMS-level) know what you're doing; you're learning, so you won't be doing anything that's not handled by Scripthook (which you can do just as well in .NET as in C++).
  19. They don't have to release RCs at all (and I don't think they ever planned on releasing any part of .95 before it was done).
  20. What looked like an LED? The flashing at 5:50 definitely looked like the default high beam. Pause while it's on and look at it. @Birthofahero10: That's real life. We're talking about in GTA.
  21. FYI, Halogen only works with ELS 6.
  22. I wouldn't use C++ if I was you. C++ is quite hard to learn and read, and scripting in .NET gives you a lot of nice features (for example, a bug in your script generally won't crash the game). Also, there seem to be a lot more resources to learn .NET scripting. Instead of C++, I'd learn either Visual Basic or C# and use Scripthook .NET.
  23. If it's just flashing the high beams (which it looks like to me), then you can't have a wig-wag. The high beams have to be both lights on or both lights off.
  24. I think that's basically the point. Just to make sure you're telling them everything, not just what you want them to hear.
  25. Is there a video?
