Hi I have a question......

Featured Replies

So I know your new so you get a pass lol. Your question is really open. A "dell or Acer" really don't matter, its weather the specs (graphics card, memory, motherboard/processor, etc) meet the requirements to run the GTA IV game. If they can then you SHOULD (in theory) be able to run LCPDFR. As for helping you, message me in privet and I will see if I can help you get started.

Deffo the Chromebook! 70+ FPS for sure!

Dell or Chromebook is like saying would you like bacon or bacon xD.

It's not the brand you have to look at, it's the Laptop's system specs. For me personally i'd actually forget about a laptop and get a desktop because it'll be hard to find a laptop that'll run GTA 4 with a decent frame-rate (except if you're willing to pay 1000-2000 dollars on a gaming laptop).

95% of Laptops aren't made for gaming, Laptops themselves were never designed for gaming, they were designed for school/office work, browsing the internet etc.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

I have a HP pavilion laptop. its a some 500 dollar laptop but got it cheaper refurbished. I will start off by saying i recommend a desktop but i play GTA IV with LCPD:FR on my laptop. My laptop has decent specs although it would run better if it had better cooling. Here are my Specs

  • AMD A6-5200 Quad-Core processor
    2.0GHz, 2MB L2 Cache

  • 4GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory
Gives you the power to handle most power-hungry applications and tons of multimedia work

  • 750GB SATA hard drive
Store 500,000 photos, 214,000 songs or 395 hours of HD video and more
  • AMD Radeon HD 8400 Graphics
With up to 2092MB total graphics memory and HDMI and VGA capabilities

With any computer you will want a great graphics card, Decent processor, and a ton of dedicated memory. If the computer you are looking to use/acquire inst built for gaming I don't recommend it. If you have any questions for me. quote or PM me. I would be glad to help as much as i can.

EDIT: Also to add, This only runs GTA IV on low settings. Even though this is set so low, It lags at times still.

I don't usually have too many problems running GTA on a dell XPS laptop. I have to run the game at the lowest screen thing (600xsomething) but I can usually have the graphics and reflections running on medium, I just have to be real careful about what mods I'm using.

Let's take a look at the Acer Chromebook:

- Intel Atom N570 Dual-Core Processor
- 2GB DDR3 RAM
- 16GB SDD

Trust me, that won't work.

Chromebook aren't even able to run Windows applications since they run Chrome OS instead of Windows by default.
According to some instructions which can be found easily, it is possible to install Windows on a Chromebook, but it isn't recommended since many things don't work.

So: No, an Acer Chromebook will not be able to run Grand Theft Auto IV or any other similiar games.

If you absolutely want to buy a laptop insteand of a computer to play GTA IV, forget the laptops which cost about 200-400$.
Better save your money and buy something which won't disappoint you.

Pfft, what do you mean? The Chromebook gets an easy 80FPS. I hear you can replace GPUs, and it has a retard bump on the bottom to fit in standard PC grade GPUs in it.

SCNG FTW!!

Laptops cost more then 200$-400$

For a decent computer you're looking at 600-1000.

For a laptop that can run GTA IV, like an Alienware 18, you're going to need about 2100$ to start.

If you build your own, the prices can get way higher.
