Finding Spotlight Coordinates on Custom Cars?
You can do what I do. Enable the spotlight on vehicle and look take note of it's location visually. Disable spotlight and hit esc. While in the menu screen hit alt_tab and bring up the spotlight ini. Now adjust your settings for that slot and save but don't close it. Now go back into the game, you should still be in the menu screen so hit esc to go back to the game itself. Press the tilde key, this here ---> ~ and type in reloadscripts. As soon as it reloads them, might take a minute, press the tilde again to remove the console screen and enable the spotlight again. Keep repeating until you get the coordinates you like.

NO PROGRAM FILES (X86)
If you purchased it off steam then look in Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common. There you will find all your steam purchased games.

Does anyone know of a free gaming recorder that doesn't lag?
I hope that Action! works out for you, that's what I use. Make sure you look in the settings and change the keys so you don't get conflicts with any mods. You can also disable functions that you don't use thus freeing up more keys.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
That's odd, I remember replying about that but for some reason it's not showing up. Yea I was thinking about trying that out at some time. Another video is up if anyone is interested. http://www.youtube.com/user/GerhartRTFO/videos

Bandicam vs Fraps
I know I've mentioned it before in the forums somewhere but I think it's worth mentioning again. I use a product called Action! http://mirillis.com/en/products/action.html and believe it well worth the $30. The files are huge but once exported from the recorder they are reduce alot. After taking them into an editor the size drops even more. You can see examples of a straight export from the recorder in the media section and look for ride along with jake and jj. The first 5 videos are straight exports of 1080i and the last one went through the editor to see how much quality is lost.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Thank you OfficerDunn I shall give that a try. Well I've got a quick video up, about 12 minutes and basically a test. I ran it through my editor to see if I would lose too much quality and it seemed to work. If anyone watches it and thinks the quality is bad please let me know but I honestly don't know what else I could do to make it better. I don't know how many videos I can link in here so I think I'll just post when one is up and not link it in the first post. They can all be watched here though http://www.youtube.com/user/GerhartRTFO/videos Now all the videos have a link to lcpdfr and a list of mods used except for vehicles and a couple of others. I hope you enjoy.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Happy to hear you guys are liking them. Honestly I have several characters figured out but getting the voices right is another beast all together. My and my oldest son have played online with gta quite a bit. It usually ends up with us just fooling around and terrorizing Liberty City. He usually has issues with crashes but we're getting closer to him running more stable for longer periods of time. He will probably end up doing a character with me but it's going to be a challenge on the sound end. He has two of my grandchildren running around and it's not always quiet. I actually record his and my audio along with my video. Also until I give him my headset I get terrible feedback from his end, in other words, I can hear my own voice coming through his speakers. I just ordered another set so hopefully it's here soon, that'll help some. I did some tests last night and I think I've come to a happy medium to take my video into the editor and do a little more than a straight upload. I forgot to link all the mods in my videos so now I need to go back there and fix that, so embarrassing.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Thank you I'm glad you liked it. As long as it at least brings a smile I'm happy. Another video is up and I'm real sorry about the darkness. Youtube must compress it even more because it looks good before I upload it. I have two or three more and then I'm going to try something a little different, hopefully.

Good graphics card
Ast trooper you can check out newegg, amazon, tigerdirect among others to find prices. They can differ quite a bit so shopping around does pay off. I usually just grab what ever I need from newegg unless there is a huge price difference. I just, no more than 30 minutes ago, ordered a new processor 3770K, water cooler, another monitor and another headset so I can give my oldest son the one I use now. Dang it I just remembered I forgot to order a couple more hard drives lol. If you have a price range and other preferences there are usually options on the side to narrow it down. I've been an Nvidia user for quite some time. In the past I used Diamond, BFG and PNY but my last three cards have been EVGA. I've been building, fixing and just generally playing around with computers for about 26 years, give or take a few. At work out computers have ATI and I really don't care for them but it all comes down to preference. Oh man I just had a flashback, does anyone remember the Diamond Monster 3D accelerator? Wow I remember that thing and drooling like a newborn baby when I got one.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Wow that took a long time, longer than usual. Anyways the first post is updated with a new video, hope you enjoy it. I was going to upload another one while I'm at work but there may be a storm headed this way so it's postponed until I get home tonight.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Thank you for the kind words. Another video is up on the first post and I'm uploading another at the moment. It's a long process so I think I'm going to bed it's almost 6:00am and I need to get some sleep before work. Got two more waiting to upload after this one finishes, heh.

