I completed the game, and I could play LSPD FR fine, I lost my save and now back at the second mission and for some reason I die when I get to the top half of the map for the first time, and then its fine (until next time I play, then I die for the first time again). Not sure if that is due to not completing much of the story or not, but it started as soon as I lost my saved game. But I think you should complete it first, it is a very good game.

If you bought a key and activated on social club, then its the rockstar version and not the steam version. You can download the game via Rockstar, go to https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/activate and it should say "Download for windows", then run that, your game will download and once that is done you will be able to play.

For some reason the update half installed and then kept crashing the launcher, so I am currently redownloading the game. Anyone know how the VIP thing works? How the hell do you become a VIP? sounds like you have to pay (real money) but I hope I am wrong.

Do you have the Keep Calm plugin? there was a bug with that and suspects would go slow (like regular traffic). Remove that and you should get some fast chases.

Already have it and really enjoy playing LSPDFR really looking forward to ELS V, completed the main game 3 times, and arrested so many criminals but would like to complete GTA IV and also play around with LCPDFR. EDIT: Downgraded to Windows 8.1 and now the game is working absolutely fine.

Sucks I have owned the game since it came out on PC but as you said its a bad port so would always lag, forgot about it for a bit and moved on and never felt like playing it again, but since playing LSPDFR and hearing about ELS I decided to try it out and ELS makes the game more fun for me, just sucks it keeps crashing. Planning on switching OS anyway as I keep having issues with 10, just wondered which OS most members play GTA IV with.

Just a quick question as I have been having trouble getting the game working on windows 10, I can play for 2 - 20 minutes fine but randomly crashes with and without mods. I have tried every solution I can find and nothing works so as I was thinking about changing OS it got me thinking what OS do you run the game on, as this will help me decide what OS to go to. Funny thing is I only installed GTA IV just to mess around with ELS and see what it is and how it works, ended up loving it so much that I cannot stop playing with it even though it does crash every now and then. (Crashed without mods as well)

No, but it stops you from messing up the original files, and you can easily turn off the mods folder so you can play online without getting banned.

I agree with most of that BUT the GPU @insanepixel listed in the second build is DDR3 vram which is slower compared to GDDR5. In fact DDR3 on GPU's is extremely bad. @insanepixel I highly suggest you avoid pre built systems like the 2 you posted, and buy the parts seperate, you can then either build it yourself or take it to a shop and get them to assemble it, this would be cheaper and also perform better than a pre built. If you do get a someone to assemble it for you then ask around as the average computer shop down the high street will be overpriced (still better than a prebuilt). How much are you looking at spending?

I am guessing when you say GTX 970 2.0 you are meaning EVGAs ACX2.0 line. I run a EVGA GTX 970 SSC (also ACX 2.0) and play in surround (Three monitors) on GTA V on high settings with 60fps (antialiasing off and advanced settings off, and a couple of other things lowered slightly) so a 970 at 1920x1080p should be getting 60FPS on very high settings. Honestly the 6## series is not worth it, look at getting something from the 7## (770 / 780) or 9## (970), don't bother with the 750 ti its not that good, everyone I know that plays GTA with that card is wanting to upgrade. the GTX 7## series has been discontinued, so any cards that stores still have in stock may be overpriced (they keep the prices high as people that want to go SLI will pay for them). How much are you looking to spend?

Thank you. Found all the police3 files, but I can only find 1 police file, same location as this met car goes, guessing the other police files are in another folder? Why is the GTA file structure so confusing... EDIT: replaced the police3 files, but the existing police3 car spawned, not sure what I did wrong...

Not a fan of seeing default GTA police and this awesome car (no ones fault, just no other good met cars). So I have been thinking and if I renamed your police2 files to police and police3 could I just replace those files and then have police, police2 and police3 all the same car? BTW Double Doppler, I freaking love this car, thank you.

Its using Invision Power Board for its software. Brilliant bit of software I actually own a few licenses for for the complete suite.
