  11. Let's take a look at the Acer Chromebook: Source: www.chromebookspecs.com Trust me, that won't work. Chromebook aren't even able to run Windows applications since they run Chrome OS instead of Windows by default. According to some instructions which can be found easily, it is possible to install Windows on a Chromebook, but it isn't recommended since many things don't work. So: No, an Acer Chromebook will not be able to run Grand Theft Auto IV or any other similiar games. If you absolutely want to buy a laptop insteand of a computer to play GTA IV, forget the laptops which cost about 200-400$. Better save your money and buy something which won't disappoint you.
  12. That depends on the hard drive. I used to have a hard drive on which I tested many operation systems. It was a regular hard drive with 120 gigabytes and it still worked after all the reinstallations, although I formatted the hard drive very often. It even had over 10.000 power-on hours.
  13. It's the menu called "Bodyguard/Ped Spawning".

  16. Thanks for reporting this.I tried to reproduce it but it works fine for me. Did you already try to reinstall the modification? Paste all files into the scripts folder and replace them and also replace the EXTRAS.ivaud. If it still doesn't work, please let me know if the same happens if you use older versions.

  18. Did the graphical bugs appear on Windows Vista or did they appear after you've installed Windows 7? When you upload a video and your computer crashes, did you do anything in the background? I had a similiar problem once: I watched a video with the YouTube HTML5 player on Windows 8 and my computer crashed. If I switched back to the standard player (Flash), nothing happened, as well as I used the HTML5 player under Windows 7. If you want to check your RAM, you can use a tool which is included in Windows. Just press Win + R and type "MdSched". It should open a window where you can restart the computer and start the memory diagnostic. This might take some time depending on the amount of your RAM. You can do this overnight or when you don't need the computer. And if you only have a 550W PSU and you need a 650W or 750W PSU, that might be another reason why your computer freezes and / or reboots or stops. Would be nice if you tell us what was the problem if you solved it.
  19. It happens for me if I watch a YouTube video and minimize Firefox while the video is still playing. Reinstalling and creating a new profile didn't help. Did you try reinstalling firefox and / or creating a new profile? (If not, make sure to backup your bookmarks, your history etc.) If that only happens with YouTube videos (like in my case), you could try to use HTML5 instead of Flash: https://www.youtube.com/html5
  20. The Non-ELS cars should work fine, but you might have to activate the lights manually by pressing the * key on your numeric pad. Like this: - Press * to activate the lights (there are three lighting modes) - Hold T to activate the siren Only set the controls to 0, except the Horn_Manu and Horn_Airh. They are located in the beginning of the file (in "CONTROLS"). After that, scroll down and look for "Ai_Els_Sp" and "Ai_Els_Mp" and set them to false. EDIT: I've uploaded the configuration: http://pastebin.com/gu1SdJTB
  21. Download the latest ELS version (v8.0) and set everything under "CONTROLS" to 0 except "Horn_Manu" and "Horn_Airh". Also set "Ai_Els_Sp" and "Ai_Els_Mp" under "MISC SETTINGS" to false. These settings are located in the "ELS.ini" file in the GTA IV directory. This allows you to use the airhorn and the manual siren without accidentally hit other ELS keys. It should also fix the crashes.

I just uploaded another version ("Movie Siren (v1-WYWY).zip") which should get rid of the problem you have described.Hope it helps!

Thanks! :) I didn't consider that because I always use the numeric keys (1, 2, 3 and 4) or simply the G key to toggle between the sirens. You can do this by yourself by exporting the SIREN_1 file from the HORNS.ivaud archive and import it with the name POLICE_WARNING. That won't take long with GTAIVaud.

The sample I used didn't have a priority or hi-lo tone, so I simply took the yelp for the priority and hi-lo tone.If I find a priority or hi-lo tone, I'll use them. :P
  25. Thanks! It would be possible, I'll see what I can do within the next time. Thanks for your suggestions! :)

*** INFORMATION *** There are two archives in the download section. If you want the normal version, choose the "Movie Siren (v1).zip" file. If you use a certain key combination to switch between the sirens and the yelp tone appears three times in a row, choose the "Movie Siren (v1-WYWY).zip" (Wail-Yelp-Wail-Yelp) file. Description You may know this siren from a movie, from a game or maybe from somewhere else. It's now available for Grand Theft Auto! Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiXet7cQg4s

  28. I just released it: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> :) I tried to cut the last part of the wail tone to create some sort of wind down, but it didn't really sound like a wind down. :PSo it's not easy to do something like this without a good sample.