Vehicle Veiwer
Yes, you can use OpenIV to go into the vehicles img and look at what you installed. Just find the vehicle you replaced, right-click and choose view on the wft file to view the model. Same thing for the wtd file to view the textures. ninjaaaaad lol

Ride along with Jake and JJ
I may have to give that a try Rocking Star and thank you. A third video is up, it ends abruptly because I hit a wrong button but it still works lol. Two more are waiting to be exported and uploaded, Hope you enjoy.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Thank you. If you have any critique or suggestions please do so. I haven't used my video editor for these yet, they've been exported from my recorder and uploaded with nothing extra. I'm not looking to do full screen HD quality but something that looks decent on the large player. As of right now these have been exported as 1080i and I'm still experimenting. I have another ready for upload which is a little over 15 minutes long, just waiting for the time to do so. I'm looking for a truck to use for this character but I have my own requirements it must meet. I have three models downloaded and one of them is used in the first video. They can't have a high poly count, non-els ( nice mod but not my style ), prefer a 4-door ( I do have one that's not ), custom light bar not the vanilla, prefer fictional make and model but can be overlooked. I'm glad you guys liked them, it's all about having fun.

Ride along with Jake and JJ
Thinking of starting a series with these two characters I'm in the middle of working on. Jake is a sheriff from the south west and JJ is his son who is a deputy from the same area. They've been invited to Liberty City to do a reality cop show that features different officers from different areas. All recordings are done in Liberty City. I have more characters in the works but I thought I would start off with these two. I usually do this for my own enjoyment but I thought I might as well share to see what becomes of it. Keep in mind that this is played as an alternate reality not our own so no real seriousness is going on, just plain fun. My system specs are as follows : Cooler Master HAF 932 case Asrock P67 Extreme4 Gen3 motherboard Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (soon to be replaced with a 3770K and water cooling, bios update allows for it) 16 Gigs G.SKILL Sniper Series system ram EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW w/backplate 4GB (until I upgrade the cpu it only runs 2nd Gen, after update it will run 3rd) 3x500GB WD Hdd (updating soon) Headset/mic from my PS3 (which hasn't been turned on in a year) Turtlebeach P11 Recording software is Action! by http://mirillis.com/en/products/action.html Video Editing Software (not been used in first few videos yet) is Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/Pinnacle+Studio+16+Ultimate.html Channel location is here http://www.youtube.com/user/GerhartRTFO/videos I know the second video is pretty dark, sorry for that. It's actually the same darkness I have in the game because I've modified the visualsettings.ini.

Vanilla Vehicles Database
Thank you very much for doing this, it's extremely helpful. Also thank you for separating non-els/els as I use non-els. I've been looking for the Sentinel as an unmarked but haven't found any.

Google Maps MOD
Just got home from work. KRI that mod I linked does have the map you're looking for when in pause, all you need to do is zoom in. There's a choice for which exe you need, steam or disc.

Google Maps MOD
This one does, it's the one I use. Edit: or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean

gameplay recording
@ iEcosan I don't remember what the default keys are for Action as I have changed all of them. On the options tab, cog wheel on the left, look in the Hotkeys Settings, keyboard icon to the left. Check in there to make sure you have no conflicts with any ini settings for mods/scripts.

gameplay recording
I hope you don't mind me putting my two cents in. After years of using Fraps I came across Action! mentioned in steam. After looking around the website I decided to throw some money their way and haven't looked back. This is the website http://mirillis.com/en/products/action.html . Because of this topic I quickly exported a video that I had recently done. I haven't even experimented with the exporting and what is the best so I just used 1080i and uploaded it to youtube. The raw video is 7.42 gigs which is actually smaller than if I used fraps. Exporting it in 1080i reduced it down to 297MB and that is what I uploaded to youtube. There are some fantastic features in this software and so many options. You not only have game recording but also active desktop and active desktop region. Check out the screenshots and features over at the website, I personally believe it is well worth the money. By the way, that's not what I really sound like. I like developing characters and this is one that I'm working on, Jake and Jake Jr aka JJ. This actually looks better at youtube and remember this has not been through any video editor. It's just a straight export and upload

vdH PoliceHelper 1.2.0 beta
Yea it happened while I was outside the vehicle. I hit X to bring up PH and it paused like it should but I noticed I could still see my strobing headlights, which I thought was strange. Then after I do my business I click close and I get the strobe script error. After that PH starts popping up errors so I reload my scripts. I've already changed the ini for the strobes so they don't come on automatically but I haven't tested it yet. Fantastic to hear there's an update soon. Edit: Not having the strobes on while in PH seems to work. I had one error because the AI strobes were still enabled so I disabled them.
