  1. From what I remember... Georgia DPS is a state agency responsible for law enforcement in the state, and Georgia State Patrol is its division. Georgia DPS has some other subdivisions, one of which is commercial vehicle enforcement if my memory serves me right. I'm not really sure about the State Officer title though, as to my knowledge all law enforcement officers of DPS are titled State Troopers. Arizona has a similar system with the AZ DPS having Arizona Highway Patrol, CID, Commercial Enforcement and more specialized divisions, and Texas, with Texas HP and Texas Rangers being specialized subdivisions of the Texas DPS (and many other states).
  2. Nothing of mentioned above is shown in the video. Would it make a random person feel sympathetic towards police officers? No, I don't think so. For someone who advocates justified judgement, you may seem a little too willing to judge people you don't know.
  3. Unrelated but do French cops do that too? I though the "professional courtesy" aka "never cite cops for traffic" is limited to the East Cost of the US and certainly not in Europe...
  4. If I was to make a law enforcement support video I'd show their usual day in 3-4 minutes. Drunk men, crying men, hurt men, insane men, ignorant men, lost men, dead men -- all for them to handle. Riot control is what cops do too, but I really don't care. Maybe I've seen too many local riot cops lol.
  5. Or a Russian millionaire. I'd choose Alaska anytime. I'm used to watch bears playing in my backyard while waiting for my vodka to cool off in -20 degrees.
  6. Yeaaaah, a frisk animation! Gotta tell you, this was a thing that spoiled my LSPDFR experience to a degree. I mean, compare the two situtations: LCPDFR: I drive past some bikers, once mutters something like "I got a ticket for not wearing my helmet from those pigs" (yeah, they do say that), so I pull up, "ID - nice and slowly!", line them against the wall, hand on the heads, frisk every one on them very thoroughly while people gather around to see, and finally cuff one of them with this nice clicking sound. Even with no pursuits and shootouts it still was a pleasure. LSPDFR: Kifflom! ID check... "Just a warning this time!" Yeah... Can't wait to line those ghetto bird near their ghetto cars.
  7. I like how that Pulaski County Sheriff has all his front part unmarked. Someone had an easy traffic enforcement time even with that thing on top.

  9. I backed up the game version via RPH option, and then re-backed it up, so I'm playing on the old version. No new scripthook is available to the best of my knowledge which is rather poor @11john11 btw your modded Staniers with those CVPI-like wheels look stunning in traffic on those little streets of Mission Row at foggy nights. Still excited by the work RDE team did, even considering it mostly covers only LE. All those detectives on Mission Row station steps... Do you have any further development plans or is it a New Year/real life period? :)
  10. GTA IV: Game-spirit wise? Dark and gritty LC, narrow alleys covered with trash, Brighton Beach, Russian swearing, rich central island. Plot-wise GTA IV also offers more realistic and more dark story: an illegal immigrant blindly seeking revenge, working for anyone who pays. No big deal, no "king of the mountain", no millions, no robbing federal reserve, no stupid clown nonsense, almost (almost!) no Deus Ex Machina plot twists (Trevor Phillips kills the strip club manager and owns the place, ohahahaha, so funny (nope). Hate this part of GTA V). However, bank robbery in GTA IV is so damn boring. No planning, no preparation, 6 minutes of shooting. And after San Andreas and 10 casino heist preparation missions? You must be kidding me. You better be. Don't forget GTA IV has also working subway system! Tram in LS in V is a stupid joke which makes you waiting for 10 real life minutes (10 game hours) for a damned train. Gameplay wise? GTA IV sucks. So many errors with proper models, so many missed details (LCPD in Alderney is the most notable), so many crashes, so hard to mod (remember the taxi bug?) GTA V: Interesting but cliched plot, replaying for the second time is almost no fun. Nice landscape and surroundings, interesting to drive and walk around. However, doesn't affect me the way LC did. However, I love GTA V map, it's really nice. Not much to do apart from the missions. Minigames are boring (why the fuck did they take the pool out? Damn!), drunk driving is no fun, no trucking missions even though the map is calling for it. However, the game is built to last. I extremely appreciate its modability. Resume: To remember and re-play to light the feelings? GTA IV. To play? GTA V.
  11. Looks like a Range Rover somewhat. I do hope this thing has some improvements others than spoiler mounted LEDs. On the other hand... With all those 1990's police trucks rolling around me I'd better shut up.
  12. This is the essential trait of any military formation worldwide. That's why we love the military
  13. Coop games might be the future of gaming industry whether we like it or not (assuming Internet survives the nuclear strikes of WW III). Even now it's sometimes more fun to watch good RP communities' videos than playing alone. Though I have no time for setting up complicated RP sessions online and prefer enjoying my singeplayer when it's convenient for me.

  15. I don't get it, really. A police officer has a lot of tools at his or her disposal. A gun (a sidearm and/or an assault rifle), a Taser, a baton. handcuffs and, of course, his own body and mind. All these items are there for a reason. The reason is to help the said officer to subdue and arrest uncooperative people. The reason there's not only the gun is because the level of threat may and does vary in different situations. Yes, there was a pipe and he was walking towards the cops. Who knows that could have happened? He might have attacked the officers, yes. He might have thrown the pipe at them and run away. He might have worn a suicide vest or be an invulnerable cyborg. My point is that EVERY ordinary situation might escalate to something potentially lethal. And I DO recognize that sometimes what looks like a cold heart murder is that was necessary and even for the best of everyone. I actually was involved in a similar situation though thanks God not as a police officer (or the dead guy lol). In this case I can't see any suggestions for that, though. All I see is mays and mights. Yes, he might have been a threat. So maybe a preemptive air strike would have been a good measure? This is an exaggeration, of course, but this logic can bring us very far, because you can't be too careful, right?

  17. C'mon... A few of them them make mistakes so you decide to blame them all? The story is utterly disgusting however. As far as stopping the threat... There're certain options.
  18. Like, exactly my thoughts. Politics have degraded so much I'm afraid to think what will come next. My country is run and will be run for 6 more years by an old used-to-be-state security officer who never uses Internet and sincerely believes we're surrounded by enemies. Even worse, there's no one who could potentially replace him. Your country has a long and impressive story of democracy and now two most successful candidates to the most important public office of the planet are an old troll who don't give a shit and a political flip-floppee with no moral convictions whatsoever. Wow.
  19. The unrest was sparked when Israel was established in the first place. Since then there were a couple of full-scale wars (all won by Israel) and a never-ending resistance. The bad idea was placing Israel in the midst of hostile countries for getting political points. Anything more is a mere development. I would ask you where exactly are we moving, but don't want to spark a hostile political discussion here. I mean, another hostile political discussion.
  20. I like the stripe. That's the only thing I like here... I mean, a huge star tucked somewhere in the upper right corner of the vehicle? This horrible angle of the stripe and writing? Just like this new Detroit PD design. I agree, a unique design for a PD is always a good thing as well as the visibility, but if drivers sometimes fail to see lights (you Americans put them on every detail nowadays :D ), would they notice a reflective stripe? On the other hand, in 1960's there were a handful of good looking, neat and professional liveries...
